British actress Lara Pulver has been cast in the role of Claudine. Who’s Claudine you ask? Well this is going to sound pretty damn silly, she’s Sookie’s fairy godmother. I know, right? Don’t blame me I didn’t write it, but I do trust Alan Ball to do it right. Claudine will be showing up in episode 7, “Let The Bodies Hit The Floor.”
Here’s the casting call for her character: [Claudine] 30′s-40′s. A beautiful, kind and loving figure who knows a lot about Sookie – she appears to Sookie in a golden vision. However, their utopia is abruptly dismantled when Claudine issues Sookie a mysterious warning. Possibly Recurring.

Well, this will be interesting! I wonder if they will tie in the missing scene from S1? Didn’t that person have blonde hair? I don’t know. Maybe Claudine is eternal, and maybe Sookie is as well. This may mean that Sookie may not age and can be with Bill for ever??? Just speculating!
If fairies live long in AB’s world and Sookie has some or all of their powers, I would expect and want her to have a longer life too. Maybe not immortal, but long enough it would seem it to humans.
Even in the missing scene, the supposed Claudine was a brunette.
I’m sure this actress will do great – and no offense to her, but not being a fan of the fairy storyline, the only thing that I can say is that “possibly recurring” seems like they’re not sure how big the fairy thing is going to be at this point.
Let’s hope AB doesn’t make a big deal of the whole fairy thing, of which I admittedly know little (but enough to register and “ick” factor).
I’m with you on this one Liv, I’m not a big fan of the fae thing either. I want AB to give us background on Sookie’s ancestry, but that’s about it. I’ll be cheering for immense changes from the books.
I’m pretty fond of the fairy storyline in the books. It’s bloody and brutal, the way fairies should be done. As long as they stick close to that theme, and there’s no reason to think they wouldn’t make it as brutal as possible, this *is* HBO, I approve.
I liked Claudine a lot in the books so I’m hoping that they expand her role. Who wouldn’t want a fairy Godmother?
I like Claudine too! I would have rather not had them expand Maryann the maenad. I did not like her character or storyline. She took up too much of season 2 for other better stories.
I for one am so beyond happy that there is a character named Claudine on television. I’ve been waiting my whole life for this one, LOL! And I couldn’t have imagined a better one :) Thank you Charlaine Harris for creating her in the first place :)
I WANT IAN SOMERHALDER FOR CLAUDE!!!!! he even looks like this girl…
OMG, I agree that would be a great fit. HOT!!!!
I’m as torn between the fairy sl as I am between Eric and Bill.
She is very pretty and I am sure will make a fine Caludine. As to how far AB will take the whole fairy story, only time will tell.
now that’s a better photo than one I saw earlier on another site.
I agree though I don’t find her to be irresistible as they portray her in the books
