This morning we went to the Sync Up Conference in New Orleans at the New Orleans Art Museum to listen to today’s panel that included a keynote speech by Eric Overmyer (co-developer of HBO’s Treme), Gary Calamar (music supervisor of True Blood), Blake Leyh (music supervisor of Treme), Kevin Griffin of Better Than Ezra & John W. Comerfor, indie producer.

We learned from Gary Calamar that one of the songs seriously considered for the True Blood theme song was C.C. Adcock’s “Bleed 2 Feed,” which Adcock had personally submitted for the production’s consideration.

“He’s a great musician and a great – I don’t know if hustler is the right word — hustler in the best sense of the word,” Calamar said.

They finally agreed to use Jace Everette’s Bad Things… but y’all know that. Hear the interchange here:

When I read about this yesterday I was hoping you’d attend! I feel bad that CC lost the theme song competition ’cause I love his music and Bleed 2 Feed. Is he playing at Jazz Fest? Did you get to hear him? ’cause that’d make me pea-green with envy!

Thanks for the report and vid.

Hey NH, did not see CC at the fest, but I do have a bunch of pics and more vids of the Treme crew. I just haven’t had the time to post anything more than this yet…
