We told you last month about details on the Season 4 True Blood DVD/Blu-ray/Digital Copy, but now we found out some more (and exciting!) details we had to share!
DVDtalk.com has the details on the extras:
As with the first three seasons, this set has an extensive Picture-in-Picture “enhanced viewing” mode. While watching the shows (with a player equipped for P-in-P playback, many early stand-alone Blu-ray players don’t have the capability) viewers are treated to a plethora of in-character interviews with the people who populate the show, trivia, factoids, and even flashbacks to the earlier seasons. There’s a lot of content here, and it’s not just fluff. They show what happened during the year that Sookie was missing, fill in some vampire history, and much more. This can be distracting when watching an episode for the first time, so luckily most of the video content is accessible from the extras menu.
That would be enough for most shows, but True Blood has always gone above and beyond as far as extras were concerned and this season is no exception. True Blood: The Final Touches is a half hour look at the post-production process lead by series creator Alan Ball. There’s also an interactive feature, True Blood Lines, that lets viewers examine the various characters and races/creatures that inhabit the True Blood world and how they are related and interact.
Check out more details at the source. The DVD/Blu-ray/Digital Copy comes out in the US on May 29th.

A new interview with Charlaine Harris is featured in issue 67 of British science fiction magazine SciFiNow, in which she discusses the differences between the books and the TV show, how Sookie has grown as a character, and how Alan Ball’s comments on Bill’s proposed death scene “peeved” her.
On writing the thirteenth and final book in the Southern Vampire Mysteries series, Charlaine says:
“I’m trying to remember all the loose ends that I need to tie up and all the questions readers have asked me, and there’s just no way I can possibly answer all those.
I’m way into the last book; I’ve got to turn it in in July… It’s interesting trying to pull together all the threads and make it better than the last book – that’s always my goal.”
Regarding Alan Ball’s remark at a press conference that Charlaine had changed her mind about killing off Bill, she says:
“When I heard it I went ‘Oh no! Why did you do that?!’ I’d only thought about doing it, and then I thought ‘No, that’s just not right. That really isn’t the arc that I had created for him.’ So I took it out and put the right material in.
I don’t even want to go into [how Bill died] because every time I think about it I get mad at Alan. We’ve had such a great relationship, and that’s the only time I’ve ever gotten peeved at him.”
On reading fan feedback online:
“I try and stay away from it because even though I like to hear what the readers think, it’s not going to change any decisions. I think the TV series has had an influence over how people want it to end, because some readers are really in love with the TV depiction, and that may not match the characters that I actually wrote.”

From the Inside True Blood Blog:
By Gianna Sobol
You may have already heard that Stephen Moyer is trying his hand at directing this season, taking the reins of episode 8 (written by Mark Hudis). I asked Michael McMillian, who plays Steve Newlin, what it’s like to work with Moyer in such a different capacity and he had quite a bit to say:
“It’s clear Stephen has a deep appreciation for these characters and a need to dig into things a little deeper than usual to find the truth in each scene. He has a natural talent for directing. He’s really in his element behind the camera and brings a playful and wicked sense of humor with him. It was fun working with him. I felt like the parents had left town and our cool big brother was in charge of all us kids. He took his role seriously, but still managed to throw us a party.”

Joe Manganiello is one of the people chosen for InStyle magazine’s “Sexy Dozen.” The issue is dated June 2012, the very beautiful Charlize Theron is on the cover. (He’s on page 260)
“Everybody’s been in the situation where they wind up being blown away by someone who isn’t their type and doesn’t match the list of things they wanted in a significant other. But you meet that person and go, Wow, they just make it happen,” says the True Blood werewolf who stars as a male stripper in this month’s Magic Mike. “Sexy is a really individual thing and so intangible. If you’re trying to be sexy, you’re probably not.”
