Kristin Bauer (Vampire Pam) is involved in many organizations but one that stands out is Tails for Whales which is the International Fund for Animal Welfare’s campaign to save whales from extinction.
Kristin and her husband, the South African musician Abri Van Straten have been involved in the campaign promoting and participating at events to let people know about crimes committed against whales. She spoke yesterday at the Earth’s day event in Washington D.C to draw attention to whale hunting because the Obama Administration plans to support the proposed lifting of the ban on commercial whaling, to allow the Japanese and other nations to hunt whales in limited numbers. Currently, the Japanese hunt whales in the Antarctic under the guise of ‘scientific whaling’, contrary to international law. Attempts to get them to stop have repeatedly failed.
As we reported earlier, Abri Van Straten has released a song for the whale campaign, “Voices from the Blue” – proceeds will help protect whales. One thing you can do to help IFAW and join Abri and Kristin in their campaign, is to download the song. Abri, wrote the song especially for the whale campaign and you can get it on CD Baby. It’s a $2 download and the money goes to IFAW’s whale campaign. Tell all your friends to download this lovely song!
Kristen also asks everyone to call the White House and voice our anger at the lifting of the whaling ban with this message: “President Obama: Stop the sellout and save the whales!” Call the White House comment line at (202) 456-1111.
You can also write to your Congressional members and ask them to keep the whaling ban in place. Write to the White House via IFAW. Tell President Obama that you stand with 75 percent of Americans who favor a ban on commercial whaling.
Not enough? Still want to do more? Donate to IFAW directly on their Web site. If you really want direct action against whalers, donate to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. Every year they sail to the Antarctic whale sanctuary and physically try to stop the Japanese from killing whales. This year they were highly successful, reducing the kill number by over half with their constant harassment of the whaling ships.

I bought Abri’s track – too sexy voice on him!
Kristin you are such a beautiful soul that doesn’t only have the ambition to save these beautiful creatures – you give a good rant too.
You can rant on our fan girls speak out column anytime!
Abri – your voice is sexy and I am happy you have found your soul mate. :)
Let’s reach that million dollars!!!
I wish Pam stop doing that hands gesture, is so ANNOYING.
Administrator I love the site, can you replace that pic, please :)
I got a letter from my senater that he would support the ban on whale hunting. Everyword counts. Even if you do not have the funds. Just contact someone in the senate and put in the word.
Bravo, Kristin & Abri!
Here is a link to find contact information for your US Government Representatives from the President & VP to your local Reps…. see below…
Can’t friggin BELIEVE the President would consider taking us a step back into such barbaric ways. If the Japanese savagely murder these beautiful creatures openly when it’s illegal, I can only imagine the massacre if they “allow a limited amount”.
Call, write, email, fax and tweet your elected officials, Fangtasia Fans! We must speak for the whales who cannot speak for themselves. Stupid humans cannot be allowed to wipe out another species.

After I let them know how I feel, and ask my friends to do the same, I am sending a message of support to the Sea Shepherd Crew.
Thanks again, Kristin…you’ve solidified your spot as my favorite actress on the show (“Pam” and “Lafayette” are the best!) by spotlighting this worthy cause in real life.
Now what are you all waiting for??? Contact the government (your tax dollars are paying for them to work for YOU) and tell them you don’t support those who support the slaughter of whales!
