Rest in Peace, Granddaddy Earl

earlstackhouse rest in peace gary cole earl stackhouse Earl Stackhouse, once put in the unmarked Mass Grave in the Nest’s Bon Temps Cemetery, can be moved to his final resting place. Not literally, since there wasn’t anything left to bury after 20 years spent eating light fruit in Fairyville, but that was actually a final kindness to Sookie, not leaving a grave to dig upon her return. It seems strange no one ever mentioned that he vanished one day, rather than died, but like Sookie, he was part-fae and telepathic, and thus we can assume he was “harvested” by his faery godmother, as Sookie was. Earl didn’t realize he’d left his family for so long, and he wouldn’t have remained had he known the hardships they faced without him. Earl Stackhouse obviously loved his family, so much so that he knowingly and willingly sacrificed himself to ensure Sookie safely returned to Bon Temps. His final thoughts were of his wife, his son, and his grandchildren. He seemed a man worthy of Adele Stackhouse’s devotion, and may they finally be rejoined. Rest in Peace, Granddaddy Earl.

RIP Earl! I sure hope we see more of you in flashbacks. Shame to have Gary play him and he’s already deceased!

Oh Granddaddy Earl, I so wish we had more time to spend with you. You did seem like a lovely chap and it would have been fun to see you return to Bon Temps 20 years later. :::sniff::: I will miss you!

    Thank you latbfan!

I really liked him, and I did feel really sad for Sookie, since she only had a brief moment with him. I hope that he makes another appearance sometime soon.
