As to the money business, well we can see he is “money/business” saavy. He obvioulsy is aware of the high markup of retailers esp. jewelry, and I bet he would have never considered glamouring her if she did not insult his integrity first.
Just because he is a vampire, why would he want to have sex with her? Maybe there are others of his kind that would do so in a heartbeat, like have meaningless sex with a stranger for hours, but as our wonderfully devoted Bill said,

Great minisode, best so far. Although I really enjoyed the Fangtasia one as well, gotto love the oh so talented stripper tryouts, but this minisode was all great BILL !!!!

I’ve read all the books at least twice, and I didn’t didn’t even see the love for Bill in the first two. I always thought he was boring and humorless. The first suitor I loved was Alcide actually, then Eric because he’s been developed so well (at least in my eyes). I’m glad that you liked Bill so much. To me it’s more about the individual woman. If you like the tragic story of a Southern Gentlemen, then of course you’d love Bill more and never “get” why people love Eric. Two totally different guys.

That’s what I don’t get. He *could* have used vampire speed to go and put on a shirt or even tied the robe closed – but he didn’t. He left it open exposing his chest then got uppity when she viewed him in a sexual way, total con artist – the robe open and the flirting was purposeful so he could con her into a discount. I would say that Bill is comfortable with himself and asked twice whether or not he should change…..I think his mind was preoccupied for the evening ahead.
Bill was very human here except for the glamouring. Somewhat nervous about choosing a ring and his upcoming proposal. Well played out Stephen, excellent.
The sales lady asked him twice if he wanted to go and change and both times he babbled about running late, yet he listened to her drone on about her maiden name versus her surname rather than hurrying her up.
The open robe and glamouring her into telling him what she wanted to do was a lead in for the con. I can understand trying to get a discount – an engagment ring is a very expensive thing, but to manipulate her into giving it to him at cost price (which would probably lead to her getting fired) kind of tarnishes the proposal. Isn’t Sookie worth getting a ring by more legitimate means?

Maybe it’s because i come from the UK but i am slightly bemused at just how literally and vitriolically some people are responding to a fictional tv clip – albeit a highly amusing and well acted one .
I enjoy True Blood for what it is – a brilliantly written , well acted tv programme and although i may like one character more than another i wouldn’t dream of posting hate posts or criticisms of other characters . Every forum i have looked at today has had a very similar quota of anti/hate posts !
My intention is not to offend anyone by posting my view but if i have inadvertently offended anyone then i apologise profusely .
I was just pointing out the things that struck me about the video. There’s no need to be insulting and insinuate that I hate certain characters (at no point did I say that I hated anyone) there’s also no need to say I’m rabid or that anything I have said is creepy.
Censor and prevent debate by all means, it’s your site, but I came here to express my views. If you don’t want people to offer alternative insight into things then ban them, stay in your own little world where everyone agrees, I prefer to have my views challenged (note: NOT insulted) so I can continue to shed new light on my opinions.
You ask visitors to be adult, yet when they do nothing but have a different viewpoint from yourself you go against your own words. Surely presenting evidence to dispute what I’ve said would have been the more appropriate action? Banning someone for having a POV is very childish.

Where have I said that I hated anyone? Anywhere? Any posts I’ve made have stated my opinion on what I took from the TB minisode. Yet now TWICE on this site rather than acting like adults, posters have accused me of hate rather than simply saying “Okay we’ll agree to disagree” or “You’re seeing *this* where I’m seeing *that*”.
I’m done. I came here to get a different point of view on my opinions and all I’ve received are insults. With this attitude it’s no wonder you have to ask visitors to behave themselves – all the people capable of reasonable intelligent debate won’t want to visit if they’re accused of hate because they have a differing POV, that’s why you get troublemakers.
Try being a little more friendly and your standard of visitor might get better.

You know, this minisode reminded me why I liked Bill. I think he’s actually funnier and far more charismatic without Sookie. I think breaking them up, if that is indeed where AB is going, will make Bill a much more versatile character. I, for one am excited to see Bill a little badder this season. Kudos to AB, for a hilarious minisode, start to finish.
Cares, I have to agree with you. Bill with Sookie (ie Bill in S2) was not the Bill I fell in love with. He clenched his jaw and did his best to protect her, and while I appreciate the pickle he found himself in, it wasn’t nearly as interesting as slightly dangerous Bill in the early episodes of S1. I love the tension of the triangle, and I suppose Sookie has to be with one of them for that to work, but I don’t care who. Not really…

And just for the record: this is not objectifying you sexually because you are a vampire, so I’m not to be glamoured into doing something stupid that could make me lose my job. Except the stupidity would include me being late because you exhausted me by uhm making me play scrabble wth you on the velvet couch till dawn, although I wouldn’t need to be glamoured into that. Just do your hair like you used to, you know, back then in the good old hairdays at the beginning of season one and wear that robe again and we’d be good to go.

I actually loved the minisode, because we are seeing another side to Bill. I tend to like him more when he’s alone rather than when he’s with Sookie.
I don’t mind that he glamoured her to get the ring at cost because, as I said before, it’s showing us a different side to him. The bell that goes off in my head at seeing this one though is that the proposal came on so fast that he bought the ring the night of. When the finale aired last season I felt something was off about it. There’s no doubt in my mind that Bill loves Sookie, but to me there is more to the proposal than meets the eye. Can’t wait for season 3 to air so we can keep exploring Bill’s character.
Of course there’s more to it. Chief rival Eric managed to sneak a few drops of his blood into gullible Sookie. Bill is…or was…desperate to tie her down.
OMG, so I finally got to see this. This is what all the killjoys are bleating about today? I mean really people, this *is* supposed to be fun and silly. Some of you need to visit the lost & found as you’ve clearly lost your sense of humor somewhere down the road.
I swear I cannot understand why we all can’t enjoy all the eye candy and silliness without all the negativity. Personally I enjoyed the extra Eric Basement one and this one, and the other ones and all the other stuff HBO been dishing out for us. More True Blood can only = awesome for me ;)

You know what I’m missing though? One word: Bellefleurs.
This is the best minisode by far! The actress is brilliant. Her timing and expressions were absolutely perfect. She even blushed a little at times. I’d love to see her on the show. Love the part with the ring when she shoved it on. That sucker was getting on her finger no matter what. Mr. Smallwood, and a maiden name of Bushy.
Bill looks good. Said in a husky voice, “damn good”. No one but Vampire Bill could pull off that robe, and make it look sexy.
What great fun. Even if S3 isn’t perfect, we have the minisodes!

I watched it again, and my take is he did it because she wanted to feel naughty and she insulted him. She said “I’ll get in trouble.” and then was all hot when he said “which I think is only appropriate.” Cause you know, she stereotyped a vampire.

She DID stereotype him and she most probably DID insult him but I just don’t see the justification in actually getting her into trouble – it seemed petty. Hamster. I do not wish you any ill will,; but what do you think Eric’s responce would have been in the same situation? Do you have any sort of a sense of humor, because that is a major component of this great show.
I have a great sense of humour and there are a lot of parts of TB that have me laughing out loud but I also know (from his previous work) that AB doesn’t do superficial, so I like to dig a little and try to work out what’s happening underneath the surface.
At this point in TB it’s very hard to say what Eric would do because it seems like buying an engagement ring is something he would NEVER do, I doubt he’d be insulted at her objectifying him. We all know he has the ego to end all ego’s and see’s HIMSELF as a sexual object. He would have probably flirted back, and gotten a discount by glamouring her into thinking he’d had her chained in bliss for 6 hours in return for getting the ring at cost!
Bottom line is whatever vampire wanted to get the ring at a cheaper price, both of them would have used glamour and manipulation simply because that’s what vampires do. If this had been an Eric scene I’d be asking the exact same questions because IMO something is off with the vampire’s behaviour, to me it looked like a con act.

i must say i got confused with this minisode, at first, Bill Compton using glamour to get a bargain doesn’t match my stereotype of him. But thinking about it, sure he felt a little insulted by the ladie’s lust, but girls, he was too hot and he could have been dressed properly to keep the lady in line. so it’s a weird minisode.
in his defense i will say, he really would have put the lady in trouble, if he had commanded her to gave him the ring for free. wich he didn’t.

Girls let’s just have fun with this, enjoy terrific writing and whatever part of this whole experience we love. I choose to ignore snarky, mean and small.
I love Bill – I believe in AB and I hope those who love another character just as much enjoy their fantasies as well.
I really enjoyed that, all these little Minieps are great! I’m not the massive Bill fan i once was, but this was his vintage dry humour all over again. I hope they show more of this side of him in Season 3, and less of the petulant Bill of late season 2.
And Team Eric fans who have to come here and cause dramas, bugger off to some other Twilight site. I am all for Eric/Alex, but i do not think you can love one without having an appreciation for the other. If you would like to get snarky with the opposite side (who is not really your enemy!) then go to Twilight sites and debate over Edward and Jacob, as that seems to be the place where fans can go and debase themselves.
Don’t mess up TB at the Nest for those of us who are mature enough to enjoy both men in the series.

Best minisode by far. Hilarious and funny, and the acting was excellent. Ms. Smallwood should get a bigger role in TB. If Bill/Sookie’ relationship goes into the dumpster this season (which I hope not, but understand because that is what T.V. is all about), I’m really looking forward to see where Bill’s story is going. The books just don’t do him proper justice…. SM is such an amazing actor, more to see, is more to love….
Definately the funniest minisode yet. Brilliantly underplayed by SM – I would love to know how many takes they have to do on scenes like this, cause it surely must be hard to keep a straight face. I’m sure the crew standing off camera must get the giggles as well.

If people are already fighting over the miniep’s, what’s going to happen once the season starts lol. I see it on both sides, hopefully once the show starts people won’t go overboard attacking eachother. I’ve read comments about Eric or Eric fans that I thought were rude, but I ignored it to tell you the truth because no need to get into an internet fight. And yes, I see Eric fans who bash bill and are rude to Bill fans. Hopefully, everyone will be able to just think before they speak and choose their words carefully. Maybe then everyone can just have discussions instead of insulting eachother.
Now I’m an Eric fan but just wanted to say that they should really do his hair like this more often. I prefer it this way, looks better. From S3 trailers, seems like his hair is looking better though.

This is by far the BEST minisode ever!!! Second place goes to Jessica’s, then Fangtasia. Damn, now this is the Bill we’ve all been waiting for. Finally, they ‘revamped’ his look! I just love it now that his blue eyes are easier to see and I love it when he smiles. Plus I love all the energies (both positive and negative) that one Bill-centered ep can generate. Bill IS the man, not because he is the man in the books – It’s just because HE is STEPHEN MOYER. I love Alex for all the right (and wrong) reasons but it is what it is. And SM is the only actor in the cast who has enough star power and charisma to pull off the lead actor role. Kudos to AB for that minisode that both TEAMS obviously enjoyed and ranted over. Damn, 80+ comments? Far out!
RFLMAO. Props to both Stephen Moyer and Beth Grant for making this the best minisode yet! She said everything that I think when I see Stephen/Bill but will never say out loud.
BTW I really laughed at the pirate reference because Beth Grants’s alma mater…East Carolina Univeristy in Greenville, NC. has the Pirate as mascot. She’s a very proud Pirate as are most people in this area.

I loved this minisode, it made me chortle the whole time. Bill looked smexy, as usual, and if I was Ms. Smallwood, I would’ve thrown propriety right out the window (along with my britches) and ravished him myself.
