Season 3 Finale Scoop from Ausiello

spoiler bannerAusiello has the latest, from Alan Ball himself, about the season finale. Since we’re talking about Alan Ball, he doesn’t give too much away (it’s hardly worth the fancy spoiler-warning), but for those who are bravely attempting to remain spoiler-free, don’t read further.

Ausiello said: “Here’s some prattle for you, straight from series creator Alan Ball: In the second half of the season, “all hell breaks loose,” he tells my colleague Tim Stack. “Certainly, everybody finds themselves in danger. Loyalties are tested. There’s a lot of deceit.” And though the lies will be spread around, the dots will connect in the end. The stories “do converge,” Ball confirms, culminating in a season finale that he calls “very big. [But] it doesn’t center around one particular event the way the first one did. The first one was all about Rene chasing Sookie. The second one was all about Maryann’s ritual. This is a lot of big events” leading up to “definitely more than one cliff-hanger.” I’m on the edge of my seat already!”

K, I am already impressed all these storylines are connected. That’s very cool, there’s already so many after one episode!

Sounds good! It has to do with the King seeing he is in the final ep. I still want to know what Sookie is doing at the King’s mansion and why with Eric?

    • TeamSookie says:

Wait, where did it say E/S will be at the king’s mansion for finale? I know they come back to BT and even RE will go after episode 6, so I’m curious how they end up back there.

      • CitizenErased says:

Dude, I have no idea where that came from and I have heard every spoiler there is. Second half of the season apparently moves back to Bon Temps/New Orleans. I’ve seen an on-set picture of Eric and Hadley in what is clearly the Queen’s palace.

As a book reader I know why Sookie and Eric are at the King’s Mansion. But what I’m most curious about is a very essential character that will not be on the show that saves everyone’s asses…that’s got to be a challenge to the writers!

    • Evichu says:

      Bubba? xd

      • Alona says:

sort of off topic here, but am I the only one (of the book-readers, that is…) that was sort off offended when Jason started using ‘Bubba’ as a nickname for Hoyt in this seasons premiere?? Like that would somehow satisfy the fans of the character from the book… I know Jason also used that nickname for someone in the season 2 finale, I think it was Andy but I’m not sure!! To me it was sorta like a slap in the face, like “book-Bubba ain’t gonna be on the show so deal with it!!”.. I totally get why they can’t have the character on the show for obvious reasons, I would be furious if they tried to use an impersonator, but I wish they would have just skipped the whole thing…
…or maybe I’m just being overly dramatic about this! LOL I tend to over-dramatize every little thing ;) haha

        • AterialFountain says:

It could actually be a clue as to Hoyt’s ultimate fate. Maybe Jessica will turn him.

          • Alona says:

Oh gawd I hope not :/ I will never forgive the writers if they make Jessica turn Hoyt… he’s perfect just the way he is!! No going fangy for him!

        • TeamSookie says:

From what I know Bubba is a very common nickname in the south. He called both Andy and Hoyt Bubba, maybe it’s just a nod to the character since he won’t be on the show and works since it’s a common thing to call someone in the south.

  4. Cranky says:

Bubba was a Bozo…and as a cat lover I’m glad he won’t be on the show. But I definitely think Jason calling Andy and Hoyt “Bubba” was a shout out to the books and the character….nothing offensive about it.
