Alexander Woo, True Blood writer extraordinaire, was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Writing in a Dramatic Series for season 2 episode 12, Beyond Here Lies Nothin. Sadly, he lost to Shonda Rhimes, creator and writer for Grey’s Anatomy. Wait, when’s the last time anyone actually watched that show? I guess it’s still good? Anyone know?

never watched a single Grey’s Anatomy! I know-impossible right?

I’ve never watched it either. Another boring ass hospital show, yawn. Thanks Aem for watching the award ceremony, I know it must have been tedious as fuck.

The story line for TB is so authentic, novel…how can anyone resist? It takes fantasy and makes it seem so real. I am hoping that one night I will walk into the mall and run in to a vampire!!! A dark headed one of course!
It is my fondest wish that as the seasons progress the show will pick up even more steam and finally sway the critics who still have their heads up their blinders on, tight, drama **** and allow in the drama/fantasy that really packs the punch or fang!
There certainly is anti True Blood out there! Or AB’s pissed someone off!
Lizzie-if I may-the loss of this award is not about anti-True Blood at all! if anything it is ‘pro’-True Blood and ‘pro’ recognitioin of Alex Woo’s work re: revealing the richness beneath the surface of ‘types’ we would normally have no sympathy;empathy for. think of Bill in Sparks Fly Out. Then he brings all of the different stories together to fight the Maenad in Beyond Here Lies Nothing. Maybe there was a better story this year somewhere else, but Alex did some hella good writing. just havin’ my say.

What a bummer. It was an excellent cliffhanger. I can’t wait till S3 kicks off. Greys Anatomy is overrated. I still watch it but it’s more out of habit than any particular wish to follow the plot. I was never into vampire movies or TV shows till a friend suggested I watch TB and then I got so hooked I didn’t leave the house for 2 days to watch the DVD! Keep up the great work cast and crew!

Sadly I wasted time when Greys Anatomy started here in New Zealand a while back, now Id rather stare at a blank screen…. its just like the rest of the Hospital shows…
