Ok so I totally agree with you! But to me the egg was the worst thing. It took the whole show to this new, really unbelievable, place for me. I’m a huge fan of the books so Maryann was hard enough for me to grasp but come on people, an egg?!?!?

Yep, I remember seeing the behind the scenes thing where he asked George Lucas if he could have purple.
But see, I had to make it okay in my head and with the previously established canon…I did so by deciding that since red (sith) and blue (jedi) colors make purple, Mace Windu was trying to make a statement about the balance of the force between light and dark. Don’t ask :P
Do I get the geek award of the night for that mess?

KF, TC is right about that. Samuel L specifically requested that purple lightsaber. Those who adore purple require purple, you know,… if it’s at all possible.

OK, anyway back to what I thought was a some-what vampire reality world. I just have one question. This was the biggest WTF, in that whole episode, for me.

WTF is up with he large egg? If Tara laid that thing, that’s gotta hurt.

Honey, i’m so with you. Last episode bugged the shit out of me as well. I am DONE with tiresome zombie stuff, we have seen enough and hello, terrible plot holes! Why is Maryanne kicking back at the house leaving Sam to mooch around the whole day rescuing kids? Where’s the sense of urgency? I know why Bill left Sookie in Bon Temps and I guess she has to get caught by Maryanne at some stage but they did a rubbish job of setting that up, it was out of character for Bill. Uber grumbles. Oh and the list of story lines that need tying up is a mile long now, not gonna be done in an hour and i’m gonna be pissed.

Ya! No kidding about the menfolk doing their spring cleaning! First it was ridiculous – as you said – bugger fieeesh to fry here, guys! And also – when do men all get together to tidy up willingly?

yeah actually I didnt want to sound more bitch but I also had problems with Jason, Andy and Sam cleaning Merlotte’s at the start of the episode… WTF???? the whole village is in flames, a maenad is hunting them and they are playing the tidy boys??? not to mention eric flying like superman!
i like that to put all the pieces in the puzzle, and I like to feel I’m being taken seriously even if it’s fantasy.

Nice article ZZ! I cracked up at points!!!
I’ve been a lover of fantasy since I was 7 years old and first saw the Tantive IV being chased by Darth Vader’s Star Destroyer! (yeah, I really am just that much of a geek. I’m also old as dirt for remembering this) I have loved all things vampire my whole life, I adore witches, warlocks, Aes Sedai and Jedi Knights and all manner of crazy, cool stuff. In short, I can and do suspend belief quite easily.

That being said, I also like to super analyze everything and break it down into itty bitty pieces and stick it under a microscope to find the flaws. (WTF is up with Mace Windu having a purple lightsabre!?) Then I get to have fun coming up with scenarios to make these alleged errors make sense so I can rest easy once more.

So I think that is our mission here. We must look at episode 11 and roll it around in our brains, twist it up like a pretzel, squish it, bend it, fold it and then spit it back out in some way that gives us back the joy joy feelings we had waaay back when!

I may not be much help though, because I’m still struggling with a few episodes in season one :D
