TVGUIDE has some good spoilers on season 3. Alan says about Season 3: “It picks up right where we left off and things get weird really fast.”
*SPOILERS AHEAD, ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK*
Theme of Season 3: “It seems to be that it’s about really embracing one’s identity,” Ball tells us. “Season 2 was more about how religions can make people do things that maybe they wouldn’t do otherwise; it gives them the freedom to do things. This season is a lot about what it means to be who you are, or what you are.”
Sookie’s background: “Sookie still doesn’t know exactly what she is. She will get closer to figuring out why she has these random powers that show up when they do,” says Ball. (Spoiler alert: In the books, Sookie discovers she has fairy blood running in her.) “She is definitely part of a different race,” adds Ball. “In terms of fairies, like perky fairies with wings, like Tinkerbell, no, they’re not like that. If it is fairies, they’re fierce. They’re not pretty, soft, glamorous, gossamery things. They’re really, really, really powerful and primal creatures.”
Sookie and Eric: Sookie’s been seeing visions of her and Eric getting — ahem — friendly. Will their romance actually progress, not just in her head? “I can definitely tell you [we'll see that] in the show. I don’t know if it will necessarily be in Season 3. Of course they’re going to come together, it’s fated. It’s not something that’s going to happen right off the bat.”

I can not believe after all he has done to her by torturing her friend, tricking her in to sucking his blood, putting her in danger, and I am supposed to believe it is fate that their together. thanks but no thanks AB…
hopefully AB will just kill Bill and put him out of his misery……..I refuse to watch anymore..AB thanks for season 1.
READ THE BOOKS PEOPLE!!!!!!!! gahhhhh
I have read books and still prefer Bill. Why do you assume that bill fans have not read books?
OMG, not this again. Do I have to get ‘I have read the books, Bill is still awesome’ branded on myself somewhere?
I read the books and still prefer Bill to Eric..
Sookie and Eric romance? We all knew it would probably happen, but AB wants us to believe in a heroine that would sleep with the vampire that would DNA rape her, torture her friends, try to get rid of her boyfriend, lie to her, get her kidnapped and other unknown transgressions to come in the future? Seriously? And then after our so called heroine is done with Eric, she’ll fuck everything that can grow stubble? What about Bill? Another storyline? I doubt if AB can make it good enough to make me want to watch an unhappy Bill.
Why does AB insists on giving out spoilers like this. AARRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!
Yes!!! Godric will be coming back; best news I’ve heard yet about S3! Very enlightening article, thanks ZZ!
I remember how excited I was in the build up for Season 2. For many reasons, not so excited now. I do not ‘ship’ anything from this show, I just love Bill. When he’s doing fun Bill stuff, i’m happy. Of course i’d prefer him to be doing fun stuff naked, but thats looking increasingly unlikely. I expect the Bill-Sookie relationship to bust up at some point, but if its done in a shitty way and they do absolutely nothing to redeem Eric’s complete bastardry in the last season, then i’m not going to be happy at all. Because it will be sooooo unbelievable if Sookie turns to him, and she will look like a complete and utter dumbass skank to the audience.
Completely agree with all of the above. I have just written to Ab. Told him more or less the same thing. Told him I was disappointed in him. Told him thanks for getting my life back.
I’m not shocked by this. I think AB is trying to stir the pot. But honestly I could care less who Sookie romances (other than Bill). I can’t see a romance with Eric progressing in Season 3 but like Alan says somewhere down the line, yeah sure I see it. All I care about is that the writers do right by the character of Bill. I do not want to see him moping around waiting for Sookie and I do not want to see him sidelined. Give him a love interest of his own, flesh out his relationship with Jessica, have him struggle to deal with his humanity. Give him something to do! If I see that I’ll stick around, but if Bill goes so do I.
Liz79, you just said it for me too. If Bill is put on the back burner because of this desire to placate some fans by
putting Eric and Sookie together, I’ll be giving back my digital box. Bill needs to be more proactive and I don’t want to see him moping for a whole season. It’s time for active Bill and he should be a little bit bad too. The wrters better give him some interesting stuff to do, because Stephen Moyer/Bill is the reason I watch the show. I really hope AB can rise above all the shipper nonsense and give us a show with dramatic integrity, not just pandering to vocal fans.
I don’tfreak out about seeing some kind of relation between Eric and Sookie, I have seen enough to believe this show is a love story of two beings, Bill and Sookie. Eric is trouble, so I’m ok to see where Alan will take us. As far as Bill is not dropped off the show as it happened in the books. Wich by the way, I have read. And I still not convinced about Eric being “the one” on the Sookie Stackhouse novels, Bill is there yet and I believe we still not knowing all the facts of the infamous Edict.
