Sam Trammell is lending his acting chops and funny bone to a new orginal mockumentary called Paul The Male Matchmaker that will be exclusively shown on Hulu.
Best-selling author, writer and executive producer Liz Tuccillo (He’s Just Not That Into You, How to Be Single, Sex and the City) and actor/writer Paul Bartholomew (Mad Men; Yes, Dear) have teamed up to create Paul the Male Matchmaker, a new, original series from Warner Bros. Television Group’s digital venture Studio 2.0. The 10-episode no-holds-barred comedy series about a hopeless male matchmaker who has little to no affection for women, yet is determined to help them find a soul mate, debuts Monday, February 13, just in time for Valentine’s Day, exclusively on Hulu.
Starring Bartholomew as Paul, Paul the Male Matchmaker also features an accomplished cast of actors, including Janeane Garofalo (The Larry Sanders Show), Lisa Edelstein (House, The Good Wife), Tony Hale (Arrested Development, Chuck), Sam Trammell (True Blood), David Eigenberg (Sex and the City), Jonathan Silverman (The Single Guy), Nadia Dajani (The Big C), and Darcy Sheen (Van Wilder), among other guest stars. The series also features prominent relationship experts — including The Millionaire Matchmaker’s Patti Stanger and authors John Gray (Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus), Ellen Fein and Sherri Schneider (The Rules), and Mireille Guiliano (French Women Don’t Get Fat) — whom Paul interviews when he feels his business is not thriving as it should.
“Hopefully, everyone will understand our intention,” Tuccillo continued. “By making Paul so mean, and such a buffoon, we’re trying to underline how much single women still have to put up with, even in 2012.”
The September 2011 issue of Australian AXN magazine features a picture of Alexander Skarsgård, but the interview inside the magazine is about True Blood’s creator, Alan Ball. Alan talked to the magazine before his first trip to Australia about sex with vampires, casting True Blood, and politics of the show as an allegory for the gay rights movement. Some of the other male stars are also featured inside the magazine, as you can see in the scans below.
Alan Ball: “I think there’s also something really sexy about the notion of being so incredibly intimate that you share your essence with someone. The idea of feeding on each other is kind of insane, but at the same time very alluring.”
No Anna, no Stephen :( no Award for Evan Rachel, no Globe for Fassbender *sigh* But not all was lost, as we were able to see a lot of True Blood guys enjoying the HBO’s Official After Party for the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards, at The Beverly Hilton hotel, and oh boy, they looked great.
Rejoice Truebies! we are seeing True Blood guys out and about at Golden Globe Pre Events. True Blood is not nominated but at least we’ll be getting fresh stuff to entertain you with. We’ll be updating the Golden Globes posts as we get pics in.

Former best friends Jason & Hoyt, before Jason told Hoyt "the news" PC: HBO
In Season 4, we saw best buddies Hoyt Fortenberry and Jason Stackhouse end their friendship over the news that Jason had sex with Hoyt’s ex, Jessica Hamby. True, Hoyt and Jessica were broken up, but we all know that Hoyt wouldn’t be able to let that slide. He & Jason have been friends for so long, he & Jessica had only been dating & living together for a year or two.
So what do you think is up for Hoyt? He’s lost his best friend and his girl this season. Not to mention he left his mama Maxine because she didn’t like him being with a vampire. Will he go back to her? Go back to Summer and her biscuits again? Join the Fellowship of The Sun now that he thinks vampires are “monsters”? Will he realize Jason really did try to stay away from Jessica and forgive him? His story seems pretty up in the air.
Jessica & Jason: Meant to be, or another crazy-ass relationship gone wrong for Jason?
As for Jessica: she seems pretty happy with the way things are going right now. She’s not tied down to one man, can eat who she wants, and have incredible sex with Jason when she wants. Will her sex arrangement with Jason stick, or will she want something more?
It’s hard to not see Jessica with Hoyt (since they were such a great couple in Season 2 & 3) but wants to explore of her vampire side and being tied to one man isn’t going to cut it. She sure has grown up a lot since she was made vampire in Season 1 – glad to see her relationship with Bill has improved and they can respect one another.
And finally: Jason. He has grown up a lot too – being much more responsible, being honest with Hoyt and actually being a good cop. True, he hurt his best friend (but in Ross’s defense on Friends, they were “on a break”). We all know he struggled to fight his desire for Jess, but she was too much for himto resist. He seemed offended when Jessica said, “Since when is Jason Stackhouse concerned with doing the right thing?” And what about all of those women he was forced to have sex with in Hotshot? Did he impregnate any of them? Will Mama Kitty Crystal come back for him? Will Jason become a panther after all? Will we have to see that dreadful place again? (I have to admit, I kind of like Timbo, but that’s it.)
Tell us what YOU think will happen to Hoyt, Jessica and Jason this season. Was it just the blood that Jessica gave him or is there really something deeper going on between those two? Are Hoyt’s words to Jason true? (‘You’ll never have something real with her or anybody because there’s something inside you that’s just missing.’) Who will Hoyt turn to? Will “Ghostdaddy” breed?
We are happy to report that our friends at StarDreams Events are organizing the first Spanish True Blood Convention, Fangtasia, to be held in Barcelona, and scheduled for September 28th-30th, 2012. So far, they already have their first guest, one that frequents these kinds of events often, none other than Sam Trammell! And that’s not all, keep an eye on their website if you’re planning to attend, ’cause I know they are working hard to get some other fan favorites to show as well.
