Alexskarsgard.net has an interesting interview from Sci-FiNow magazine.
From playing a Sergeant in Generation Kill to Vampire Eric Northman in True Blood, it can’t be denied that Stellan Skarsgård’s son has a range and depth of his very own…
A favorite character in Charlaine Harris’s novels, and quite a pivotal one later in the series, Eric Northman has become a firm favorite among fans of the television show as well. We suspect that Alexander Skarsgård has rather a lot to do with that appeal, so we jumped at the chance to ask him about his attraction to Eric as well.
You’ve played a US Marine in Generation Kill and you’re staring in the remake of Straw Dogs, but what was it
that struck a cord with you in True Blood?
Initially it was Alan Ball. My agent called and asked me if I’d like to work on a vampire series, and I was like, “What? What is that?” They said it was Alan Ball, and I said okay.
The name attracted you then?
Oh definitely. I was a big fan of his work. And then when I met with Alan, he told me about the character, this 1,000-year-old Viking vampire, and I was like “Hell yeah, I’ll do that.”
