“Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark,” the upcoming Broadway musical featuring songs from “U2″ members Bono and The Edge, is facing yet another difficulty as Evan Rachel Wood has walked away from the production.
Wood was set to play Mary Jane Watson opposite Reeve Carney as Peter Parker and Alan Cumming as the Green Goblin. According to the “Spider-Man” musical’s producers, Wood was forced to depart the project due to a conflict in her schedule.
We guess that schedule conflict is related with The Queen of Louisiana affairs in True Blood world.

Surely she must have known about her Tb schedule before signing up for the musical??
Too bad spider man coudn’t have bitten her and she would simply disappear – she shouldn’t be on True Blood. She is not a good fit and most True Blood fans can’t wait until the character, Sophie Ann, is no more. So far, she is the one mistake in casting on the series.
Sorry Wolfer, I know I’m one of the few, but I loved ERW as the queen. I thought she came off perfectly as an eccentric, possibly crazy, “maybe I should be afraid of her” queen.
And then again, who the hell would make and play in a stage production of Spider-Man?
Are you kidding? Evan plays Sophie perfectly! I think you’re the only TB fan wanting her gone…her the actress that is.
I did not mind her either! I don’t think a younger ‘child’ Queen would have gone down well int TB. I think ERW did a good job portraying a selfish, egotistical biatch Queen.
I have to agree with Wolfer, she looked beautiful but her acting was so bad I could hardly stand it. I sincerely hope she took some lessons over the break.
Ugh, I frigging hate musicals so I don’t blame her for bailing. ERW is a decent enough actress, so I don’t understand why her Sophie Anne was so shit. It was partially the writing, but also the fact she’s quite a famous celeb so it was a bit distracting having her in the role. Remember we didn’t know who Stephen or Alex or Sam were before the show started, mostly. And Anna looks completely different. ERW played herself, a bubble headed Hollyweird chick well known in the tabloids, masquerading as a vamp queen. I think it was a mistake to go that way and i’m wondering how they’re going to fix it.
LOL Their going to fix it by killing her off.
I really don’t know what is it with ERW, I don’t like her, I think she’s a bit crazy, and an adrenaline junkie cause no good can come up from dating Marilyn Manson, but I thought she was perfect as Sophie Ann LeQulerc; a lot of people didn’t liked her in the role, I read very bad reviews, but I really enjoyed her performance in… I guess I would never be a casting director!
Evan was terrible as the Queen. Usually I like her acting but she was way too stiff and looked amateurish compared to the rest of the cast.
I don’t think her dropping out has anything to do with True Blood. She starts filming the HBO mini-series, Mildred Pierce, opposite Kate Winslet in April.
