Kristin Bauer at Comic Con 2010
Lovely Kristin Bauer chatted with Zap2It during Comic Con 2010 about what’s to come for Pam in upcoming episodes.
Currently on the show, the Magister is holding Bauer’s character, Pam, captive and Eric has gone to Russell for help in freeing her. She tells Zap2it that things only get more complicated from here.
“I didn’t know Pam had an Achilles heel. To find out that she can be vulnerable is amazing, but the circumstances that they wrote are so dire that you see her humanity. She almost becomes a little girl. It’s incredible. It’s that dire.”
Kristin thinks that Alan Ball hinted at the Amnesia period for Eric in season 4 and couldn’t be more glad:
“In the books, Eric loses his mind in Book 4. And Pam and Sookie have to take care of him. And I think that would be a blast.”
And if you’re curious about what’s in Kristin’s purse you shouldn’t miss the video.

Kristin is an avowed non-human animal-lover and last night she attended the Patterns for Paws event in Los Angeles. The event benefited The Amanda Foundation, a dog and cat rescue. Here are some photos from the event and a video highlighting the work of the Foundation.

Kristin made a little video for People Magazine and talks about her male co-stars, especially Alexander Skarsgard. She calls him funny, smart, and a gentleman. No surprises there, eh?

Kristin just tweeted (@MrsvanStraten) about a new interview she gave to The TV Chick. Just in time for Pam’s big scene in the Fangtasia basement, here it is:

After a week off for the holiday (hey, even vampires need some time off), True Blood returns tonight for what is sure to be some amazing blood-sucking action. The third season has gotten off to an amazing start with the introduction of werewolves, a King, and some vampires with questionable motivations (ahem, Franklin Mott). One of my favorite characters on the show, Pam, is taking on a bigger role this season. The fabulous, sassy, preppy, powerful vampire has had some of my favorite scenes so far. I recently had the chance to speak with Kristin Bauer (who plays Pam), about her character, working very closely with Alexander Skarsgard (her maker Eric Northman), and environmental causes that are very close to her heart.
I think Pam has some of the best scenes in the show, especially when she tried to stop Sookie in the season premiere.
Right?! I am so lucky to have such great words to say.
How do you relate to your character? She’s not human, but there are human elements to Pam.
Definitely, she was human 100 years ago. She was also very eager to leave that world once she saw the option of Eric’s power and immortality and she’s never looked back. That’s one of the things that makes Pam so much fun to play. She is un-remorseful, unapologetic, which are two traits some of us could probably use a touch of. She is, in some ways, who I wish I could be but alas, that directness might leave me very lonely.
What do you think Pam was like in her human life?
I have no idea, and hope to find out! But in my imagination – I see her as having been a true free spirit in a time where it was impossible for a woman to have any freedom of thought or movement. I am obsessed with free will, it is the basis of all my animal rights work and a hallmark of my beliefs. I believe in free will, very different than freedom. Free will implies choice as opposed to the absence of obstacles. I am pained by the cruelty of taking choice from any living being.
Pam is soft spoken but powerful at the same time. How do you find that balance?
I have often noticed that the most powerful one in the room can be the one who appears to care the least, and is often the most under-spoken. Power is not always loud or trying very hard. I guess power doesn’t have to.

EyeCon is proud to announce the launch of its 2010 second annual True Blood convention, November 5-7 in Orlando, Florida. Fan favorites Sam Trammell, who plays the shapeshifter “Sam Merlotte,” and Kristin Bauer, who plays the beautiful and sexy vampire “Pam” are confirmed to appear!
This is a great chance to meet the actors and get together with friends in an intimate setting that promotes fun, fun, fun and some more fun. Last year Tincar, Lividity and I met and talked to all the actors, met some great True Blood fans, made new lifelong friends and did some drunken posting. What’s drunken posting? Well, hopefully the readers of this site will experience it again. And if any of you Nesters plan on going contact us and we’ll do a meet up. Great times!
More actors from True Blood will be added to the guest list as time goes on, so get your tickets and rooms early and be a part of the best convention ever. For all the information you’ll ever need go to eyeconfla.com

Eonline has posted a couple of wee-spoilers. Nothing too extreme – hardly warrants the fancy graphic. But there it is, for our fan(g)s who are going spoiler-free.
