Hey, i have a question, and i would like it SENSIBLY responded to, so here goes:
Do you think if Anna and Stephen were NOT getting married in real life, that the arguements over Teams would not be so heated and aggresive? I have noticed (not so much on this site, but on the True Blood FB page, for example) a lot of people say “oh Bill and Sookie are meant to be together, because they’re getting married in real life, it’s meant to be, true love etc etc etc”… What do you guys think?
I actually find at times that Bill and Sookie’s chemistry slightly forced on True Blood…. maybe it’s the corny accents! But photos of them out and about, the chemistry is really obvious. I’m Team Eric all the way, but i think Anna and Stephen look gorgeous and HAPPY together in real life, but it doesn’t taint my need for Sookie and Eric to bump uglies at least once on True Blood.
I also wonder whether Alan Ball is influenced by their real life romance?

foliage, I think it would be just as heated. I see so many fans wishing for book 4 during season 1, 2 & 3. I think the book people simply just want their Eric/Sookie and they want it farking now. (So they have grown impatient.) I also think that season 1 was so well done that it sort of came as a surprise to some viewers how intense the Bill/Sookie relationship looked when filmed.
I do feel there is an evolution among only TV viewers from Bill to Eric, and that started to happen last year when Bill was all impotent grey and crusty looking whilst Eric was shown as pinky sexy. This year is meant to be sort of a leveling field I believe.
I’d agree with that 100% Lividity. Definitely this is a leveling of the playing field. If I want to see what an impartial viewer thinks I ask my boyfriend and his best friend. They are both loving Bill and Eric and really, in their 10 words or less way, think this season is “cool.” Last season not so much. But they definitely swung in Eric’s direction last season but have mentioned just how much they are enjoying “badass” Bill this season. Every time I mention Teams the automatically think I’m talking Twilight. It’s funny :)

Yeah, I agree. I think that is a bit extreme. Their romance off screen should, and I believe doesn’t, have any bearing on what is shown onscreen. I find Alex and Anna have great banter and Stephen and Anna have great intensity. But I find both their interactions and chemistry very entertaining. I have to say I’m a huge fan of Bill/Eric scenes because it positively crackles with heat. I do get a kick out of the fact that they are buddies in real life and must admit to a desire to see them come to some kind of understanding. What I like most about Alex and Stephen is that they play their respective roles to the hilt. Real commitment. Love it. They are all professional’s so obviously they can separate their personal lives and work. In my opinion Stephen and Anna are Stephen and Anna and Bill and Sookie are Bill and Sookie. One doesn’t affect the other.

I really agree totally! Eric and sookie scenes are awkward and stupid. The chemestry between Bill and Sookie are hot and eclectric. When ever Stephen and Anna get on screen together it is intense, smoken, and explosive. This was there from day one before they were even together. Alan said he picked Stephen because of the way he looked at Anna. When Alex was in the scene with Anna in fangtasia it was really awkward. When i heard that people want EN and SS together my first thought was NO WAY! I thought that they were out of there minds. Anyone with eyes can see that Bill and Sookie look better together. Sorry but I can not stumach Eric and Sookie together. He is not boyfriend material. If they do make the mistake and put them together it will not last. She will find out whata slime he is and kick him to the curb. Sorry to you Eric fans. Ilike his character but NOT WITH SOOKIE!.

Well I can only answer for myself foliage, but while I think Stephen and Anna are absolutely adorable in real life, it doesn’t really play into why I want Bill and Sookie together. For me, I did see the chemistry between the characters immediately and I just don’t get the same vibe between Anna and Alex. I’m not saying there is no chemistry but when I watch Sookie and Eric together I am much more aware of the fact that I am watching actors. Whereas when I watch Bill and Sookie together I do see more of a “connection” between the two – maybe it is their real-life romance spilling into the show, I don’t know. Whatever it is, the chemistry is real and exists.
As far as though that claim that it MUST be Bill and Sookie because of Anna/Stephen… well… fans come in all stripes and flavors, no? That just seems a little extreme. While Alan seems to be tickled by Anna/Stephen, I can only assume that as a successful Hollywood writer and producer that he is going to stick to what he thinks is best for the show regardless of off-screen pairings.
i SO AGREE! Like I said it has been there from day one. No matter what they throw at them they are soul mates. The writer of TB has even said that. There real life romance helps with the on screen chemestry. I do not get the Eric angle at all. They need to find a woman for Eric. Maybe Hadley will hook up with Him. I know she likes girls but some people are by to. Just ask Anna.

Also, if she goes with Eric in S4, he is not the real Eric – he plays someone like Bill, from what I gather in the books! Sookie will come to her senses and know where her heart lies!

I see the pics and think DAMN AS is looking good, but I don’t think eh about SM and say come on AS is so much better and for me it’s just my choice. When I hear someone go on about SM, I don’t think what is wrong with you? can’t you see AS is better looking at his blah blah blah, i just think ok we have different taste and move on. I don’t feel the need to prove who is better looking. I love SM and think he is great, I have nothing against him so why put him down to build someone up.

Dont forget that most people didnt know they were together as Steve and Anna had the forsight to keep it quiet. So I doubt it had anything to do with the way the stories were or are written.
Again I say Eric and Sookie are not right for each other. Eric is a great character. Alex does a great job, but lets enjoy the bad boy and not make him all sweet and cuddly, he will lose his edge and appeal. Sookie is Bill’s love and it shows.

But AB, CH, and even Sm himself have said that neither are all good or all bad. They are both flawed characters that you will see many sides too. To me that is much more interesting than watching the same character acting the same exact way season after season. That goes for all characters, it becomes monotonous and who wants that. If the people on the show don’t go through changes and show different layers to their characters then it will become boring and unpredictable. A character with many layers is so much more interesting than one-dimensional characters. Sure it works for a 2 hour movie to see the bad guy act the same way the entire time with one thing on his mind. A show that goes on for years though, nobody wants to see that, the bad guy would becoming annoying and so would the good guy. There needs to be character growth and development or else the show will suffer.
What pisses me off is when anna poses with alex she always looks hotter then when shes posing with stephen. Shes also in a more sexier posistion pushed into alex then just standing infront of stephen
and shes waering white with stephen and red with alex.

Jonie-it’s not that serious, don’t let it get to you that much. I think both covers look hott and all 3 look great. I think with SM/AP they wanted to represent B/S as pure love which is the reason for the white dress and show more of an innocence to them to help represent pure love.
With Alex they used red to show lust since on the show this is what we’ve seen with the two. Also E/S haven’t done anything on the show so their responses to each other would be a little bit different than a couple already together. With someone you’re already with, you don’t feel the need to be all over them at every given moment. Someone you lust after when given the opportunity, it’s desires you’ve held in for a while and that can’t keep your hands off feeling. But doesn’t take away from B/S at all and besides both covers look good.
All the pictures look amazing and i may be in a minority here but i don’t really care who Sookie ends up with as long as the quality of the wonderful writing / acting on the show remains the same !
Ok if pushed my preference will always be for Bill/SM but not necessarily for his relationship with Sookie ….

Just got home to read the conversation that i started earlier today, I like it when people are sensible!
I do think that the fact that both Stephen and Alex play their roles so perfectly is part of the reason there is such an uproar. They are just so damn believable, corny accents or not! I think the ongoing flirtation between Eric/Sookie is great, and i do look forward to when they finally have their ‘shower scene’, but if thats all they have then so be it. The dynamics of the love triangle (and i don’t think it’s quite a square yet, no matter how ridiculously good looking Alcide is) is what makes this show so watchable. I believe that when the show becomes a documentary on a happy easy relationship, it will become boring television.
What I don’t like is the bullshit one eyed fans who can’t accept other’s opinions or needs or desires etc. Hence the request to keep it sensible.
Thanks peeps, i was starting to get turned off this website due to the constant bickering. All i can ask is that all the people who can’t accept one team or the other, or can’t provide constructive and mature dialogue, piss off elsewhere.
