Michelle Forbes
Although the time of reckoning is nigh for Maryann, Michelle Forbes continues to delight. In this latest interview, Michelle shares comments on how orgies were just another day at the office with a pervy bunny. Yep. That’s right I said bunny.
As Bon Temps’s resident maenad, Michelle Forbes has been freaking out True Blood fans since she appeared naked in the road with a pig at the end of season 1. But, “I’m really very nice,” she tells PEOPLE. “Everyone’s getting so scared when they meet me now. I could kill Alan Ball.”
How was this role described to you?
It just mentioned the more basic points of what a maenad is … That women of this sort tended to run through the woods tearing children and animals to pieces, and they were known as the “wild ones” and the “raving ones.” That was pretty much it.
Did that appeal to you?
It did! It didn’t necessarily line up with what was on the page and that was the exciting thing that sort of gets the hair on the back of your neck standing up. You start looking for a shovel because you just want to start digging to figure out what this riddle is all about.
What do you think of the current vampire craze?
In this age of vampires, what I love about True Blood the most is that it’s a post-modern take on it. Charlaine Harris and Alan Ball turned that whole mythology upside-down … It’s not just about vampires. It’s about a lot of different things. And that’s what I love about the show … It’s great to see the interaction between all these different creatures and humans.

Anna Paquin & Stephen Moyer
Speaking about the season two finale of True Blood, Stephen Moyer says there “will be blood, cliffhangers & resolutions.” He also hints at something so crazy that even if he told us, we would not believe him. Oh really?
Playing a vampire on a hit show at a time when vampires are taking over pop culture is a “pretty sweet feeling,” according to True Blood’s Stephen Moyer. But working with his fiancée Anna Paquin is a real “glorious luxury.”
“We are very relaxed together on set, off set and that can only help with some of the things that we get asked to do,” Moyer says of their job, which often includes blood-sucking sex scenes.
Now happily engaged, the costars previously kept their relationship a secret on the set of HBO’s supernatural hit.
“We were very, very cagey,” says Moyer, 39. “We kept tabs on our own relationship, let alone telling anybody because we were very concerned about how it would play out given that anybody who signed up to do one of these series signs for seven years. So, you don’t take a decision like that lightly.”

Bill & Sookie
As the couple, who play Civil War veteran vampire Bill Compton and sweet clairvoyant waitress Sookie Stackhouse, realized there was something serious going, they decided to bring their relationship into the light of day.
“If there is an inevitability to something and there is absolutely no way that that thing can be halted, then you have to go along with it,” Moyer says. “When we realized it wasn’t just some fickle infatuation or chemistry or whatever, we were able to, months later, tell everybody that we were working with.”
There’s reason they’re called actors, apparently. “Everybody was shocked,” he said of sharing their news with the cast and crew, “so I think we’d done a good job of hiding it.”
As for True Blood’s season 2 finale, which airs Sunday (9 p.m. EST) on HBO, Moyer says there will be blood — and cliffhangers and resolutions.
“It’s everything that you would want from a season finale,” he says. “But I don’t even want to make a hint at something because it’s so f–ing crazy. I could tell you something that’s going to happen, but you just won’t believe me, so it’s almost pointless.”

OK everyone, Alan Ball is giving out a few spoilers about Season 3 of True Blood. Read this interview if you want *some* idea on how closely the show will follow the books next year. [Thanks RC!]

One of the most talked about shows of the summer is True Blood, HBO’s supernatural series about vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, and all those eerie things we find both fascinating and horrifying.
With the season two finale right around the corner — “Beyond Here Lies Nothin’” airs Sunday at 9 PM ET on HBO — it’s a great time to catch up with series creator Alan Ball (pictured, with Michelle Forbes, Rutina Wesley, and Deborah Ann Woll at the TCA awards in August). Read on for his thoughts on the future of Maryann, a Sookie/Bill pairing, and even a few spoilers on season three.
If you want to look at the full transcript of the wide-ranging interview, click here. The edited version starts after the jump.
I asked my TV Squad readers what they wanted me to ask you, and one of their main questions involves the books. Some feel the show doesn’t follow the books closely enough. Your thoughts on that?
I think a book and a television show are two different mediums. If I were to follow the books, it would be all about Sookie, because Sookie narrates the story, and the other characters would rarely even show up. Jason would come into the bar and hug her in an attempt to make people think he loves his sister so he can pick somebody up. Tara wouldn’t even have existed until this season, and she’d be white. Lafayette would be dead.
So all I can say to those people is, it’s based on the books, but it’s not a literal adaptation of the books. I’m doing what I think is the best way to turn that story into a television show. Also, if I just stuck to the books, there would be no surprises. You could go pick up the books anywhere and know exactly what was coming. So personally, I don’t see any benefit of making a carbon copy of the books for TV.
Will Eric be a bigger part of the show in season three? Will he and Sookie get together?
I can’t tell you if they’re going to get together, because that’s going to ruin the anticipation. But, if you’ve been following season two, he’s definitely been doing things to make her more vulnerable and more susceptible to him. And he does want her, he’s just not sure why. I think it’s deeper than just, “I want her because Bill Compton has her.” Although that’s part of it, because Eric is a total alpha-dog. Read More »

Ryan Kwanten
Ryan Kwanten talks about True Blood, his newly found fame in the US and how he likes to break the pain barrier. Also? Ryan has no TV of his own.
HBO’s “True Blood” went from cult favorite to bona fide hit in its second season and one of the reasons had nothing to do with vampires.
Australian actor Ryan Kwanten has become one of the breakout stars on the series, playing Sookie Stackhouse’s brother Jason, a muscled-up Southern boy known more for his bedroom acrobatics than his cerebral skills.
In the last few episodes leading up to Sunday’s season finale, Jason’s gone from vampire hater to breaking out his brawn for good.
“(There’s) some method to his madness I guess,” Kwanten tells AccessHollywood.com. “There’s still stupidity there but he’s trying to channel it. He will continue to think that he’s saving the little town… And then he gets himself caught up in it.” Read More »

Sam Trammell (Charlaine Harris in background)
Sam Trammell spoke with People magazine recently about his work on True Blood. He spoke about running naked, working with Anna Paquin and revealed that someone will really be in trouble by the end of the season finale.
As True Blood’s Sam Merlotte, the shape-shifting owner of Bon Temps’s favorite bar, Sam Trammell has seen some pretty shady characters walk through the door. First, there were the vampires. Now, even his regular customers are out of control. Of course, they’re under the power of angry maenad Maryann, who’s out to sacrifice him. With the finale of season 2 of True Blood airing Sunday on HBO, Trammell spoke to PEOPLE about working with Anna Paquin, his frequent nude scenes and what’s in store for the final episode. “There’s somebody that’s in major, big, big trouble,” he says. –Aaron Parsley
Is it difficult doing all those nude scenes?
I did full frontal nudity three or four times on stage, which is more than what I’m doing on this show. But it’s a little more awkward for me than everyone [on True Blood] else because most everybody else, when they’re naked it’s because they’re having sex and they’re in … a closed set. For me, it’s because I was just an animal and I turned into a human and I could be anywhere … It’s always like I’m in the middle of outside in front of everyone and I’m standing there or running. Seeing yourself run while you’re naked is the worst.
What can we expect from the finale?
You can expect a major character — I’m not going to give it a way and say if someone dies or not — but there’s somebody that’s in major, big, big trouble. Also, I’ll say it’s going to be very surprising and it’s going to set up some cliffhangers for next year.

Maryann needs a hug
Michelle Forbes spoke with TV Guide about Maryann’s fate in the Season Two finale. She talks about the meat tree and maenads, but sadly, does not dish about that creepy egg in Gran’s bed.
What’s up with that vibrating egg we saw in bed with Tara and Eggs in the last original episode? There’s gotta be a connection to Eggs’ name, right?
Michelle: I’m going to pass on that one because I want people to be surprised as they go into it.
Speaking of eggs, you’ve been doing about as much cooking this season as Meryl Streep does in Julie and Julia. Have you learned a few culinary tricks?
Michelle: My cooking skills are not to be discussed. That’s what God provided restaurants for. I did however
have a 5 a.m. flambé lesson to cook that heart. I thought I’d better have some coffee before I started. I was nervous I was going to burn the studio down, but it was pretty easy.
I assume you weren’t cutting into an actual human heart. Please tell me you weren’t.
Michelle: No, no. I’m not sure what it was, but we all got creeped out when I cut into it because it made the worst squishing sound in the world. The irony is that I’m a 30-year vegetarian. I’ve been an animal activist my entire life, so the role of Maryann has been a bit challenging – especially with the lovely meat tree – Di-meat-tree, as he became known.
