Uncle Bartlett Hale rest in peace

Uncle Bartlett

Bartlett Hale was Adele’s brother. As unlike his enlightened sister as can be, Uncle Bartlett was a pedophile who preyed upon and abused Hadley and Sookie when they were children. His perversions were carefully hidden under a kind facade, but when Sookie confided to her Gran, Adele believed her and ran him off, never speaking to him again. Gran also didn’t reveal Sookie’s secret, as Jason continued contact, mowed his lawn, and invited him to Gran’s funeral. Bill killed him for committing Crimes Against Sookie, and dropped his mangled body into the creek so cause of death couldn’t be determined. Uncle Bartlett bequeathed his entire estate to Sookie, presumably as a kind of ill-conceived atonement (his thoughts at Gran’s funeral were apologetic: “I never meant to hurt nobody”). She in turn gave her inheritance to Jason, rather than attempting to explain why she received it all (and he used it to pay for anti-vampire paramilitary church camp). Even though Sookie was angry with Bill when she learned what had happened, most people agree pervy Uncle B’s death was justified. Good riddance, Bartlett Hale: being murdered and then eaten was entirely too generous an ending to your miserable life.

I hate people who hurt children. Period. Too bad for this actor that his character is so hated, but hey, he knew what he was getting into! LOL Kudos to Sookie for confiding in her Gran and tons of kudos to Adele who stood up for her grand daughter! Too often have I heard stories that didn’t turn out this good or where the child was persecuted instead of the grown adult who did the crime! HOOAH for BILL!! I don’t care if Sookie did get mad at him although she has a point that he can’t just go around killing everyone she talks about.
