Rest in Peace, Dallas Deaths

Gabe rest in peace

Gabe

Gabe acted as the vampire-hating drill sergeant for the Newlins’ Light of Day Institute. Characterized by Sookie as “a very large rapist,” he was cruel and seemed to be the mastermind behind the kidnapping of both Hugo and Sookie. He was killed by Godric after he beat Hugo unconscious and was attempting to rape Sookie. Good riddance to a bully and a coward; he deserves neither rest nor peace.

Luke rest in peace

Jason and Luke at the Light of Day Institute

Luke McDonald was the Fellowship of the Sun golden boy – until Jason Stackhouse arrived at camp. A strong athlete with a clear sense of right and wrong, Luke felt like killing vampires was his destiny. He was petty and jealous, and it wasn’t until Jason helped him that he came around. He became a suicide bomber for the Fellowship and attacked the Dallas nest. Like all martyrs, he was sadly misguided and used by people more powerful than he. Rest in peace, Lukinator.

Stan rest in peace

Stan

Stan was Godric’s third in command (after Isobel). A vampiric cowboy, he was a wild-card who embodied “Don’t Mess with Texas.” Stan claimed responsibility for the deaths of the Sr. Reverend Newlin and his family. More interested in revenge and killing than finding Godric, he was quick to want to attack the church. He met his final death in the  Dallas Nest bombing, no doubt only one among many vampires killed. He didn’t seem to enjoy peace in his undead life, but may he find some now.

Hugo rest in peace

Hugo

Hugo was Isabel’s human, who Isabel intended to keep alive and observe as he grew old and died (like an edible science experiment). More interested in becoming a vampire than in Isabel, when she refused to turn him, he began spying on the Dallas Nest for the Newlins. He lured Sookie to the church, and then was surprised when he was held captive along with her. We don’t know what happened to Hugo, but if he didn’t die in the Nest bombing or in the church, then one of the Dallas vampires will hunt him down for his betrayal. If he’s not dead now, he will be soon. He dug his own grave, and it’s difficult feeling sympathy for a traitor, but I hope he had his reasons. Rest in peace, Hugo.

Thank you Lab. Gabe – still can’t understand why Godric killed him (well, I do , but) as I still see the look of surprise on Gabe’s face when Godric had him in a hold! There must have been ‘something’ there – a friendship or trust which was broken?

Loved Stan!! This actor was a fave on Eureka and I miss him. Stan may have been an arsehole, but he had personality! I still laugh when he wanted to go to the FOTS and kill them all! He had a plan and Isobel said he had a movie!! LOL!

Hugo – I was surprised to see his name, but I tend to agree. I think his life is to be short lived. I liked Hugo and felt so sad when he was revealed (did suspect) and felt so sorry for Isobel, who really loved him. Maybe she should have turned him??

Hugo didn’t die. He was set free by Godric.
