Grant Bowler Interview: The Return of Cooter?

cooter cooterGrant Bowler who played Cooter the werewolf in season 3 of True Blood was interviewed by the Sydney Morning Herald. Although his character is currently dead, Bowler says that there’s a potential that he might somehow be resurrected for another appearance on True Blood.

“There’s always a chance that Cooter may come back from the dead but I’m not telling you whether he does or he doesn’t. Alan Ball (the show’s creator) is the cleverist man I’ve ever met and I’m not alienating him for anybody,” he laughs.

Bowler said he had such a great time on True Blood and has great respect for his fellow actors on the show:

“I loved it, I loved the people, loved the job,” he says.

“It was good fun that one. I made a lot of really, really good friends, who are still really, really good friends and had a ball doing it. You’re working with people you just dream of working with and everybody is bringing the best that they’ve got to the table and challenging each other every day of the week. It would be very, very difficult to find something more exciting than True Blood.”

Tamara Mousner was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. She was in Venice Beach over the weekend (Friday, April 29th) and got her picture taken with Grant Bowler (Cooter) and Stephen Moyer (Bill)!

Does this mean that Coot may be brought back to life by a witch (or did Russell bring him back to life with his blood that we don’t know about)? Or is this just two friends hanging out?

Thank you, Tamara for sharing your picture with us. Looks like you had a great time!

Grant Bowler to Portray Hank Rearden in Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged, Part I”

grantbowler cooterGrant Bowler, who played the werewolf Cooter in True Blood season 3, has the major role of Henry “Hank” Rearden in the new film, “Atlas Shrugged, Part I.” This film is based on Ayn Rand’s 1957 novel which highlighted her philosophy of Objectivism and made the question, “Who is John Galt” famous. The film covers only the first third of the novel and will be released on April 15, 2011.

atlas shrugged book cover 175x300 cooterFilm synopsis: Dagny Taggart (Taylor Schilling) runs Taggart Transcontinental, the largest remaining railroad company in America, with intelligence, courage and integrity, despite the systematic disappearance of her best and most competent workers.

She is drawn to industrialist Henry Rearden (Grant Bowler), one of the few men whose genius and commitment to his own ideas match her own. Rearden’s super-strength metal alloy, Rearden Metal, holds the promise that innovation can overcome the slide into anarchy.

Using the untested Rearden Metal, they rebuild the critical Taggart rail line in Colorado and pave the way for oil titan Ellis Wyatt (Graham Beckel) to feed the flame of a new American Renaissance.

Hope rises again, when Dagny and Rearden discover the design of a revolutionary motor based on static electricity – in an abandoned engine factory – more proof to the sinister theory that the “men of the mind” (thinkers, industrialists, scientists, artists, and other innovators) are “on strike” and vanishing from society.

Find more information at the film’s official site.

Thanks to Elena for the find on this one!
