Rev. Newlin Sr. and Family

Steve Newlin’s father, the Rev. Theodore Newlin, author, political activist, and founder of the Fellowship of the Sun, along with his wife (obviously not the original Mrs. Newlin, as she looks about the same age as Sarah Newlin) and their 18-month old daughter, Bethany, were killed in a freak accident (involving a projectile road sign) in Dallas. Called an assassination by the Fellowship of the Sun and used as a rallying cry for the anti-vampire cause, Stan later claimed responsibility. Theodore Newlin believed vampires were evil, soulless creatures and minions of the devil, and he used a bigoted interpretation of Christianity to support his hate-mongering. He who lives by the sword dies by the sword, but like Sookie, I had a hard time swallowing the entire family being killed. I’ve no doubt the Rev. Newlin was confident in his peaceful eternity, so rest in peace, Newlin Family.

  1. MarleneEmmett says:

This man along with his nutcase son, Steve harassed the Vampire Community, and other communities
of anyone who wasn’t like them~They harassed people who were Gay,who were different in any way
shape or form and didn’t think the way that they did or lived the way they did.
Do I have any sympathy for either the father or the son? NO.
They brought the father’s death and the death of his family down on their own heads.
there’s a saying~ “treat ye how you would like to be treated”~Seems to me that both the
Newlin’s father and son forgot that little saying!!!!

    Marlene, this all true.

But Steve Newlin and Sarah Newlin are so delicously sanctimonius, they’re so much fun to watch.

Perhaps in the future we’ll have a Steve and Russell showdown.

I hope the Newlins are back in season four!

    Who’s Stan????

    • Lividity says:

Stan was Godric’s third in command (after Isobel) and a vampiric cowboy. See “Dallas Deaths” obit for more info on Stan.
