Rest in Peace, Bill and Lorena’s Flapper Victims
By latbfan on Oct 2 2010 | 3 Comments »Sidney and his Younger Woman (referred to only as “doll”) met Bill and Lorena at a party in Chicago in 1926. They enjoyed listening to Bill sing and the idea that they could be un-puritanical together at a private after-party. (And really, who can blame them for wanting that?) Lorena conceivably chose them not only for their pliable ethics, but also for “doll’s” necklace, which Lorena fancied. Bill presented it to her after Sidney had been killed and “doll” lay bleeding out on the bed. The bloody and wasteful scene was disturbing, but offered an invaluable glimpse into Bill’s decades-long life with Lorena. For the ultimate sacrifice in the name of character development, rest in peace, rich flappers.

I love these scenes. Steve was totally hot singing as Bill…..the tux, the slick back hair….HOT!
For Bill to fall from a good honourable man into the decadence that was Lorena and then fight his way back again into an honourable vampire tells a tale I could watch forever. A struggle is never boring.
Totally agree aem! I love all facets of Bill Compton, because even if he was bad whilst with Lorena, it still is something that has shaped him into the Vamp he is today – some one to love.
The scene was only disturbing to me bec all of Doll’s blood was just leaking out. I’ve never heard of such wastefulness! Even vamps should have some sort of dining etiquette.
