Fiona Shaw has been cast as Marnie, a mousy, timid and secretly self loathing storefront medium and palm reader who is taken over by the spirit of a powerful witch.
From casting call: Marnie is a Z-list palm reader who’s painfully aware of what a joke she is — that is, until she comes to be possessed by the spirit of a real witch.
The character was originally envisioned younger but is being adjusted for Shaw. Series regular.

Courtney Ford has been cast as Andy Bellefleur’s sister Portia. Portia is a classic Southern beauty who runs her own law practice.
From casting call: Andy’s sister, Portia, is as easy on the eyes as she is sharp in the courtroom.

Janina Gavankar has joined True Blood‘s upcoming fourth season as a regular playing Luna, a super-sexy public school teacher and shapeshifter who is first seen attending an informational gathering with others like her.

Alexandra Breckenridge, a noted voiceover artist who can regularly be heard on Fox’s Family Guy, will play recurring character Daisy, a member of a wiccan group founded by Marnie.

Vedette Lim has come on board as recurring character Naomi, a fierce fighter who participates in underground cage matches for money.
From casting call: Naomi is an Asian-American cage fighter who, outside of the ring…er, cage…is hot-’n’-heavy with one of her female competitors.

Brandon Molale, will portray Officer Featherstone in True Blood season 401 & 402: “She’s Not There” and “You Smell Like Dinner.”

Randy Wayne will be playing Matt in True Blood season 401 & 402: “She’s Not There” and “You Smell Like Dinner.”

Chris Butler has been cast as Emory Broome, a prissy and conservative shapeshifter with his own agenda.
Christina Moore will be playing Suzanne McKittrick in True Blood season 4. Suzanne is a WASPy housewife who possesses certain special abilities. Probably like Samantha on Bewitched!
Suzanne McKittrick is a Real Housewives type who throws a hootenanny to bond with “her kind.”

Neil Hopkins has been cast as one of the characters that book fans have all been waiting for: Claude, Claudine’s (Lara Pulver) brother.

Dane DeHaan will play Timbo, one of the teens Jason (Ryan Kwanten) takes care of in Hotshot.
Rebecca Wisocky (90210) will play Queen Mab, who is described as an elegant beauty who presides over a fantasy land and also has a temper.
Paola Turbay has joined HBO’s drama True Blood in the recurring role of Antonia. What we know about Antonia is that she’s in her 20s to 40s, is FIERCE and she speaks fluent Spanish. She’ll first appear in episode 2 and then again in episodes 3,4,5 and 6.
Actor Darren Darnborough has been cast as Callum, a British bartender seen in flashback to London in 1982. He bartends in a punk underground nightclub.
Looks like Darren will show up in episode 2, “You Smell Like Dinner.”
Sam Horrigan will play the fangbanger:
[FANGBANGER] This hot, stupid man enjoys being bitten by Pam and shouts out commands to her. He’s disappointed when she takes off…
Sam will show up in episode 3, “If You Love Me, Why Am I Dyin’?”

Aubrey Deeker will give life to a vampire.
[VAMPIRE] This leering vampire is caught on tape feeding on a woman. He’s desperate to escape the dire consequences…8 lines, 2 scenes
Aubrey will show up in episode 3, “If You Love Me, Why Am I Dyin’?”
Brian Treitler will be the camera operator:
[CAMERA OPERATOR] In his 20s, righteous and bearded, a somewhat dimwitted yokel, he’s seen on a grainy YouTube video, making underground films of vampires feeding, thus entrapping them. The camera operator loves being on camera to promote his cause of warning America about vampires…1 speech & 1 line, 1 scene
Sam will show up in episode 3, “If You Love Me, Why Am I Dyin’?”

Daniel Buran will be portraying the werewolf packmaster, Raoul of Shreveport

Aaron Perilo will show up in True Blood episode 5, “I Hate You, I Love You” as someone called Blackburn. There is some controversy as to whether the name here is correct.

Bradley Dodds will portray Lloyd in True Blood episode 4:01, “She’s Not There.”

Fiona Dourif will play the role of Casey in three episodes: “She’s Not There,” “If You Love Me, Why Am I Dying” and “You Smell Like Dinner.” She looks witchy no?

Heather George will play Corner Coach in True Blood episode 4:01 “She’s Not There.”

Ricki Noel Lander portrays Servant Faerie in True Blood episode 4:01 “She’s Not There.”

Gary Sievers will reprise his role of Hot Shot Hillbilly (uncredited last year) in True Blood episode 4:01 “She’s Not There.”

Caryll Lynn plays an unnamed Hillbilly in episode 4:01 “She’s Not There.”
Jeremy Cohenour is Fangtasia Protester #1 which I believe corresponds with the following casting call:
[MALE PROTESTOR #1] This male protestor, 5’8″ tall at most, pickets Fangtasia and starts a physical fight with a “fangbanger.”
A clip of this was shown at Paley. Jeremy’s scene is in episode 4:02 “You Smell Like Dinner.”
Poncho Hodges is Officer Trap in True Blood episodes 4:02 “You Smell Like Dinner” and 4:05 “I Hate You, I Love You.”

Marcus McGee will appear as James in True Blood episode 4:02, “You Smell Like Dinner.”

Rene Napoli will show up in True Blood episode 4:02, “You Smell Like Dinner” as a Merlotte’s Customer.

Dahlia Waingort will be Medieval Woman and Witch and will appear in True Blood episode 4:05, “I Hate You, I Love You” and in episode 4:06 “I Wish I Was The Moon.”

The character of Luis Patino will be played by actor Peter Macdissi. The character Patino is “a vampire sheriff in Louisiana, who harbors a troubled past with ties to the Spanish Inquisition, torture, and the witches that are settling in Bon Temps.”
Peter has worked with Alan Ball before in Towelhead and Six Feet Under.
Gary Cole will be portraying Sookie & Jason’s grandfather Earl Stackhouse. We are so entirely excited for this. Sadly, rumor has it he’s only in one episode. We hope not.

[CAROLINE BELLEFLEUR] In her 70s, Caucasian, formidable, refined, and beautifully dressed, she is Portia’s (Courtney Ford) grandmother who dislikes vampires but warms to Bill’s charm. Guest Star.

Glad they are different to the book descriptions!!
marnie is in the book?? I’ll have to go back & find the name! Which book?
I don’t think marnie is in any of thre books…I don’t remember her anyway..I could be wrong…
I know I need to go back and reread when she enters the scene, but I think that Hallow’s real name was Marnie? Anyone can confirm this before I check the book?
Marine is Hallow’s real name. Book 4 ‘Dead to the World’.
Marnie isn’t in the books. This looks like another twist by AB. But an interesting one! Hallow was a v-juice drinking Were witch. Not a pleasant person. No, not at all.
Sorry, Marnie is in the books. See Bruni’s 11/18 comment below.
I don’t remember a marnie. But I do remember Hallow. I’m wondering if that was the fake name she used when she brought the missing photo of Eric to Merlottes. I’m curious to. If you know i would love to know.
wow I finally got something to post. I hate only using this phone. I wish some folks would get along on this site. The petty bickering takes away from these lovely ladie’s work!
I adore True Blood, but I wish they would do what they did with the Harry Potter books and stay closer to the books. I am so in love with Ms. harris’ characters and how she lovingly developes them. But as to Fiona Shaw playing in this series? YES, she’s very talented and will bring a lot to the show!
For those of you wondering, Marnie is in the books. Hallow’s real name was Marnie Stonebrook and her brother’s name was Mark Stonebrook.
My mistake! Sorry.
Imve just tead that book & I sure don’t remember that Manie was Hallow’s real name. Thank you SO much. This is one of the reasons when I like something as much as these books I read them more than once. Just like True Blood I watch the episopdes several times.
I only hope with all the character additions Stephen Moyer is not lost in the shuffle – more and more layering could only mean less and less time he is on the screen – part of the reason again that I loved True Blood was the relationship with Sookie and Bill so sexy – so loving – even with all the hidden agenda – Stephen Moyer should be in a romantic movie – when I saw Starter Wife where he looked unbelievable – just that one line – and if means anything to you at all I would love to make love to you – wow – he is just so romantic! Sorry that’s my take.
Fortunately or unfortunately in the books Bill does become a secondary character now. Eric is the main male character with Sookie. I adore Bill. He won’t be lost he (Steven Moyer) is too loved by folks like me. Alan Ball is deffinately NOT stupid he’ll make sure he’s quite visible!
I was channel surfing and came upon the movie Three Men and a Little Lady (the sequel to Three Men and a Baby). The school English Mistress comes on screen and I thought she looked familar. It’s Fiona Shaw the soon to be Witch on True Blood. She’s gonna be great in the series!!
Wasn’t Luna a character in book no. 2? The shapeshifter helping Sookie get out of the FOTS church?
The cast, so far, tells me we’ll have some major changes from the books.
The actor portraing Claude is sooo cool. Not the way I iamgined, nor the way Charlaine Harries described Claude in the books, but even better. I was really wondering if they were getting Claude in the series.
Yep, Luna was indeed in book 2. It’s so much fun to compare what AB is doing against the original work.
Also, Welcome to the site Andre!
Sorry, I meant “imagined”
Is the series different from the books?
How can I be in True Blood?
I hope they throw in Felipe De Castro.hes a mean motherfucker in the books.gotta get a real good actor for his part though.
CLAUDE!!
im so excited!
I can’t wait for Quinn to be cast (if they do at all)! I know a lot of people think Vin Diesel is the best choice, but with all the theatrics in the books, I picture a bald Billy Zane for Quinn…can’t wait for the new season!
I soooo hope they will put Quinn in the series I have a hard time deciding who should play him…..I think Vin Diesel might be a little too bad ass for him he does have a sensitive side you know. hmmmmmm
yeah, i wonder who’ll get to play Quinn..
andrew mclaren would make a perfect quinn i guess.. :)
I read some speculation on another site that Emory Broome is really Quinn and I have to agree they have a point. Have a look at the photo of the guy playing Emory, for me at least he looks pretty much exactly how I pictured Quinn from the books. Plus he’s a shapeshifter. I know Alan Ball has said that fake casting calls have been put out to throw people off the scent, so it wouldn’t surprise me if Emory Broome is just the name they used to throw book fans off the scent of it really being Quinn. Or maybe they changed his name for the show.
If AB explores the underground cage fighting world(Naomi) then Quinn will definitely be around. I have a feeling it’s gonna be the guy cast as Officer X, Brandon Molale, as his physical description matches Quinn’s (6’4″, very athletic) as opposed to Chris Butler’s Emory Broome who’s described as a button down, conservative shape shifter.
just wondering if anyone knows when season 4 comes out in australia? cant find out any info
Have you found out if they found Caroline Bellefluer yet? I truly can’t wait to see that one!
I hadn’t checked this file for a little bit & SO much was added! I reaaly need to do it more often. I think the guy they have playing Claude is gorgeous, but remember Claude is part of the twin set (well origionally triplet) with Claudine. The book always mentions rippling black hair. Why are they making the packmaster so young?? He’s “supposed” to be retired Air Force, and they’ll need that for the “Were War” when (as we all know will happen) in the next season! I adore True Blood, but the books are SO good I hope they stick to them.
chrisluvsBill,
The packmaster mentioned here is for a different area. He is the packmaster for Shreveport, Louisiana, where Eric and Pam live, not Jackson, Mississippi, where Alcide lives. The packmaster you are referring to from the books is for the Jackson, Mississippi pack that Alcide is part of. Different areas have different wolf packs, thus different packmasters.
Even if I thought that Claude would be different from the actor Neil Hopkins, I’m so exited and he looks hot. By the way, I hope that Eric will have amnesia if you know what I mean. (you know what will happen next !)
Ok, so it looks like they’re going to go with part of the book. I saw the interview where Alex said that he was challenged to play Eric so different and talked about how he was. I’m so excited. That’s the Eric I want to see right now. It follows so well in future books. I wonder will Sookie in the show give in to this Eric. Time will tell. Can we wait? NOPW
I about shat myself when I got to see the 1st EIGHT minutes of season 4 episode 1 on HBO Video On Demand!!! I also can’t BELIEVE that we’re going to get to watch episode 2 of the 4th season on HBO GO and VOD. DYING HERE!!!!!
I pictured Claude and Claudine to be much more dark in and sexy/sultry then they have been cast and wonder if Niall will make an appearance ever??? Has this been covered? I live, live live for TB and devour the books oer and over. I love Charliene’s work but respect that Alan Ball needs to twist and turn us thru the show to keep us guessing. I just truly hope that the whole with thing dosen’t AT ALL replicate the Maryanne/ Maenad debacle! <—-Spelling?
I'll be here blogging all season and all week for the next 14-15 weeks just counting the minutes til' sunday rolls around again. My hubby even knows that on Sunday nights during TB season (he's a fan too) thishouse is on lock down with nothing but good food, a flat panel and and a few vamps and fairies that I love to death! (pun intended!)
By the way I love Bill but I’m TEAM ERIC!!!
I am totally for Bill –the character. I love Alex, but I didn’t like Eric in the books and don’t like his character in the show….Sorry. I also love the Sookie character of course, but she needs to get over herself a bit. She seems to need too many guy after her to be happy at all.
I love the movie and the books. I think HBO did a great job in their casting of such wonderful characters. The actors have done a wonderful job in bringing trueblood to life for all their fans. keep up the good work!!!!
have they read the true blood books??? like i just finished them and i dont reconise many of thos names like who the hell is trever??? but i like the choice of portia, claulde and miss caroline bellfleur.
