Annoyed that you don’t a) own a smartphone and a DVR, b) don’t live in LA, Philadelphia or NYC and you c) can’t be bothered with fiddly codes and shit? Never fear, your kindly auntie HBO has provided the exclusive Season 3 clip on their website for a spell and it is now on Youtube. As you will recall, fans were supposed to watch the Lost finale last night to obtain the secret code to unlock the clip. Enjoy the nekkidness and boasting (6 hours? Really?) and rather snarky Ms Stackhouse. Props to ole Sook for keeping her eyes firmly above the waist.

Updated with actual video. With thanks to Zazazu.

Cool. I watched it on my iPhone this morning with the QR code provided by the Twitter RPers. It’s pretty cool tech, really. I like it. I just didn’t want to FF through an hour an a half of stupid Lost to find it.

Nice work, Snook. Way to ignore that tacky comment about Bill.

  2. jay says:

Thank you thank you sooo much 4 this…
Eric replying ‘i didnt’ he sounded like a little boy defending himself lol…
His remark about bills stamina? please eric you wish!!!…
Got 2 hand it 2 eric though, there are alot of things 2 dislike about him, but the one thing he does take seriously is his job as sheriff. I hand it 2 him in that regard, even though its still hard 2 trust him…
Sook respect 2 u girl 4 keepn those eyes from wondering down, although there was a little tension @ the end when eric admitted he wanted her. Some shock openess by eric already so early in the season!!!…
WOW!!! *mouth open wide in shock* 6 hours!!! wooooo is yvetta even alive???? lol

    • Aemac says:

*Eric taking his job seriously as sheriff or thinking back to QSA ordering him to take care of Bill personally? *Eric commenting on Bill’s stamina was just boyish and immature. *Eric stating he wants what Bill has just sounds like jealousy.

Even with the great abs the man is sporting it’s not enough to overcome the ickiness of Eric’s character. I’m already getting bored with Eric trying to gain Sookie. Season 1 and 2 and now that’s all we’re seeing with previews for S3. Instead of the Maryann storyline lasting a whole season, we get Eric/Sookie now for three. Getting tired of it.

      • NotHoney says:

Amen, sister. I can only hope they’re showing the hell outta the Eric-wants-Sookie shit because they don’t want to reveal the main story for the season.

And Lizzie, you’re so right! Why settle for second best when you’ve already had top shelf!

      • jen says:

the queen told him to take care of bill to cover up her dirty work… eric could have easily let the cat of the bag that the queen was making him sell blood when bill confronted him. But he didnt. I just think personally, and its just my opinion; eric will always do his job as sheriff because he holds his position and vampire politics in high regard. Thats why he is such an asshole, is sooo into himself, and looks down @ humans… Theres a good and bad side to his commitment to his job as sheriff and vampire politics.
The character of eric gained popularity out of nowhere last season. There is no denying that. Its a clever marketing ploy, but also pretty obvious that HBO have used alot of the eric-sookie scenes to garner and build interest for this season, based on erics gain in popularity (add on top of that the whole boring love triangle)… But it is still obvious bills kidnapping is the main plot 4 season 3 and i cannot see the eric-sookie connection overshadowing it… I am open to all facets of the show, i dont really care… i just want to be entertained every episode no matter what happens, and true blood is the only show that does it 4 me!!!
        Bring on s3…

        • cr says:

I find it interesting that despite Bill’s kidnapping, the shots we’ve seen he’s not been tied up, or held against his will.

          • jay says:

that is true…Its not so much a kidnapping as such… Im assuming its more of what bill encountered in the pilot with the drainers, except its werewolves who get high on V… But then King russell comes in and helps him, thus bill feels obliged to pledge allegiance to him?? i duno just a wild guess?? but why is king russell on a horse, in the state of lousiana in the first place? …. its all very interesting!!!
Everything to do with bills arc this season is what im looking forward to the most!!

          • jen says:

i think the physical scenes; the struggle, being tied up and fed upon by wolves or whatever its gonna turn out to be… its all being left out because its the big reveal for season 3. Thats where season 2 finished, and thats where season 3 will lift off…Just like sook and tara finding a body in the car in season 1, season 2 starts off from there..

          • Aemac says:

In previous spoilers/casting calls it says Bill is a “visitor” of Russell’s. Written in italics I would surmise it means Bill may not be tied down but he’s not allowed to leave. As we saw last season. Bill was held against his will by Lorena but yet he wasn’t tied down, tied up or handcuffed. Might very well be something similar, we’ll find out.

          • Cranky says:

He’s sacrificing himself to protect sNookie.

        • Aemac says:

I agree Jen, I’m not much of a TV watcher and TB grabbed my interest in Season 1, I enjoyed it so much I’m afraid they’re going to blow it.

I find it amusing that so many fell for Eric’s character. He can be humourous and there’s definite fun to be found in watching a bad ass, but I’m surprised that he’s gained such a following. That viewers love him no matter what he does and they want to see Eric not only use the heroine of the show, but see her get sexually involved with him. I must have some real old fashioned ideas. :)

          • jay says:

yeah iv never had a favourite show, favourite movie…Iv never been a crazed fan for anything..But i find im just entertained by this show for some reason.
and yeah we all have our own ideas and opinions of the show, your ideas are not old-fashioned…they are very logical…
For me; I love eric, I love how he is so different to bill…I love bill, I love how he is so different to eric.. I like that balance, that clash… its interesting to watch, and i dont mean in the love triangle… I couldnt care less about the romance facet of the show, its the characters… A bill character needs an eric, and vice versa otherwise we cant see their worth as characters in the show

            • Lividity says:

Yes. This. Bill needs Eric and Eric needs Bill. And whew, these two together are always made of win. I think that’s sort of what fell apart in the books for me. There wasn’t really a good counterpart for Eric. I have high hopes for the show… still.

This was supposed to be under jay’s comment, but oh sadness, was not a possibility.

              • cr says:

That was part of the problem with the Books, when Eric’s in them, Bill is, for the most part, not. I like them both, but for entirely different reasons.

                I also need more Pam.

              • LuvEric says:

I’d turn “gay for the day” for Pam.

                yes Siree

      • jay says:

Erics comment on bills stamina is immature and boyish??? yeah ofcourse, its typical male banter, and the asshole that eric is trying to give sook a bit of cheek. Its harmless really (and its a way for the writers to add some so called funny eric humour and 1 liners)…
Eric stating that he wants what bill has is absolute jealousy on erics part, you are right!. But its still openness that eric did not display last season. In fact, he denied it. The writers did a big 180 in that regard!!!

  3. jen says:

The mans gotta 8 pack. My eyes would wonder down and probably stay there lol

  4. lizzie1701 says:

Sookie new that there was nothing for her by looking down, as after having Bill Compton, nothing else suffices!

  5. lizzie1701 says:

I mean, why do it for 6 hours! Part of the fun of nookie time is the pillow talk!

    • daDiva says:

For Yvetta’s sake I hope that they were having 6 hours of tantric sex. I can’t imagine her walking, let alone dancing after that! ☺:)

  6. Lividity says:

Regarding the Eric wants Sookie thing. I’m sure he does want her, but dude, there are better ways to go about tempting someone else’s girl. I mean really, all this, “I want you” posturing? That’s it? I WANT YOU? I am good in bed? Ladies? Why would you leave the boyfriend you believe you love simply because a good-looking man “wants” you? He needs to at least pretend that he’s got some sort of romantical lightening moving through his bloodstream. Or you know what? Maybe he is just acquiring an accessory. I don’t see much more than that yet from Eric in TB.

But I would have totally checked out his dangler.

    • jay says:

lol yeah i would have had a peek :)
saying ‘i want you’ naked is not gonna put out the burning flame of love sookie has for bill… i think eric knows that, he knows trying to get sookie to be his will take alot more work than just admitting he wants her for the first time and then dangling himself infront of her lol… Eric does not want sookie in the way that bill has her, he cant love anyone other than himself….yet!!!… he just wants to taste her fairyness and then be on his way…

    • cr says:

It would have been rude not to!

      :)

  7. konfettii says:

That was completely awesome! We just hooked up some speakers to the work computer so the TB gals here could gather ’round and take a gander. (it’s nice to work in an uncoventional place!)
Sookie looked really, really lovely, quite toned. Eric was, well, y’all know what I think of Eric. Beautiful man, just beautiful.
I enjoyed that Sookie was so direct and to the point. She was very no nonsense and upfront, no hedging the issue at all.
I loved Eric’s remark. (c’com, she DID sound surprised) Pure Eric-ness there.
Not many guys could pull off being being both a smart ass and powerful WHILE nekkid, but Eric managed.

  8. JodyK says:

I LOVED this clip – any scene with Sookie and Eric makes me very happy!

  9. Tiffany says:

LOVED this clip! Of course Eric is going to razz her about Bill… why shouldn’t he be confused as to why anyone woman would want Bill over himself? I know I am sure as heck confused as to why Sookie is with loser Bill or even concerned that he is missing. But alas we start to see the Eric from the books who is VERY honest with Sookie, whereas Bill is not. How many times has Bill lied and yet Eric tells her the truth even when he knows she won’t like it. The fact that it took her all of 5 seconds to believe that Eric didn’t have Bill shows that deep down she knows that she can get the truth from Eric and that she can trust his word.

All these Sookie Eric scenes tell me that the HBO execs know what the majority of fans want to see… waaaay more Eric…

    • Lividity says:

Tiffany? Are you watching the same show as the rest of us? Sookie had made up her mind to marry Bill. If she didn’t want to go find him the story would make no sense.

And yes, I know: In the books it says…! Eric! But in the books! Eric! Yeah, we’ve heard it all before…

      • CitizenErased says:

We have heard it before Liv. And its getting frigging old. I think i’m going to post in the ‘I quit as a TB fan’ rant post. Except i’m not allowed to quit, am I ladies? Shit :p

Finding it fascinating the contrast between ‘Imma going to find mah fiance’ Sook in this clip etc, and the ZOMG anticipation of instant Sookie- Eric sex among certain fans. Reminds me of all the hilarious speculation I read last year that it was Eric that saved Bon Temps from Maryanne, not Bill/Sam. Sometimes fans get it wayyyy wrong to amusing affect. To the extent they can’t even suss out the character of the man they’re so mad keen over.

    • NotHoney says:

I see Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt …

    • NotHoney says:

GAH, that comment belongs under Tiffany’s comment, not Liv’s (whom I completely agree with).

    • Cranky says:

My daughter calls Eric/Sookie “the money couple”. I think she’s right. I hope the sacrificing of Eric’s character (although necessary at the time) to prop up Bills character is finally over.

    • Aemac says:

You’re so right, Tiffany. Eric has never lied to Sookie. I’m not quite sure what show you’re watching but it’s not the True Blood I am.

*Eric lied to Sookie to get his blood into her.
*Eric allowed Sookie to be attacked by Long Shadow.
      *Eric tortured Sookie’s friend.
*Eric put Sookie’s life on the line to find Godric.

All of this does show how loving and perfect he is for Sookie. What a man….er vampire!

      • Evichu says:

hello? oh yes eric say a lie,.. one time!… like in the book…oooohh and he admited it but bill ummm… 827387834 :/ and sookie still dont know nothing about bill’s lies..dont know nothing real about bill..
eric sacrificed himself in the church for sookie and cover sookie from the bomb, or you forget it? :S
also in the books eric kills long shadow…i dont understand why alan change that but well…i only need to say STFU!!
dont say things without sense my god -_-’

        • Aemac says:

Eric sacrificed nothing in the church for anyone. In saying he would exchange his life for Godrics and Sookie’s, Eric knew Godric would save him before anything tragic occurred, Eric also knew Sookie would hear this and hoped she would be impressed by it.

TRUE BLOOD is a separate entity from the books and you would do well trying to understand that, of course with your most intelligent and mature of responses “STFU” you may not be able to. I hope you are not a prime example of what is considered a “bookie”. Poor Miss Harris with fans like you.

        • Tincar says:

I usually don’t respond to incomprehensible ranting however, this one pushed my buttons only because you have the audacity to tell someone to STFU for voicing their own opinion. Which would insinuate that you think yours is correct and only yours.

Please, re-watch these episodes. Eric sacrificed himself for Godric in the church. He specifically states, he wants to be taken in Godrics place and we all know where the bullet-sucking plot leads to.

I am not here to change your mind, I only ask you to have some respect when you feel the need to attack another fan on this news site. We are entitled to our own opinion and to be able to view each side of the story is what makes the world of fandom fun. If you must hate, take it somewhere else.

      • daDiva says:

I agree with all the points that you made regarding Eric’s character. Now allow me to play devil’s advocate (disclaimer: I prefer Bill to Eric on the show):

*Bill, like Eric, is a vampire who has done bad things in his past (we can only speculate what sort of fun he used to have with Malcolm, Diane and Liam but based on what was glimpsed in S1 it was probably really bad)

*Bill murdered her uncle (who arguably deserved it but it still was in cold blood)

*Bill recently murdered, quite painfully, a 17 year old girl (the fact that Jessica then became one of the freshest characters on TB does not excuse this). He then abandons her to Eric and does not tell Sookie about Jessica until Eric forces him to take responsibility for her.

*Bill and Lorena tortured and murdered a couple in Chicago in the 1930s. Then he and Lorena proceed to have hot monkey sex in the girl’s blood as she lay slowly dying. Bill later admits that this is something he and Lorena did quite often.

I think the main difference for Sookie is that she has seen the true nature of Eric the Viking from the beginning, and what’s more Eric has never apologized or hidden it. In fact he relishes in it. Sook has does not know the true extent of evil Bill the Southern Gentleman has done and she hasn’t really wanted to, preferring instead to acknowledge that there is evil in Bill in an abstract way. She sees Bill as a tortured soul trying to find redemption through her. Eric does not want to be redeemed.

One last point before I talk myself into liking Eric (actually, I really like latbfan’s idea of Team Vampwich): Bill’s obsessive attraction to Sookie could be blamed on how much of her blood he has had. Eric is attracted to her without having had any her blood.

Anyway, while AS is a fine male specimen, there is something about SM that goes beyond his physical attractiveness (of which there is plenty…).

    • Lea says:

I love what you said about the clip. I agree with you but these Bill-ophiles are gonna eat you up for stating that you have any love for Eric! We have to remain closeted or else feel the wrath. These websites are a farce. I had hoped that this site would be more neutral but it’s as bad if not worse than some of the others out there.

      • CitizenErased says:

Why, pray tell? Because not all of the commenters agree with your viewpoint? We do very little censoring here of comments (its more like crowd control actually, I mean fuck, look at it today! *head desk*). The site is a news site with the odd fangirl opinion article provided by the writers. The writers are not required to be neutral because they write OPINION pieces. You don’t have to read those. Everything else on here is NEWS.

This site does not have an official view on Sookie’s man prospects, because that’s retarded and we are, quite frankly, fucking sick of it all. If you don’t like what we do here, you can go elsewhere. I don’t like using the trash button, but for bitchy accusations, I will make an exception and enjoy it.

    • lizzie1701 says:

Yes, Eric was very honest to Sookie about the bullet sucking, wasn’t he? Also, in the RB S2 Commentary by Alex, he said he was only standing near Sookie when the bomb went off by accident, so he did not save Sookie by intent – only by accident!

You should keep to reading the books. I think you will be disappointed in True Blood.

      • Cranky says:

Well I have to disagree with Alex then. Maybe he didn’t watch the same version…or the final cut…of TB that I watched? When the button on the bomb was pushed Eric was standing several feet behind Sookie not beside her at all.

And yes…Eric was not honest about the bullet sucking. Although…there seems to be a great deal of confusion…in both the books and the series…about the “silver” thing. Wouldn’t silver bullets have burned the flesh around them before extruding themselves? Or does that only happen with Vampire skin?

  10. truewblood says:

The number of comments for this article just goes to show how powerful both men are at maintaining constant fanatic interest. I love it! It’s this kind of energy and marketing strategy that will ensure this series enjoys a long and fruitful life. Kudos, AB for such an intriguing show, and hopefully an equally awesome upcoming season!

  11. Lydia says:

Not a frequent poster here, but avid reader….there is more to this triangle than meets the eye. I think that this season, other than Eric having to look for Bill out of duty, there is actually going to be some type of an alliance between them. If you all remember on the front “dock” of the queens home, Eric and Bill are going back and forth about who is/was more esperate for the affection of Sookie..recall when Eric says, “Bill, I heard that you made her drink your blood, the FIRST night you met.” All of us fans know, it was the second night, since the first night Sookie saved Bill from the “Rats”. After that statement, Bill says, “Who told you that.” (Bill does not clarify – wisely that it was the 2nd night). I think Eric, Bill, and Sookie are all tangled up in a huge web, spun by Sophie Anne. Perhaps the Rats were hired hands of Sophie Anne, perhaps they were supposed to drain Bill after he had identified her at the bar? Perhaps Sookie screwed up Sophie’s plans of making money on Bill’s blood that she was having Eric sell. I wonder to myself if there will be a need for Eric and Bill to work together to figure out what is going on within their own ranks. I know, out on a limb here, can’t wait for the 13th.

    • Cranky says:

Well…you’re not alone on the “limb”. But…isn’t it a possibility that Queen Sophie-ann is selling her own blood…via Eric? Afterall…her real talent is keeping her “children” always by her side (books). How better to secure her own future…by using her strength…her own blood bond…to entice lots and lots of V user minions into her service…should she need them?

Clearly the Queen has been playing Bill against Eric…and Eric against Bill. Books and show. Yet…there is a bond between the two men. Even in the clip…Eric “wants” what he KNOWS belongs to Bill. He finally admits it…to Sookie…when before he’s taunted Bill that if he wanted it…he would just “take it”. Bills declaration to Sookie that Eric would have found a way to get that blood bond going…it was inevitable? His sudden decision to propose marriage? Desperation? Sookie having to think about it? SHOW…plot driven.

But always in the books/show…Eric and Bill have something going on…a certain respect that overcomes the rivalry. Certainly a shared desire to “protect” that which has become their mutual obsession…sNookie.

  12. Sarah says:

Thankyou so much for posting this link – luckily i watched it earlier when video link was working . I think that the Sokkie/ Bill/ Eric relationship will take a slightly different track to the books too and can’t wait to see the screen interpretation . (Currently reading book 6 and bemoaning lack of Bill !)

  13. MrsPacMan says:

Bill looks too old for Snookums and Eric looks too crazy weird. I liked the clips but I’m starting to loose interest like the other articles state, who would believe that these guys would fight over Bi-polar Snookums and she would even care about gramps & wierdo??

  14. Melanie says:

How do I get the video to work?

  15. Evichu says:

I dont thin eric need bill …eric have too much personality and sense of humor to need him :D sorry folks is my opinion
and about that :*Eric commenting on Bill’s stamina was just boyish and immature. *
C’mon! i dont think that, is just sense of humor.. not immature… ;)

    • jay says:

when i said bill and eric need each other, i meant that the show needs that contrast in characters. It would be boring otherwise, there would be no drama :)

  16. jen says:

    Eric is a liar…
Bill has kept things from sookie…
both not perfect!! end of story.
The show is different to the books, please dont mix them. Appreciate both of them for their differences. The books are great, the show is awesome…move on and be excited because season 3 is on its way and soon we will look back at these posts and think what waste of time they were :) hehe
    Bring on season 3 :)

  17. latbfan says:

I think everyone needs to take a nice deep breath and appreciate the fine specimen of naked maleness in the clip, obviously meant to titillate and remind us, as if the many, many interviews of ERIC IS SO NAKED didn’t do the job, that there are some hot hot men on True Blood.

As Team Vampwich, I love the interactions between Eric and Bill and Sookie. All the tension and the posturing and the snippy asides are just wonderfully played by these actors. I’m all for the triangle playing out…

  18. Zazazu says:

Clip’s down from HBO site. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxqEvuRR2d8 is one link for it.

  19. LuvEric says:

Sookie did NOT manage to keep her eyes above the waist. At the very end of the clip she glances down.

And six hours? Probably no problem for Eric

    Just sayin lol

  20. BillsNia says:

This was a nice little further look into Erics character. He was having sex for many hours during Bills kidnapping. That is very convenient as it gives him an alibi.

I will go out on a limb here and speculate a bit.
Could it be possible that Eric planned this just right? He could have had another hand in the abduction, whether a phone call or text or even by pigeon, that is all he would need to do. If Eric were involved he would have someone else do his dirty work, like he did with Lorena. Feeble and desparate as always.

Other than that, Eric was just showing a bit of humor as well as a good dose of jealousy in this clip. And of course flaunting himself in fornt of Sookie, who did not look impressed, just disgusted, good girl.

ERic had Yvetta, wasn’t that enough? Her generous attributes outshined Sookies, so why does he still want what Bill has??

It has always been about what Eric wants. His business, his money, Bills human, Godrdic, etc…………
Will he ever take in to consideration someone elses feelings? I have yet to see that.

  21. Danielle says:

I get some ppl can seperate the book from the show, but your favorite from the book (whether it’s Eric or Bill or whomever) is most likely going to be yor favorite on the show. Personally I’m team Eric…. I tried to like Bill on the show…he just gets on my nerves. No offense to any Bill fans, just my personal opinion… I dont understand the whole Eric-Sookie thing is boring yet you can be so entertained by Bill-Sookie??? anyway did everyone else notice at the very beginning of the clip you can see Yvett tied up behind Eric?

  22. Ashley says:

If you watch thte end of the clip, Sookie does look down. Just for a second, just a glance, but she does. Right before she leaves. And you know what, who can blame her really? I would look.
