The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®, is not simply a fundraiser, it is an emotional celebration of courageous breast cancer survivors and a memorial for those who have lost their battle with the disease.  It raises awareness of the importance of early detection and self advocacy and provides funding for national breast cancer research and local breast cancer treatment.

Since its origination in Dallas in 1983, the Komen for the Cure® Series has grown from one local Race with 800 participants to a series of more than 100 Races with more than one million people expected to participate. Thousands joined us in March 2009, and we look forward to that number increasing in March 2010 so that we can work together to live in a world without breast cancer.
