Janina, Ryan, Carrie & Joe

We’ve got even more Golden Globes After Party Red Carpet chat from some True Blood stars. Janina Gavankar posted this video by MTV on her blog that features her, Ryan Kwanten, Carrie Preston and Joe Manganiello. Thanks Janina and MTV!

Unfortunately for all of us “True Blood” fans, we still have quite a wait for the premiere of season five. And while the waiting does indeed suck, MTV News was lucky enough to attend HBO’s fancy Golden Globes party on Sunday where we encountered not one but four excellent cast members—Ryan Kwanten, Janina Gavankar, Carrie Preston and Joe Manganiello—who gave us a little preview of what’s in store for their characters.

“Jason is hanging onto every shred of humanity as it is, and he was lucky to survive last season. He was on the brink of death several times,” Ryan said of Jason Stackhouse’s failed werepanther transformation. “This season he’s finally becoming a man, I think. He’s got responsibility in his life. He’s in a position of authority too because Andy is not doing too well with being a sheriff.”

Carrie Preston posted the trailer for the film she directed, “That’s What She Said” on her Facebook page. The film will be shown at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.

This looks like a really awesome movie. Bravo Carrie!

Anne Heche, Marcia DeBonis and Alia Shawkat star in the sophomore directing effort of True Blood actress Carrie Preston, That’s What She Said. Written by fellow actress Kellie Overbey (That’s Life), the comedy will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival Friday, Jan. 20, at the Prospector Square Theatre at 5:30 pm.

Heche and DeBonis star as longtime best friends, one trying to move on from a broken relationship and the other just starting a new one. When they meet a distraught woman with her own romantic problems played by Shawkat, the trio ends up stumbling through a series of New York City misadventures.

Michael & Carrie - PC: John P. Filo/CBS

Isn’t it nice to see a good Hollywood marriage? Carrie Preston and Michael Emerson have been married for 13 years. As we all know, she plays Arlene Fowler (Bellefleur?) on True Blood and Elsbeth on CBS’ The Good Wife. He plays Finch on CBS’ Person of Interest (and was Ben on Lost).

Entertainment Weekly had a nice Q&A with the couple in their January 13, 2012 issue (with George Clooney & Viola Davis on the cover). Sadley, there is no talk about True Blood, but they do talk about how they met and what it is like when two actors are married to each other.

Carrie Preston Poses For NOH8 Protest Photo

Carrie Preston, True Blood’s fiery haired waitress Arlene, is the latest True Blood actor to pose for the NOH8 campaign that protests the passage of California’s Proposition 8, which bans same-sex marriage.

The NOH8 Campaign is a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley. Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with “NOH8″ painted on one cheek in protest.

Mariana Klaveno & Kristin Bauer participated earlier this year.

Carrie Preston’s Movie “That’s What She Said” is Not Your Average Chick Flick

Carrie Preston (at PaleyFest 2011) PC: Zimbio

We’re all so happy for Carrie Preston – the movie she directed, “That’s What She Said” will be shown at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012. Carrie was interviewed by the Insider.com about the movie, her guest starring role on The Good Wife, and a little bit about True Blood.

Insider: You’ve been working on this project for some time, right?
Carrie: Yes, I’ve been trying to get this movie made for eight years now. My dear friend Kellie Overbey wrote it and we met doing a play at Longmark theater where we were both playing Mia Farrow’s daughters. She showed me this script and I just knew we had to do it. Marcia Debonis, a wonderful character actress, was in the play with us at the time and I just had to put her in it too. So we directed this as an off-off Broadway show in New York and it went so well, I said let’s turn this into a movie. So that’s when we started the process and then a year ago we were lucky enough to get Anne Heche to join and we were able to scrape the funding together, which is no small feat, and then we shot it in New York last October.

Insider: How do you describe the movie?
Carrie: I like to call it a chick flick that’s not for pussies. It’s a down and dirty comedic look at how friendship can survive rain, puke, grease stains, Chinatown, chronic sarcasm, bizarre stranger danger, an unexplained itch, and a dangerous dildo.

Insider: And as if you weren’t busy enough, you’ve just started production on the new season of True Blood. Any tidbits you care to share about what’s ahead for Arlene?
Carrie: Well, first of all, I’m so excited. We’ve just gotten the second episode to read. It’s very interesting. The writers always come up with surprising and interesting things. All I will tell you is that we haven’t seen the last of the character that Scott Foley played in the season finale. He’s of big concern to Terry and Arlene.
