Always one to show up at the classy events, Chris Bauer attended and participated in the 10th anniversary of the Word Theatre in Santa Monica, CA. The event, which doubled as a benefit for low income schools, was held last night and featured stories being told to an audience sitting on the floor.

The World Theatre is a storytelling salon that has, in recent years, expanded its reach, with monthly salons in New York and periodic events in London. All evenings are recorded and repackaged on CDs sold through Harper Collins Audio.

It’s nice to see that other people are recognizing the true awesomeness of Chris Bauer (who plays the Mighty Sheriff Andy Bellefleur). Chris Bauer is at the top of the Cheers & Jeers meter in the new issue of TV Guide (dated September 19-25, 2011).  Although we do not agree with calling Andy a “dim-bulb”.

Kristin Bauer: “Chris Bauer Is Definitely One Of The Main Girl-Crushes On Set!”

Kristin Bauer van Straten spoke with HuffPost and gushed a bit about Pam’s relationship with Eric, her vulnerability and crying a lot. She even mentioned the Bellefleurs (yay!). We already knew it, but she confirms that Chris Bauer Is One Sexy Mofo and explains how everybody loves him on set.

On her Maker:

“He really is the one rock in her life — the one person she really loves and would do anything for. She would die for Eric. That’s it for her. He’s her maker. He really is her best friend, her daddy, and they just have such a complicated relationship. And she loves being his lieutenant. She doesn’t want to be first-in-command, so when he’s not there to be her rock, she doesn’t like it. That will definitely come into play when we go into Pam and Eric’s pasts next season.”

"He's got some sort of x-factor"

On the True Blood cast & Bellefleurs:

“It’s like lightening striking. I’ve been on a lot of sets, and this doesn’t happen everyday. We have such a big family. Seventy percent of the show, I’m not in, so I like to see everyone’s storylines. I don’t know anything about the werewolf world or Sam’s world. Every week, I’m just fascinated.

One of my favorite moments all season was that great scene in episode 10 between Chris Bauer and Todd Lowe, the Bellefleurs. I couldn’t wait to see that.

Chris [Bauer] is definitely one of the main girl-crushes on set — we all love him. He’s got some sort of x-factor [laughs].”

She may have a crush on Chris Bauer — and let’s face it, who doesn’t? — but she does have some trouble getting one cast-member’s name right.

“I’m watching the show and reading the scripts every week, and after what seems like years, I have a scene with Ryan [Kwanten], and halfway through the day, Anna [Paquin] says to me, ‘Do you realize you’re calling him Jason?’ And Ryan is so sweet, that he never even said a word. He was just responding to Jason all day.”

Chris Bauer: “True Blood Is A Giant Slice Of Cake”

vlcsnap 2011 08 13 15h19m08s56 chris bauer andy bellefleur Chris Bauer talks with NYMag about sharing precious screen time with so many other actors, Andy’s V addiction, and whether The Mighty Andy Bellefleur will ever shape up and become marriage material.

We learned very early in this season that you are Bill’s great-great-great grandson. Is that story line going to come back into the mix? It’s just dangling there at the moment.
I hope it does. I don’t know yet. If I remember right, Andy had a kind of improbably sympathetic connection to Bill at the very beginning [of this season], and the writers are so deliberate the way they plot this show, I wouldn’t be surprised if that sympathy is resurrected somehow. I’m hoping there’s a vein that they’ll tap there later, because it could be really sweet.

Were you disappointed when you heard that True Blood didn’t get any Emmy nominations?
The Emmys seem like an entity unto themselves that have an agenda that sometimes corresponds to quality, sometimes doesn’t. There are certainly lots of people on True Blood who deserve that kind of attention and don’t get it, and that’s always frustrating. But you gotta pick your battles, and that’s one that’s just not very winnable. And this is just my two cents, but I don’t think True Blood is primarily a performance-oriented show; it’s more of an event-type show. I really feel like True Blood is a big, giant slice of cake for the audience every week; it’s offering people 60 minutes of sometimes thought-provoking entertainment. If you’re gonna give an Emmy out, you should probably give it to the audience of True Blood.

Chris Bauer was ever so-charming on KTLA recently and admitted his need to sometime slip into his Andy Bellefleur-voice when approached by the show’s fans! Sworn to secrecy on any spoilers, Bauer talked about a potential storyline for Andy from the books and a little about his role on a The Conspirator, a film about the Abraham Lincoln assassination that was directed by Robert Redford. It’s always nice to see an interview with our favorite V-addicted sheriff!
