Carrie Preston has a really great job – she goes off to work and spends the day (and night) with some of Hollywood’s sexiest men. People asked her which one she thought was the hottest, and Carrie replied, “They are all gorgeous. We have some beautiful men of all different body types. All of them are attractive in different ways. We’ve got tall. We’ve got ripped. We’ve got more delicate.”

Of Joe Manganiello, who plays werewolf Alcide, Preston laughs and says, “Yeah, his body is pretty amazing.”

Resident Bon Temps ladies’ man Jason Stackhouse also turns up the heat on set. “We all kind of marvel at Ryan’s body,” Preston says, “because nobody is quite sure how he gets that body.”

Still, there is pressure for the guys to look their best. “Lately in Hollywood the bar is set so high for men,” says Preston. “At lunch I’ll hear the guys talking about how they’re staying away from carbs and what exercise they are doing and who their trainer is.”

Carrie doesn’t have to worry too much about her girlish figure in Season three because ““The whole season is very much about [my character] grappling with being pregnant. It’s unexpected and Arlene is having to figure out what she has to do,” says Preston. “We’re finally getting to see a more intimate side to my character. It’s a season about identity, about soul-searching, about internal conflict.”

Yesterday, the True Blood cast including Todd Lowe, Carrie Preston & husband Michael Emerson, Sam Trammell, Chris Bauer and Nelsan Ellis celebrated with the American Red Cross the upcoming True Blood’s Season 3. The party was held at H Lounge in West Hollywood, California.

Bon Temps may be a small, southern town, but there’s been a population boom on True Blood‘s set. In addition to an already extensive cast of regulars, the new faces for Season 3 include Alcide and his psycho-ex Debbie Pelt, Sam’s mother and brother, Bill’s human wife Caroline, the King of Mississippi (along with his long-time consort and rent-a-boy), Claudine, Franklin Mott, Lafayette’s love interest Jesus, a host of werewolves (including one hilariously named Cooter), Holly, Crystal, Calvin Norris, and Yvetta.

And that’s just some of the new additions. It’s exhausting listing them – how on earth will it play out on screen? Even Carrie Preston admitted she wondered if it’d be too much: “I would go to table reads, and there would be 30 people sitting there, and I thought, ‘How are they going to juggle this?’ And then we saw the first episode cut together, and they totally pulled it off… We’re in good hands.”

Carrie Preston added that Season 3 unspools “at breakneck speed,” but there will be time to “go to more emotional places” with the cast, including the plain ol’ humans like Arlene.

Will you be lost without Lost? Are you hungry for more True Blood?

Carrie Preston and her husband, Michael Emerson (famed for his portrayal of Dr. Ben Linus on Lost), are performing a benefit this summer for one night only at the newly reopened Dock Street Theatre in Charleston.

On July 31st, they’ll star in a two-person play by A.R. Gurney, Love Letters, which seems rather ideal for married actors.

Tickets start at $125 and include a pre-show reception. Premium ticket-holders are invited to a post-show reception with both Carrie Preston and Michael Emerson.

Carrie Preston and her husband Michael Emerson were at the “Lost Live”: The Final Celebration yesterday, May 13′th. It was held at UCLA’s Royce Hall and honoured the “Lost” composer Michael Giacchino. An early screening of the final episode was shown, along with pivotal scenes from the past and the show’s most memorable tunes. Actors from the past and present showed up and all proceeds went to benefit The Colburn School for the performing arts in L.A.

Victoria’s Secret held a party for their revealing of the 5′th annual “What Is Sexy?” list last night on May 11′th. And guess who won “Sexiest TV Cast”? Obviously you don’t have to fry your brain coming up with the answer….that’s right, True Blood did!

Sam Trammell accepted the award in honour of our favourite TV show. Also showing up for the fun was Rutina Wesley, Carrie Preston and Joe Manganiello.

Carrie waves goodbye to Hawaii today!

Carrie Preston has landed a role in CBS’ “The Good Wife” reports Ausiello today. Now this could simply mean awesome news for all us Carrie Preston fans, or it could reveal, well… something else.

I hope this doesn’t mean what I think it means.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Carrie Preston — a.k.a. True Blood’s Arlene — is heading to CBS’ The Good Wife for a multi-episode arc. She’ll play Elsbeth Mann (not a typo), a member of Peter’s (Chris Noth) legal team.

The timing of Preston’s casting is sure to raise questions about the fate of her True Blood character, particularly since the HBO smash is in the midst of shooting its third season in Los Angeles. The Good Wife, meanwhile, is based in New York.

Although an HBO rep declined to comment, a TB insider cautions against declaring the vamp-hating serial bride dead and buried. “Arlene isn’t a major presence in the third book,” notes the source. “A lot of the action takes place outside of Bon Temps, so [Carrie] probably had some free time on her hands.”

I like that theory better. Besides, Alan Ball wouldn’t dare kill off Merlotte’s only dependable waitress.

Carrie Preston was interviewed by Lance Carter of the DailyActor. In the interview, Carrie talks about how she chose to become an actress, her education at Julliard, working on Broadway, and of course, True Blood. I include an excerpt below:

She’s currently filming season 3 of True Blood and she took some time out to talk to me about Broadway, how she prepares for a role and yes, True Blood.

Let’s talk about True Blood for a second.  When you first read the part, did the character immediately jump out at you?  Because you’re perfect at it.
