I forever hate Eric, I don’t care if he didn’t mean what he did, Eric is forever a BITCH in my book. Team BILL/ALCIDE/QUINN!

  2. jay says:

poor bill having to chose between jessica and sookie…choose your child!!!
I havent seen ‘i got a right to sing the blues’ yet, so I wont comment if I hate eric or not until I see it!!! Looks like bill also did something not very nice…aww! Poor sookie, stick with alcide and sam :)

  3. Aemac says:

Eric is making a choice of revenge before Sookie even if it means everyone dying. Once again, his agenda is all about himself.

Bill is always thinking about Sookie and putting her first even when it’s detrimental.

I love to love Bill and I love to hate Eric. Both are great characters.

  4. michelle says:

    it’s getting sooooo good!

  5. team whoeversleft :) says:

Well they’re putting a lot of faith in how much we like bill\eric. I just hope I walk away from this season stil in love with Bill and interested in the Eric storyline. :(

    • TeamSookie says:

This is very true, neither are looking that great. But truth is they always say how neither is all good or all bad. Bill fans want to think Eric is all bad and Eric fans want to think Bill is all bad, and their favorite is perfect and never makes any mistakes. There will always be a biased view but if you step back and look at the situation clearly then anyone would see that both are flawed, and they are a combination of both good and bad. Throughout the show it will be an ongoing cycle where we see them have moments of both. Either side will always have something to say about the other side, while we ignore our own side of course and excuse any behavior.

  6. jen says:

yeah they really are pushing their audience..I hope I still love both of ‘em come seasons end 2!!!

  7. tigereyes says:

I will forever Love Bill, that will never change. I like watching Eric’s character, but I don’t like him. As he said, he does not love humans and I’ve thought from the beginning, Eric only does what benefits him.

Love this show so much. I still have hope for Bill and Sookie. Stephen Moyer is such an amazing actor.

  8. rj says:

Wow…don’t like where it’s going (so far from the books), but got to love it. Tonight’s episode had some unexpected twists that are hard to dismiss.

Do you really think this is a trailer for next week’s episode? There is sooooo much going on.

    • CitizenErased says:

Nah, I think its a mix of a couple of episodes actually but that’s how it was advertised.

This season bears little resemblance to the source book really. I can understand book fans being totally pissed, but personally I love it. All of it. Fucking genius. They really hit it out of the goddamn park this week.

      • NotHoney says:

Anytime someone says, or I read how the series doesn’t follow the books, it’s music to my ears. Tonight’s ep was brilliant, the best so far but I fully expect each succeeding episode to kick the previous one’s ass. AB, you’re a genius, sir.

  9. Jacqueline says:

I don’t hate Eric. I think there’s more going on here. I also think he lies when he says he doesn’t care about Sookie. And Bill didn’t do something too good either as someone had said. I’m temporary angry at Eric and a little upset with Bill. But I do not hate either of them. I never read the books but from what friends have told me I like Eric. I am Team Bill but never been against Eric. But to the person who said Eric doesn’t care about humans. Think about that. Sookie is not entirely human. It’s been shown throughout the third season she’s part something else. Also Eric has stated from the beginning his suspicions on her not being entirely human. And Bill asked her when they first met what are you? The theme has always seem to be; What is Sookie? So I think we should wait til next week’s episode to past judgments on any of the characters just yet.

  10. veruca says:

I don’t get the Eric hate. Really, who is Sookie to him? He’s known her for basically 2 months and aside from her telepathy being useful and his wanting to have sex with her – who is she to him? They barely know each other. Yes, he has fondness for her because of what she did for Godric, but with the situation he’s in, saving her from Russell is understandably on the bottom of his list of priorities. He needs to save his child and fulfill his father’s dying wishes from 1000 years earlier. Saving the human companion of one of your insubordinate area vampires from a King 3x your age wouldn’t be at the top of the lists of most.

That said, Eric has a buttload going on. I think that if he weren’t dealing with the potential death of his child and the Russell situation, he would have done something to save Sookie if he could. But this is Eric. He has many layers and is extremely pragmatic. He probably has about 8 plans going at a time and knows that by going through with what he’s doing, somehow it will work out that Sookie is saved.

I have to say, I was really pissed off with this epiosde, because like with most key Sookie/Eric moments they completely changed the ‘escape from Russell’s scene. Eric giving Sookie his blood and helping to organize her escape was, along with the orgy and staking Longshadow, a key moment in her beginning to trust him. He was also at his most honest (to that point) with her when stating ‘I don’t like having feelings’. I fully admit that I’m on Team Eric. I have nothing against Bill, but I hate how the show is turning Eric into a heartless bastard and refusing to allow Bill to do anything that isn’t ‘right’ (yes, he had sex with Lorena, but still). I get taht Alan Ball wants Sookie and Bill to end up together, but he is making it hard for those fans of the books who prefer Eric to stay connected to the show (no, I’m not the only one who feels this way).

  11. TeamSookie says:

I think most people can realize that Eric didn’t mean it. For one, he came by Sookie’s side to tell RE not to get rid of her, he probably thought Re was going to kill her. How would Eric know that RE was aware that Sookie was a telepath, so he did do something to make sure RE keeps her alive. When Lorena got in Sookie’s face, Eric came up right behind Sookie. On top of having to deal with saving Pam, now he has Sookie who did NOT listen to a word he said and acted like an idiot in Jackson. I’m sure he’ll regret those words though. When it comes down to it, they both have things they’ll have to make up for. Right now Alcide is the one who comes out looking best lol. Go Alcide!

I would be willing to say it was a stupid move but I remember when Bill called Sookie, everyone defended him saying he had to say those things to her, he didn’t mean any of it. Look at Eric’s face when he had his back to her, you can tell how he was feeling about the whole situation. What he is doing is what should be done. Bill just got into trouble for betraying Russell because of his interest in Sookie, so what Eric has to do now is do the complete opposite of what Bill did and pretend he has absolutely no interest in Sookie or else RE would just use Sookie against Eric and then Eric would be in the same position as Bill. Look at the position Bill is in now, he staked that vamp and now is being tortured. How did this help Sookie, now she is in the position of having to save him. By the way, if you notice, Bill stakes the vamp guard when RE was just about to reveal Bill’s secret, maybe a coincidence but what other reason would he have to stake the guard at that moment. Sookie and Bill sometimes don’t think, and I love Sookie but instead of helping they are making matters worse. How was Bill gonna help get Sookie out of there by staking the guard and then trying to attack a 2800 year old vampire, then there was still Talbot there, Lorena and how many other guards.

I think after Sookie gets out of the hospital, the last thing she’ll be upset about is Eric saying he doesn’t care. But I’m sure he’ll end up showing that he does.

Sorry but compare what Eric has to redeem himself for and Bill. Eric has to redeem himself for saying he doesn’t care about her. Bill has to redeem himself for sleeping with Lorena, the file and now putting her in the hospital.

With that said, I did end up feeling bad for Bill when he was being tortured.

  12. jen says:

Eric is not sookies partner, not sookies lover and not even sookies friend. He has different priorities!
Really people, if you had to choose between doing what your Father wanted and saving your child. Compared to keeping your infatuation safe, the infatuation you have only known for a few months. Who would you choose?…How is eric selfish, if what he is doing is for his family???
Im not team eric, I couldnt give a hoot for the teams. I just see the characters through clear lenses!!!
I have seen signs that eric cares though are very subtle..Its in his body language and his facial expressions. He keeps his feelings in, he will never show sookie or the audience his true feelings. If you think back to erics first season 3 flashback with godric. Godric tells him to not show his emotions, and that they are superior. No wonder he is the way he is…We are all products of our past!
Bill….I love how bill despite making rash decisions and actions before thinking them through, does anything and everything for sookie!! Its genuine and real and despite some bad things he has done. Some of which we have not come to learn, and bad things it looks like he will do in the future..The audience cant help but love him!
The show has set it up the two characters perfectly!! Very clever!

  13. Cranky says:

Great episode tonight! I love Eric. Love the way he “handled” everyone. Agree with TeamSookie…Eric did what he did…convincing Russell of “her value” to keep her about as “safe” as he possibly could…under the circumstances.

So Bill is going to be chewing on Sookie? My my…in keeping with the book?

  14. Zoe says:

This show might be taking a round about way about following the books but they are following them, and just adding a heck of a lot to them as they go!! Bill being held captive at Russel’s (check), Sookie going to Jackson with Alcide to look for Bill (check), Lorena and Debbie torturing Bill (check), the main theme is there, even if the details are different.

I think when Sookie wakes up she’s going to have a lot to think about when it comes to forgiving Bill. She now knows about his dossier/mission and his screwing with Lorena, all things that made Book Sookie re-consider her relationship with Bill.

According to AB, the show has only been taking place over the span of 6 weeks. That means Sookie has only known Eric for about 5, so why should he have so much loyalty to her? It also makes me wonder why Bill was even proposing marriage to a basic stranger? The only relationship that isn’t rushed on that time frame is Arlene and Terry and that’s only because it’s believable they’ve known each other for years before moving in together.

    • Sarah B says:

I totally agree! It does seem strange the purposal so soon..lol I hadnt thought about that but it does look maybe there is more behind the purposal then just him loving her!

  15. gattopardo says:

haven’t seen las sunday’s epi and am near overloading with anxiety and excitement after seeing this! so much going on!
    wow wow and wow
I am not ready to start hating or exclusively loving either bill or eric. To give AB an his team of writers credit, they have been working to make these characters as multilayered and complex as possible and I find they are both going to surprise us a great deal as the show unfolds. I love them both for very different reasons and try not to base my judgement of them solely on their treatment of our much put-up heroine. But whatever way you sway, man alive, this show kicks some serious derrière. (I just wish it was that bovine lorena’s being kicked all the way to her final end)

  16. Sarah UK says:

Have just watched last night’s episode and now watched this preview ….WOW, WOW, WOW , WOW, WOW.

I still think Eric is a conniving so and so but then again which vampire isn’t playing someone ??? Can’t wait for next week …..

Although i have a question – is that Bill biting Sookie or is he biting someine else – image is a bit fuzzy ???

    • Aemac says:

It looked like Bill biting Sookie to me.

      • Sarah UK says:

Thnkjas Aemac looked like that to me too if so s**t !!!!! Although i am sure there will be more to the story when it airs

        • cr says:

I wonder if this is AB’s version of the trunk scene. No ‘rape’, but after his torture he need his strength back and needs to feed, and doesn’t really know who he’s feeding on.

  17. jay says:

best episode thus far… written by Allan Ball himself! Brillliant….Ohh how I wish he wrote every single episode!! The only other episode he wrote this season is the finale….That is going to be a cracker!!!
The jason and lafy storyline was interesting finally. Arlene wasnt so annoying finally. Tara and sookie showed some real toughness and enterprise escaping the mansion. Although, Tara went about killing Franklin all wrong which will come back to bite her (literally). While I hated lorena, I had glimpses of sadness for her first of all when russ ordered her to kill bill. (LOL! KILL BILL) And when bill made those beautiful comments bout how he wish he met lorena when she was human. (MY FAVE STUFF OF THE EPISODE). That struck something in her I thought she would end up letting bill go but not to be. We saw eric do what he could to keep sookie safe and out of the way while still being the asshole that is eric, and stick up russ’ ass to save his child. Loved him getting his revenge on Sophie-Ann shes a little bitch!! Loved seeing alcides butt!! Sam going to help his brother against the horror that is his family. Although Allan managed to make me feel sorry for them. And we got to see that tommy really does just wanna be loved!
Im not looking forward to seeing bill almost kill sookie, by accident ofcourse :(
Allan Ball managed to make every storyline interesting for me, for the first time this season. I dont think that has happened in the series thus far where I have liked every storyline. He is truely a master!!!

  18. gray says:

King russ is no fool! Im sure he would have over heard sookie and erics argument. Heard the tension, on top of the fact that lorena told him about erics infatuation earlier in the season. Eric is sucking up to russ way too much. He is almost 3,000 years old. He is totally on to every1 I bet you!!!

  19. NotHoney says:

Can anyone identify the music playing behind this teaser? And does anyone else think Nan Flannagan is one of The Authority?

  20. lizzie1701 says:

I loved this episode and the preview looks great too! I loved it so much that I still have a tension headache!

I loved every Bill moment – I will stick with him thriugh thick and thin. Ihope Eric keeps on being an ar*sehole but I guess he will be a big part of S4. I can appreciate Eric, but don’t like him.

That scene between Bill and Lorena – how tragic.

Sookie had a look at the dossier and she still went after Bill. She told him she loved him and for him not to die – said that they have been though a lot together!

Well, lots of Eric fans on lots of sites accused Bill of telling RE about Eric selling V and that was the reason why Fangtasia was raided. Well, QSA admitted she set Eric up. No apologies to Bill fans, though, from anyone.

At least Bill was true and admitted he loved the blood lust with Lorena back in their early days. He also said she had learnt how to be nasty by her Maker and that she, as his Maker, was trying to do the same. At least Bill was trying to change.

Laf and Jesus – well, I am sure they will come back together. Jason and Crystal? Not a favourite storyline but do like their background music beside the lake.

    Dogfighting storyline? Nah.

Good on you Tara for bashing Franklin, but don’t think you did a good job.

Poor Talbot having his house wrecked!

Poor Bill being so desperate to save Sookie that he felt he had to do something, so killed the guard and tried to kill RE. Eric only looked that way (horror) because he wants to be the one to kill RE! Pam, also.

Anyhow, a great episode. Not looking forward to seeing crying Bill at the hospital!

  21. Liz79 says:

What a great episode! The Lorena/Bill scenes were heartbreaking. It really struck me as a kind of allegory for child abuse. Lorena had a “cruel” maker who taught her nothing but violence and she perpetuated that abuse with her own child. The question now is how will Bill handle his new relationship with his own child? Will he break that cycle? That scene was fraught with so many emotions. It was beautifully written, shot, and acted.

I am Team Bill all the way. I am 100% invested in Bill and I hope he can navigate the dangers, both physical and emotional, of being a relatively new vampire; one with very limited power. I find it fascinating to see him deal with all the things thrown at him. People call him rash but I think he must be incredibly smart to have lived this long surrounded by vampires who are thousands of years old and who impose their will on him.

Though I am squarely in Bill’s camp I’m also a BIG fan of Eric. He is a fantastic, highly entertaining character and, to me, a great flip to Bill. What I like about both of them is that they are both a wonderful shade of grey. I can see where Bill is coming from and what motivates him. I can also see where Eric is coming from and what motivates him. I think what’s fascinating is not that people are blinded by who their favorite vamp is, which of course they probably are, but by who they want to end up with Sookie. I think for those of us who are invested in the outcome of this romantic triangle we need to justify to ourselves that the “best” vamp gets her. We need to justify the actions of our favorite and vilify the actions of the other. But life isn’t that simple? Is either one of them the “bad” guy? I say no. They just approach life and Sookie from different angles. And we have the fun option or picking our favorite.

What’s interesting is that people are wondering if Sookie will forgive Bill. But we see that it is Bill telling her that he can’t give her the life she may want or deserve. He has repeatedly asked others, Alcide and Eric, to take care of Sookie. To take her away. To keep her safe. He puts her safety over his desire to be with her. And for that I will always love him. I don’t think the impediment to a continuing Bill and Sookie relationship is just Sookie’s ability to forgive Bill but also how Bill see’s his role in her life.

To me what I’m most interested in is will Bill finally find some measure of peace? Does that peace lie with Sookie? Or perhaps with a better maker/child relationship with Jessica? Can he have both? Or is it his fate to end up with neither. That is what keeps me watching.

    • cr says:

Thank you, that was most excellent.

    • TeamSookie says:

Very nicely put, I do think the hate gets a bit much and truth is that if we blame the other sometimes people feel like it justifies their favorite vamps actions but doesn’t take away from what they do. I don’t HATE Bill, and at times can sympathize with him but see his mistakes too. Same with Eric though, I am a fan of his but I can also see his mistakes. I just don’t understand the excusing any behavior just because it’s our favorite vamps and I see this on both sides. Hey I love my husband but I wouldn’t excuse any behavior of his lol and I would hope ALL women would also not excuse any behavior just because someone loves them. That is exactly why some women are in horrible situations because they always use the excuse “but he loves me” but that is a whole other topic lol.

I think the one thing Bill has been wanting and searching for is his humanity, to feel as he felt before he was turned. For the first time since he was turned, he was able to feel that when he met Sookie. She is the first person to see just the good in him and make him feel human again. It’s also the reason he will fight so hard and do anything, to lose her is to lose his humanity once again(as we’ve already seen) After finally getting what you’ve been searching for your whole vamp existence, and then to possibly losing it, it becomes a fight for the person he loves and to hold on to the person he wants to be. To Bill humanity is a life he longs for.

With Eric, he has spent his existence hiding his humanity and pushing away any side of that which shows up. He was taught there is only survival from Godric, and to survive in the vampire world then you need to dominate your feelings because it can only lead to vulnerability which can lead to your demise. So to Eric, humanity within himself can mean death and goes against everything he was taught. Yes I know Godric’s message at the end but that was Godric after 2000 years, before that when Eric was with him, his views were different. To him Sookie represents everything he was taught to stay away from, it brings up feelings of being human, and to show these feelings only makes him vulnerable and in order to survive he has to put those feelings aside because he knows what can happen if you are not being rational. So now it comes down to how long can he hold on to the person he has been for 1000 years, what he was taught by Godric, or will his feelings for Sookie eventually dominate and go against everything he has been.

    • Twitche says:

Liz79 – I just wanted to say what a wonderful comment. As Bill would say, “I concur.” To me this show is so much more than teams. I think the whole team mentality, while fun initially, has become shallow. It is so much more enjoyable to figure out the motives and understand each character.

      Thank you!

    • gattopardo says:

wonderful comment liz, it echoes exactly what I think. Both bill and eric are great characters and I enjoy both immensely. If there is one thing I love about true blood is that fabulous shade of grey you speak of. The characters are, for the most part, capable of the best and the worse, of channelling their hidden depths of feeling to despicable or sublime actions, words and thoughts. And that is one of my favourite things about TB.

    • Sarah B says:

That was wonderfully put I love both Bill and Eric..
