Check it out peoples! It’s the cover for the new IDW True Blood comic book featuring all our favorite True Blood characters (except Bellefleurs, wassup with that?). This thing is gonna sell faster than Vampire Bill doing that zoomy thing he does.
True Blood issue 1, the first of a six-issue comic series (each issue has 32 pages), will debut at the San Diego Comic-Con. And according to the HBO Store will ship July 21st. They’ll be priced at $4.99 (wait, wasn’t it just $3.99 yesterday?).
The story co-plotted by True Blood series creator Alan Ball, with a script by David Tischman (Bite Club) and Mariah Huehner, and includes art by David Messina (Star Trek: Countdown). There’s a bonus inside every issue: an exclusive pullout gatefold poster by David Messina!
As previously reported: According to the publisher’s official press release, the first story arc will find Sookie Stackhouse and friends ”waiting in Merlotte’s bar for a strangely portentous raging storm to subside. Soon, they discover they’ve been trapped by an entity that feeds off of raw emotions and begins killing off the patrons one by one until his hunger is sated.”

price went up to $4.99 but now ships on the 21st according to hbo website. I reported the same as you- did they raise the price just today?

I had no interest in the comics but after seeing this cover I just might have to pick one up.

I am with crazy for bill and also charlotte, I hope that I can also get it in canada, in like a comic books store, or chapters. I hope that hbo will not hord all the copies and profits. I for one can not justify ordering from the hbo store in us funds. I have tryed to see if they will be avalable in canad, and I have not found anything yet. We got twilight’s graphic novel so that makes me kind of hopfull. I t is hard to get any true blood merchandise in canada or in the u.k. as in the u.s. I tkind of sucks. i think their is any one palce in canda that sells the true blood drink.
This is Incredible! Just Awesome! Wow! a comic book! Can hardly wait to see 1 This is just what the fans need to keep them in the loop over the long hiatus periods! I’ll bet that None of the cast,crew or Alan Ball thought it would become as popular as it has! Congrats to All of them!

Oh WOW! I was already super-stoked about this, now I’m damn near rabid! I’m a casual comic book reader, so this definitely appeals to me. I much prefer this style artwork to the other style shown on promo posters – this looks much darker, and more stylized.
The only thing that concerns me, as others have mentioned is WHERE THE HELL DO WE BUY THESE IN THE UK?!! HBO doesn’t ship here!
In the same boat here in OZ. I thought HBO had a store in the UK now or will ship to the UK? This is recent.
