We have been involved with EJ’s campaign for CHM for about a month now, but this week was special as I had the pleasure of participating in a radio interview where we spotlighted the disease and EJ’s campaign for the cure. Many fans have joined hands to help EJ’s cause and we thank all of you.

Bill’s Wiki’d Women appeared on Encounters Paranormal Radio on Sunday, August 2nd (watch re-broadcast) to bring awareness and raise more funds for EJ’s cause. The fans showed up in numbers and even sacrificed the first showing of Sunday’s True Blood show; the support was truly heartfelt. Please be patient if you sent an email; we are still going through them.

For more information on the disease, you can read our article from last month here (read article). EJ, Deborah Ann Woll’s boyfriend, has a hereditary eye disease, CHM. This disease attacks the peripheral vision and slowly erodes it over time until total blindness finally occurs. This disease runs in families and it has already affected many of EJ’s loved ones.

EJ was diagnosed in March of 2003 and has been slowly building an army to bring awareness and funding to combat the disease. Since EJ started his “Dropping Calories for a Cure” campaign, he has lost 15.4lbs and has $79.95 per lb in sponsorships.

Also, today I had the privilege of speaking with my penpal, Cory MacDonald, the President of the CHM foundation. It was the best hour of my day. After speaking with Cory, I wanted to make sure everyone had a better understanding of what this disease does.

In addition to attacking whole families, imagine seeing life through a straw. As the disease progresses it erodes the peripheral vision; soon EJ and members of EJ’s family will be seeing life through a drinking straw, then eventually that small tunnel of vision will close into blackness.
