This will be the last post made at TrueBlood-news.com. It has been an incredible journey but we think now is about the right time to retire from the True Blood Community.
The truth of the matter is that ZZ & Liv haven’t been as infatuated with the show over the past couple of years and no longer have the time to do the site justice. We don’t feel it’s fair for Jody and the rest of the team to be overburdened by our deficiencies, so… with that said, we’ll be on our way.
We want to thank Jody, krystal_skyi, Jazz, Jess, AphroditeMF, latbfan, Janna & all the rest for their perseverance in keeping the site interesting and up-to-date. Their hard work and dedication is what made this site a fun place to work. Each of them spent huge amounts of their free time to share their creativity and passion for True Blood with all you you – and they never received a dime for doing it. We are super proud of all of them and consider the time spent well worthwhile for the friendships that we gained. Bravo ladies!
Another thank you certainly must go out to the creators and actors involved with the True Blood HBO series. Without their bold interpretation of the Charlaine Harris novels, we’d never have been here in the first place. Working together with the cast & crew, we were able to generate some serious dollars for charitable causes. It really makes the four years we’ve been in business definitely worth it.
And in the end, we want to heartily thank all of you for supporting us and keeping the comments coming over the past four years. Some of the jousting we had in the comments section were legendary. Well done everyone!
British science fiction magazine SciFiNow has a cover feature on True Blood in this month’s issue. Although there are interviews with Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgård and Alan Ball, they seem to be the same responses from the press conference that was held in June, so you might get a sense of déjà vu when reading this. And since this season five is yet to air on British TV, this article looks forward at that season and doesn’t really reveal anything new to the fans who have already seen the new episodes.
Here’s some good news for UK Truebies – Season five comes to FX channel on Monday 17th October, at 10pm!
Ever wondered what it would be like to sample the down home cooking in Merlotte’s? Craving for a cocktail served fresh from Fangtasia?
Well, “True Blood: Eats, Drinks and Bites from Bon Temps” might be the obvious purchase for you! We posted back in March that was available for pre-order at $29.95 and would ship Aug. 29.
Now you can get a look into this at the first few pages of the cookbook and see the 85 recipes inspired by characters, scenes and locations of the series. I just hope there is a detailed recipe on how exactly to make Gran’s pie!
Now that season 5 is underway, we all have something to look forward to again on Sunday nights. Hooray! But once it’s over and you’re back to work on Monday, don’t you just want a little bit more True Blood? Here’s a suggestion… podcasts! If you’ve never listened to one, we think it’s time for you to get started. You’re missing out on some crazy-arsed True Blood chatter! Here are two we recommend to get you started:
New to the scene is The Bloodcast hosted by friends of the site C.J. Arabia and Cricket Lee. This podcast debuted last week and promises to be hilarious. They’ve opened a group chat on Skype, so you can chat with other True Blood fans whenever you like and participate in the live chat during the east and west coast feeds of the show. Tune in on Monday to hear their recap of this week’s episode. Find out all the details at Geeknation.
The God Hates Fangs podcast debuted in 2010 and has been kicking butt ever since. Hosted by our very own AphroditeMF, GHF features an episode re-cap, comparisons to the books, discussion of the show’s awesome soundtrack, WTF of the week, news, spoilers for next week, and punk-rock jingles. WARNING! CONTAINS FREQUENT PROFANITY AND BIG-ASS SPOILERS! Get it here.
It’s always nice to be nominated – both Anna Paquin and True Blood have been nominated for a Teen Choice Award. TrueBlood was nominated for Choice TV Show: Fantasy/Sci-Fi and Anna Paquin was nominated for Choice TV Actress: Fantasy/Sci-Fi . You have to be a teenager to vote.

HBO just released a new promo and poster that gives us a brief look in the often talked about, never seen before Vampire Authority. Watch the clip below to get a look at the new season 5 teaser:

Alexander Skarsgård is featured on the cover and in a new article for UK’s The Sunday Telegraph dated April 1, 2012.
Excerpt:
But his biggest thrill in Hollywood so far was meeting his local football club Hammarby when they came to Los Angeles for pre-season training. “I took them out after they played LA Galaxy. I live in Hollywood and meet all these celebrities and I couldn’t care less. I as at a bar with a bunch of footballers from south Stockholm and I’m crying I’m so happy,
“Someone who doesn’t support a team will never get it. These are 22-year-old kids from south Stockholm. They’re not Lionel Messi. They’re not even the best team in Sweden. We’re in the second division right now. But I will never get more star struck than that.”
