The September 2011 issue of Australian AXN magazine features a picture of Alexander Skarsgård, but the interview inside the magazine is about True Blood’s creator, Alan Ball. Alan talked to the magazine before his first trip to Australia about sex with vampires, casting True Blood, and politics of the show as an allegory for the gay rights movement. Some of the other male stars are also featured inside the magazine, as you can see in the scans below.
Alan Ball: “I think there’s also something really sexy about the notion of being so incredibly intimate that you share your essence with someone. The idea of feeding on each other is kind of insane, but at the same time very alluring.”

Kevin at the Puma presents Riddim + Run benefiting Soles 4 Souls in October 12, 2011
Breakout Kings returns for its second season sometime in 2012 but not without our favorite brujo Kevin Alejandro. Kevin signed on for a guest spot for the return of A&E’s Breakout Kings.
Kevin plays a tatted-up Latino inmate dying from lung cancer. With only a few months to live, he’s convinced that he can atone for his past crimes by committing new ones — against people who have thus far escaped all secular punishments for their known sins. He escapes prison and goes on a murder spree.
Interested in watching..? I’d say. Think I’ll have to check this one out.

According to EW.com, Grant Bowler (Coot!) and Kevin Alejandro (Jesus) have signed on for ABC’s drama, “GCB.”
“GCB” (formally titled “Good Christian Belles”) has cast Alejandro as Danny, a local butcher who offers to supply meat for a restaurant named Booby-licious in exchange for a date. Yeah, you heard that right, Booby-licious. Yikes.

Kevin Alejandro is in one episode, while Bowler will appear in at least two, portraying Mason Massey, a “frozen foods magnate and thoroughbred horse breeder.”
No word when this will hit the tube.

Some of the True Blood actors exhibited their support for worthy charitable causes by making appearances at some events this week.
In New York City at The Plaza Hotel, Nelsan Ellis walked the red carpet at the 2011 Skin Sense Awards Gala, which benefits the The Skin Cancer Foundation and recognized achievements in skin health, including public education about sun protection and skin cancer prevention.

Kevin Alejandro showed his support for Soles 4 Souls, an organization that donates shoes to adults and children, Oct. 11 when he showed up at the Puma presents Riddim + Run benefiting Soles 4 Souls held at Siren Studios in Hollywood.
Last night, Ryan Kwanten attended CAA’s Young Hollywood Party, benefiting Communities In Schools at The Colony, Los Angeles. Communities In Schools is the same charitable organization that is currently auctioning the on set meet and greet with Ryan and Alexander Skarsgård that we posted earlier this week.

Kevin Alejandro PC: HBO
Kevin Aleandro talks to YRB Magazine about his start as an actor (as a boxing chicken in a second grade play!), his role on True Blood, and what is next for him. We’ll miss you on True Blood, Kevin, but hopefully you’ll get to pop in sometime to visit Lafayette!
YRB: How does working on True Blood differ from the other shows you’ve worked on?
Kevin: It’s just a chance to go into a world that doesn’t exist, and you get to go creatively to places that you wouldn’t get to go to when you’re doing more reality based shows. It’s so much fun, too. Everyone there is great and we get cool locations. I mean, we are shooting in the middle of the night, but visually it’s so cool and I have a great time.
YRB: What are five things fans should know about you?
Kevin: I’m a daddy. I’m a husband. I’m a surfer. I play a little guitar. I’m a romantic. I’m a family man; I love my family.
YRB: What’s next?
Kevin: I think I mentioned earlier I’m going to New Orleans to shoot that movie [Hide. I play a detective on that one, so I’ve been lucky to not be typecast at all]; it’s a movie of the week, actually, for TNT. I’m playing a detective. It’s a really cool story. I’m trying to figure out who the serial killer is. It should be a lot of fun. I get to be out in New Orleans for a month. I also did this movie, The Red State, with Kevin Smith. I think that’s coming out in October.
