marcusbozeman rest in peace
Slimy and threatening, Marcus is the Shreveport Packmaster and Emma’s father. He meets Sam when he arrives, uninvited, on Luna’s doorstep, and when he goes looking for Sam the next day, he finds Tommy instead. Tommy, in an attempt to atone, shifts into Sam and meets Marcus himself. Marcus’ pack beats Tommy until he shifts back into himself. The beating, in combination with the violent transformation into another human, kills Tommy, and Sam vows revenge. He and Alcide track down Marcus, who’s at Alcide’s house with Debbie, trying to convince her to run off with him and a kidnapped Emma. Sam brings a gun, but wants to kill Marcus with his bare hands (no shifting allowed). Sam, in a moment of charity, allows Marcus to live, but Marcus gets up and rushes for Sam’s gun with the intention of shooting Sam in the back. Alcide intervenes and crushes Marcus’ windpipe. Marcus was another violent bully who found a righteous end. The world is a better place without him in it, and he doesn’t deserve peace.

So, latb, I guess you reallyliked Marcus, eh?. Not ;-) Okay, fair enough, and as always a great obit.. Me, I tought he had presence that would have made for a great recurring wolf. At least he was interesting and had a certain wily wisdom, qualities we’ve yet to see in weres so far. Instead, the writers just added him to the laundry list of were-dead. Another pelt on the mile-high stack.

You reminded me that his death was righteous, that he was about to Not Play Fair. I thought it was a cheap set-up by the writers. Pretty much every death we see is righteous, deerved in some way (not all, of course, and Gran would be oneof the rare exceptions) . Even the guiltless human sister who spoke at the Tolerance rally was so bloodyannoying that we could watch her shredded without a pang. It’s a bit mainstream TV, IMO.

Well Acanthus, you said it well. As you know, I also thought Marcus was an compelling and interesting character to watch. He certainly was the most alpha of all the wolves we had seen so far and I think he made the wolves somewhat interesting. Sad to see him go really. I think he was very well played by Dan Buran.

Rest in Peace Marcus. I wish we could have known you better.

Ah, Marcus….I had such hopes for this fella, as well as a brief flirtation with him when he gave his rousing, profanity laden speech to the pack.
May he and his questionble hairstyle rest in peace.

Im with you on the hair style. I have said that I wasnt sure if I wanted to lust after him or wash his hair. I loved his vamp speech and was thinking we would get more of that, but alas, no dice. He was on of those characters I liked but not for good reasons.lol And…from a psych nurse point of view, I believe he suffered from a classic case of “little man” syndrome.

It’s hard to see a good actor killed off, he gave a convincing performance in every scene, he’ll be missed.

That seems to be a reoccurring theme here in the Nest Graveyard: “What an interesting character well-played by a terrific actor. Wish we could’ve known you better!” There are so many people who populate the show, and simply not enough time for each of them to be seen, to been known.

And I very much agree, Acanthus, that his going after Sam while Sam’s back was turned didn’t feel true. Slimy, yes. Dishonorable, not so much. I mean, we have Sam saying all weres are vile (in S1), and Alcide isn’t too keen on them, but they’re both biased for their respective personal reasons. Marcus terrified Luna and Emma, and Marcus did have his pack beat up “Sam,” but other than that, we saw a guy who was trying to take care of his people.

And once again, you’ve brought up a pivotal point, lat. So many characters, so little time.

IMO only, I woudl keep the rich diversity without sacrificing either the best “colour” characters or stealing so much screen time from the leads by keeping those secondary roles exctly that – secondary.

From your lips to AB’s ears. I have never seen a piece where so many supporting actors are given their own storyline. I admit he did a little better this year in bringing the supporting actors into the main storyline, but there are still too many side stories.

Well you could kind of guess he wasn’t gonna last long but it gives actors a chance to be seen in a really popular show and gets them noticed and hopefully more jobs! I know if i see an actor I’ve seen in True Blood in another show ,I will watch it to see them, actors I would never payed any attention to or shows I would have never watched!

I really dug that guy’s voice. Marcus did love his daughter, so he wasn’t a total bastard.
