Stephen Moyer did an interview with (UK) Now magazine (26th October 2009). Several of the questions asked were, shall we say, slightly diagonal, but Stephen was a good sport and answered all the questions presented. We transcribed the interview to save all your eyeballs from bleeding.

It’s a dream! Actually, when they said it was a vampire drama, I wasn’t sure. But if you go back and look at that first episode of season one, it’s all there.

Even when a vampire disses another vampire, he’ll never say anything about that vampire in front of other people. So the drug dealer in our show is a human, the sex addict is a human – all the people who are doing bad shit are humans. And then of course, as the show develops, we realize there’s a whole other side to the vampires that we hadn’t expected.

It says that in most of my contracts, actually! When your a young actor starting out, usually the young character is the love interest. I’ve done that for 15 years and it’s always like; how long before I get my kit off? it’s a novelty when I get to keep my clothes on! So there were make-up artists putting dirt in crevices that they thought they were never going to see…..
