Oh yeah, it’s time to roll out the post-ep goodies from HBO! Let’s start with BabyVamp Jessica’s blog where she’s dolled up a photo of Hoyt’s dinner date (be sure to leave Jess a comment about how much you love her artistic stylings):

Next up is the Postmortem archeological expedition into Eric’s human past. Enjoy!

LOL. Jessica is so cute.
I wonder if Eric has watched that TV show?
She is pretty cute for a “smokin’ hot vampire,” that’s for sure.
I wonder how deep a hole Eric plans to bury Russell in?
Curious. The only scene that I didn’t like in all of this episode was the flashback to 900AD. Looked like one of those glassed tableaux at the New York Museum of Natural History.
The events as they unfolded had been hinted at so broadly in previous eps that only the milkmaid was a surprise. What was the motive for the attack, exactly? A nice Scythian crown for KRE’s vitrine collection? And why would the royal pair wear ceremonial coronets around a domestic campfire? Whole thing was hokey-silly. (IMO only, and I don’t expect a lot of agreement ;-)))))
LOVED the gorgeous smooth-talking Eric scenes in the mansion, though. First-rate Viking raid.
The Viking flashbacks are always cheezy, IMO, but this one did have better content.
Denmark?? Shouldn’t it be Sweden…….
I love Jessica. that picture is such a classic 17-year old thing to do. Vamp or not – some things never change when you see someone moving in on your man!
Hmm, someone goofed. If Eric is from Malmö, he sure didn’t play by the North Sea as a child. Malmö is on the Øresund, part of the *Baltic*. It was also, for the vast part of its history, Danish. Ah well.
Thank you for that detail, Squidly.
With a budget to die for, and a ton of brains at work on this series, Alan Ball and the producers can’t be excused for that sort of “it’ll do for Eric’s flashback”. The Eric back story gets more foolish by the moment.. They could have dispensed with stupid postmortem, too, and spent the loot on a researcher. IMO. of course.
Well, if we’re being super nit-picky, they also goofed on their Eric/Godric timeline from last season to this. Lorena claims that she hasn’t seen Bill in over 70 years, and that checks out – a flashback shows her releasing him in 1935. But Eric replies that he hasn’t seen his maker for “much longer than that”. If he was with Godric in 1945, as is shown this season, that’s only 65 years, and it’s implied that they continue hunting werewolves together beyond that.
Oops?
Chalk it up to the stresses of production. Not *everything* can be perfect. :)
