Phew :). I just like to be sure. I’d hate to spoil the fun for any one. This was such a good episode!
Most of ya’ll know that I’m all about Bill and Jessica and as a girl who is all about Bill and Jessica I cried, I laughed, I cheered, I gasped, I cussed…I was happy. The scene where Bill and Jessica reunited featured some of THE best acting on the show. Stephen and Deborah nailed it. NAILED IT. I was sobbing during that scene. Jessica’s fear of being alone. Bill’s fear of not being “any good to her” and not being able to protect her. Real hearbreaking stuff. I couldn’t have asked for that to be handled better. I applaud the writers.

And that last scene. Well, lordy lordy. That will tie me over for quite some time.
This was one of my favorite eps. Well done all around.

Ugghh!!! What is with the jilted lover write-offs? First Lorena, then Talbot? The former should have gone out with more style, and the latter was much too underused. We hardly knew ye, and could the Eric/Talbot man-sex have been any shorter? They milk every last saucy drop of bloody sex juice out of everything else, but not the man-handling man-on-man shit? FAIL. Won’t get my hopes up for Laffy and Jesus. I’ll just have to stay as sad as I already am.
Most emotional moment: I hate it when Jessica cries. I could see myself doing anything for that baby girl, or Deborah Ann Woll for that matter.
Loved Sooks for the first time in awhile tonight. Did I blink and miss the terse removal of hoop earrings and the liberal application of vaseline? She took it to the streets in her grandmother’s house. Nice. Debbie now has Joker-face for a right profile. She’ll really be dangerous now.
Tremendous episode overall though, indisputable.
Eric: (slightly breathless with arousal and MURDEROUS ANTICIPATION, softly growls) “Turn over…”
Talbot: (beyond ecstatic, as anyone would be) OH YES, DADDY.

Alot of tv critics are saying that this season doesnt compare to season 2, and that Russ doesnt live up to a villain like maryann? i duno what every1 else thinks but i think season 3 is going great gunz!!!

I loved the episode until the end. If Sookie doesn’t realize that all that was was hate sex fueled by an intense situation, and being hopped up on vamp blood again, I will be very, very unhappy.

maybe it was just passionate sex. The kind of sex that you would have with the one you love and whom you’ve been dramatically separated from.

I don’t think it was hate sex. If Bill were having hate sex with Sookie, her head would have been facing the opposite direction. ;) It was more like, adrenaline fueled and strung out on V sex.
It was sex fueled by an intense situation and the need to reaffirm that you’re alive. It was aided by Sookie being hopped up on V. The only reason I call it hate sex was that she was practically strangling him. Her hand was wrapped around his neck. It was extremely aggressive. I don’t think they hate each other, but that was very, very close to hate sex.
That had nothing to do with showing each other love. Perhaps the kissing before it, but not the act.
Frankly, I’m just sick and tired of this stupid Sookie. She’s just so… dumb. Kudos to her for being badass tonight on kicking Debbie’s ass though. Granted, she was only able to do that with the aide of Bill’s blood, but she held her own and it was awesome to see.
If that’s hate sex, sign me up.

It was intense. It was raw. It was spur of the moment. It was real. As a “I don’t give a hoot who gets Sookie as long as Bill is happy” I thought it was awesome. Love is messy and intense and so was that scene. Made sense to me. Lest we not forget Sookie saying if she were in trouble Bill would conme. He did and I imagine she was relieved and overcome. Just awesome!

Fine, fine. I just want to say, I’m… uh, glad your back. There is a religious significance to your recaps, and there was very little justice for us in your absence.
The aboslute best part of this terrific episode was the raw and primal sex scene at the end. Wow! You could sense the love and lust those two have for each other through the screen! Sookie and Bill (Anna and Steve) are absolutely magic toether.
I take back every nasty, snippy, and mean thing I ever said about Sookie. She was giving Bill her all tonight. You go girl!!!!
I didn’t like seeing poor Talbot getting staked, I kind of liked him, but at least it saved Bill from RE. Always some good in everything I guess.
Loved the scenes between Bill and Jessica. They were tender and awesome. When she put her head on his leg and cried, OMG. I love that Bill cares as much for his child as Eric does for Pam.
I laughed myself silly as Bill taught Jessica how to run from the werewolves. I loved that she went to help him protect Sookie. She is going to be one tough, take no prisoners, kick ass sort of vamp. I like Jessica, she has become one of my favorite characters.
Ummm, u can’t take-backsy any past remarks you’ve made about Sookie’s character flaws. The Truth won’t let you.
I agree with you that at least Talbot’s sex-prefaced death led to the sparing of Bill because of RE’s grief, which will be a less than brief distraction from even more upcoming things.
Other favorite moments: when Russ calls Sookie a “special cunt,” and Jessica gives her wolf opponent a smile and a very “Hello Kitty say hi” greeting hand wave. Too cute.

I’ve Never Been More Jealous Of A Finally Death Scene More In My Life……Umm Eric….. LOL. And I Got A Feel Auntie Pam Is Going To Be A Little Of Are Baby Jess.
So after a second watching, I am still kinda conflicted about Eric tonight. Did he kill Talbot 100% for revenge or did he do it while RE was on a Sookie finding mission on purpose to distract him? I can’t decide if it was a little bit of both.
Little bit of both I’m guessing. Definitely for revenge – he flat out said so – but this was also his opportunity while Russell was away. I don’t know that Eric could time the sex with Talbot to be at the exact.same.time that KRE was going after Sookie, but I’m sure Eric was counting on Russell feeling Talbot’s death.
I think Eric was just taking advantage of his opportuniities. He is very single minded in his pursuits. I don’t think there was anyway he could time it to the moment when RE was trying to kill Bill or force him to turn Sookie over to him.
No doubt about it, Eric knew that RE would feel Talbot’s death and wanted to cause him serious emotional pain. The only realy human quality in RE was his love for Talbot. Too bad the gorgeous vamp had to be sacrificed so that Eric could obtain his revenge (although if it had to be, I am glad it saved Bill). Talbot wasn’t responsible for what RE did before he even met him. Talbot always made me laugh. He was such a little fussbudget about his home, only one with big fangs. I had an aunt like that, but without the fangs.
I thought Hadley’s conversation with Sookie left no doubt that Eric would kill her if she didn’t give her the message exactly as instructed. I wish she would have detailed Eric’s actions with her in her mind, so that Sookie could hear them. I don’t remember the actress’ name, but she did a good job.
But how the hell is Eric going to keep a life-preserving distance between himself and RE? Pretty sure the king knows the playmate (Eric the house bunny lol) killed his beloved, as that’s who he left Talbot with. It’ll be interesting to see if he can lie and say someone stole through the very heavily guard occupied mansion and did the deed. I doubt that very much. And I just as much doubt he can argue self-defense. So RE will return to find Talbot’s residue and stain right there in the trophy room, with some message from Eric explaining this act of betrayal. But will he imply or state clearly that it was revenge?
I still can’t figure how Eric will manage to avoid this most-powerful vampire. It certainly seems to be of lower priority to him in next week’s preview, as Nan begins hissing at him about the Magister at Fangtasia. It’ll be interesting.
I feel sorry for Talbot. KRE goes off and leaves him at home with his diamond slippers, lots of blood and vampire boys, and does all those terrible, rotten things while he gathers his collection. The beautiful boy gets the shaft for it in the back, but at least he got it someplace else first and he looked happy for a little while. No doubt about it, Eric and Talbot are two hot looking males.
I think KRE’s revenge will be terrible to behold if AB ever shows it. I would not want to be the big blonde viking after this. I agree he needs to put some major distance between him and KRE. Also wonder what happens with QSA; will Eric switch allegiences again?
I think it was touching to see Jason try to protect his Crystal. Poor lovestruck fool, he has a good heart, but that boy is in for a world of hurt from the Hotshot crowd. Calvin Norris seems positively evil in AB’s world. Of course, Sam and Tommy would recognize what Calvin Norris and Crystal’s boyfriend are. Did you see them sniff the air? The werepanthers recongnized them for shifters too.
I know that AB intends to break Bill and Sookie up, but at least we have last night’s episode to keep up warm for a little while. Still can’t get over it. What a surpirse!

Roller coaster episode.
From crying over Bill and Sookie to cheering at the end, LOVED the Bill/Jessica reunion and training, liked the hints of Lafayette being powerful… so is he gonna be witch too?
Interesting that Sam and Tommy know the Hotshot folks are not what they seem… will they pass that info on to anyone?

As to the ending, all I can say is YES, YES, YES… what started off with tender kisses, apologies and affirmations of love transformed to raw and primal togetherness. Not sure what this will mean for Bill and Sookie next week, but I was loving it tonight!
Bill/sookie first scene was so sad, but then they get it on @ then end. LOL! AB why set up bill to do such a horrible thing to sookie, to then have an emotional break up but have sex in the end? All in one episode! Kinda all over the place!! I would rather AB not have bill do that cruel thing to sookie and just have them stay together. Woo hoo for sookie bill, but AB take note…that is all over the place for one episode!
I have a theory why they did it though…they needed to establish bill/sookies love/passion for each other one more time before they break them up for a period of time.
Everything else was kind of ‘blah’. The best bits of the episode; eric getting revenge, sookie kicking ass, sookie/bill time :)

OMFG what an AWESOME episode ….glad i had the tissues ready for the beginning and the beautifully moving Bill and Jessica scenes . Also had to dab my eyes when poor Hoyt was crying in his truck !
Tommy Mickens is growing on me and even have more sympathy for Tara now but poor Talbot .
And as for the end – WOW totally unexpected but sooooo worth the wait !!! No hate just pure unadulterated lust …although it looks like it’s all going to turn to crap s**t again next week !

Hands down, BEST EPISODE OF THE SEASON!!!!!!!! CE you are gonna LOVE it. finally starting to enjoy the Sam/Tommy storyline. Still hesitant on Jason’s but only b/c of book Crystal (white trash whore) and I REALLY hope Alan Ball keeps that plot. and Sookie/Bill??? HELL TO THE MO FO YEAH!!!!!!

Are they together or not? guess we will find out next episode..Thanks Eric you saved bill and sookie.. I think he knew in the back of his mind he would have had to get rid of Talbot pretty quickly knowing it will bring russell back and away from sookie. Very clever Eric…I guess team Bill owe you one!

Why oh why did they have to short change the Eric/Talbot sex scene???!?! That was smokin! Although I am really upset Talbot is dead.. I thought he was an awesome and fun character. But it was the most obvious choice for getting back at the King. The sex scene at the end between Bill and Sookie was also very hot but also very stupid on Sookie’s part. I wonder if things will start to go downhill again next week when Bill appears to start fessing up.
The preview next week also makes it seem like Eric doesn’t expect to come out if this alive. And we have already seen spoiler photos from the shooting of the finale… things are going to roll downhill fast for him.
totally agree with you.. to be honest i didnt know how i would react to the eric/talbot scene before hand..but it was hott.. And yes, sookie was a bit stupid to get into the make up sex but i guess we gotta give her break she aint had any in awhile. She will come to the realisation that her and bill wont work when im assuming by the looks of it, he will confess his transgressions :( eric must come to the realisation that he will die in his attempt for revenge. Hence why in later episodal synopsis’ i have read. he writes a last will and testament.. Wonder what thats about? It seems he is welcoming death, is eric still mourning godric and longs to face a death he faced? we know godric is coming up in a later episode! Poor Pam!

Assuming that Eric has a master revenge plan in place, what’s his next step with Russell. I mean, it’s gonna be obvious who killed Talbot – Russell will be through trusting him (not that I was ever sure that KRE had faith in Eric to begin with). What is going to stop Russell from immediately killing Eric? And have them be at a place that in a week or two Eric will be able to offer KRE the vampire’s ultimate dream?

poor eric he really is in more shit. Now Nan Flangan & AVL is on his ass. Add to that I assume russell as well. On top of that I think he actually does care for sookie…ahh after himself first and foremost ofcourse! But he has just got too much shit on his plate at the moment!
I think this weeks episode set up sookie taking control, and although knowing bill and sookie love each other. Bill may start taking his relationship with jessica as her maker alot more seriously. We saw that when he went to help her first! Maybe its foreshadowing the future where we may see Bill have a priority and something more important to think about than sookie for a change. Be good to see Bill and jessica child/parent relationship explored a bit more…But definately throw in some bill/sook hott sex scenes every now and again!
Im assuming the hot shot crew are gonna be alot of trouble not for just sam but for sookie. If book 4 is anything to go by jasons gonna get in alot of trouble and sookie is gonna have to save his ass!!

Well, Tara already had a shower dream with Franklin this week. It’d be redundant to have another shower dream the next week. It’s got to be real. It’d be nice if the Bill and Sookie scene continued with them showering off the nasty were blood they had on each other and to cool off from the hot sex they just had. I can tell Eric lovers are gonna be pissed if that turns out to be Bill in the shower with Sookie.

They do look a LOT like bite marks. I don’t know…I think it’s a dream. I can’t believe Bill would bite her on the neck, unless she invited him to after all they’ve been through, but I suppose it’s possible during that wild and crazy sex ride. The blood she has on her chin and lip, is that the side the Debbie hit her on? That would be accurate if so.
As Carly said, they already made the dream scene with Tara and Franklin… they won’t repeat.

I would be really really surprised if those are bite marks on Sookie’s neck. After the near draining, I would think that bites would/should be (temporarily) forbidden.

I would be surprised if they were fresh bite marks too …after rewatching end of episode 8 i got the impression that maybe Sookie had got her hand on Bill’s throat to restrain him from biting her ?? Or i maybe barking up the wrong tree …
I don’t think she was restraining him from biting her, the same way I don’t think he would dare to bit her without her invitation. I think she was just in a dominating role, and probably there will be some comment about what he told her at the phone call about Lorena after. She was trying to demonstrate him she can have wild sex without being broken… obviously that’s how consuming vampire blood may make you feel.

I must say I cried too at the hospital scene and I think this has been my first time on a TV show.
It was very well done. And I loved the fact that they surprised me once again, when I was expecting Sookie to reject Bill, he was the one who broke up.
Sookie could have demonstrated to be angry with the sex scene, but I think that’s not what really happened after seeing how tender she was telling him she loved him several times. There was no angriness in that prelude.
I’m hoping that the next scene between Eric and Russell involves Eric holding a sword and saying “My name is Eric Northman. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”
Ahahah! OMG that would be teh awesomes!
But then I also get this quote from Generation Kill going through my brain:
“You should have rolled into battle with a sword, Brad. That would’ve fuckin’ rocked.”
maybe he should stay true to his roots and say it in scandanavian!

Newer poster here…loved this episode. I can’t wait until Sunday! I really think AB has set us up quite nicely for next season. I think that after our gal Sook has had all of these revelations regarding her true nature, the reason that Bill first walked into the bar, and escapes this season still somewhat intact, she is going to begin to rely on herself. Some of the sites are reporting that the final episode of this season finds Sookie swearing off Bill and vamps in general. I can see her trying to reconnect to her breathing friends and after a long night of work at the bar, she’ll be driving home and come upon a tall, blonde man running down the road towards her house. Once again, she’ll be forced into the world of the supernatural just because she is a nice person who in some way craves the excitement that the supe world brings to her somewhat hum drum life. Really enjoy the banter on this site..

I think she will be relying on herself more and more. And I think that this last episode showed that she is starting to depend on her own power (albeit a V induced power). I like the way you describe her getting back into the supernatural world because she “is a nice person.” Because truly she is, and even though (and I have no idea how she’ll feel about Eric at the end of the season) she dislikes Eric now, even today I don’t think she’d let him run down the street like that without stopping.
