Rest in Peace, Longshadow

Longshadow rest in peace

Longshadow

Longshadow: Fangtasia’s bartender and the third leg of Eric and Pam’s business tripod. He was frightening (but in an interesting sort-of way), glaring from behind the bar with his tattoos and his philosophy: “That’s what we are: death.” Eric used his embezzling to learn the extent of Sookie’s telepathic skills (and Bill’s devotion to her). Longshadow would’ve killed Sookie if Bill hadn’t acted so quickly and staked him first (improvising a weapon with a broken beer tap).

Longshadow reminds us that immortality and heightened senses do not equal intelligence or good sense. His death set a series of events into motion and had far-reaching consequences (like Jessica losing her human life). I don’t know that he deserves peace in his final death after all that, but I did adore Pam’s, “There’s vampire in your cleavage” line.

I swear I think he made more goo than any vampire who’s been staked since!
