Sam Trammell

Here’s an interesting story about yesterday’s Sam Trammell’s visit to Charleston from someone who attended the event. You can read her whole story here. Kaci got to ask the Question that fandom basically has been asking itself since the finale.

“Since drinking Eric’s blood made Sookie and Lafayette attracted to Eric, and let him know where they were at all times, what will happen now that Sam has drank Bill’s blood?”

“You know, that was the first thing I thought of when I got the script! So I went to Alan Ball and asked, and he said, ‘Oh, wow! I hadn’t thought of that yet! We have to explore that in season 3!’ I don’t think Sam’s going to be attracted to Bill, but he did nearly drain the guy, so Bill will probably always know where Sam is and have some control over him. But that’s up to Alan!”

And here’s her review from the Q&A session:

• Sam plays bass guitar and cello, and used to be in a lot of bands. He didn’t start acting until his senior year of college.
• Sam was talking about the first time he met Anna Paquin and he said they had both already gotten the parts, but they were reading with a Tara and Bill who did not end up getting the roles, and they were both squealing and hugging ’cause they were happy they had the part, but the other two were like “…” and they felt bad for them.
• The interviewer says, “So, Sam, I hate to do this because your parents are here, but it’s so prevalent on the show, that I have to ask. Whenever someone else does a nude scene, they’re always somewhere warm and comfortable, like a couch or a bed. But whenever you do it, it’s outside in the woods, and it looks cold.” And there’s this long moment where Sam is clearly trying to decide if he should read into the subtext of that or just take it at face value, then everyone starts cracking up, including his parents, and Sam’s just shaking his head with this look on his face like, “Oh, mom…” And then he told this story about how when you’re on set, you can just stand there in your bathrobe and talk to the crew about cars, and then come back and do it after you’ve “slept with the chick” but when you’re outside, they never seem to want to talk to you afterwards, lol.
• He started talking about Comic Con and feeling like a rockstar there and had to stop and explain to everyone what Comic Con was, lol.
• Sam still takes acting lessons, and the person he’s working with now is named Kim. She’s a Jungian, so she’s always having him talk about his dreams. One story in particular is really bizarre, but also bizarrely cool. He tells her about a dream he had about a mouth guard sitting in a jar, surrounded by mold. He says the dream was really intense. She has him paint the picture and take it to the set. It now resides in one of Sam’s desk drawers in his office, and he looks at it before scenes sometimes to get into character. How that helps, I have no idea, but the story is so strange that I can’t help but love it.
• One of the fan questions was from two ladies asking if Sam would come out for a drink with them later, and he said he’d love to, but he had to get up early in the morning to take a flight to Las Vegas, because he and Rutina (Tara) are hosting a party there together. He said his costume is “A Viking Sorcerer” because it was the weirdest thing he could think of. A Viking helmet with blond braids, a sorcerer’s robe, and a Harry Potter wand. He said there would likely be pictures and video on YouTube.
