Ryan – photo from InStyle/Jake Chessum
t’s a good week to be Ryan Kwanten – or at least a Ryan Kwanten fan! After his amazing performance as Jason Stackhouse on True Blood Sunday, we’ve got a great TV Guide interview with Ryan and now InStyle Magazine has him featured as their Man of Style!! You can find the scans below in the September 2012 issue of InStyle magazine (on stands now). Jennifer Lopez is on the cover. Ryan is featured on five glorious pages (248–252).
He tells the magazine that he will have a new clothing line, Kwik Draw Kwanten, coming out at bonton.com in 2013. The line will be distributed by the Australian label Mambo. He says his designs are a mix of surfing, skating, and early cinema, with a sense of humor.
Ryan is photographed by Jake Chessum and styled by Paul Stura
If you remember, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgård were InStyle‘s Man of Style in past issues.

The newest issue of TV Guide Magazine (dated August 13–26, 2012, a double issue) has their annual survey of the highest paid salaries of television stars. Their sources for the salary amounts are conversations with agents, network executives and studio heads.
Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgård are on the list for drama actors. TVG says, ‘premium cable networks such as HBO and Showtime can go higher with series that produce only 13 episodes a year.’

Sam – photographed by Maarten de Boer
The newest issue of TV Guide Magazine has a lovely two-page article on True Blood‘s Sam Trammell. They follow him surfing in Santa Monica, California, and talk True Blood, semiotics and surfing. Did you know he didn’t know his character Sam was a shapeshifter until after he got the part? The issue is dated August 13–26, 2012 (a double issue).

British science fiction magazine SciFiNow has a cover feature on True Blood in this month’s issue. Although there are interviews with Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgård and Alan Ball, they seem to be the same responses from the press conference that was held in June, so you might get a sense of déjà vu when reading this. And since this season five is yet to air on British TV, this article looks forward at that season and doesn’t really reveal anything new to the fans who have already seen the new episodes.
Here’s some good news for UK Truebies – Season five comes to FX channel on Monday 17th October, at 10pm!

The new issue of Entertainment Weekly has a couple of pages on the fae club set on Season 5 of True Blood. Set designer, Suzuki Ingerslev, gives her behind-the-scenes details on the set and props.
Grotesque visages framing the doorways have special meaning to Ingerslev. “They’re a reference to season 4, when the faeries turned into goblins,” she says of the custom art. “The face is the thing I’m most proud of, even if the audience doesn’t get it.”
EW sure loves Joe Manganiello. He is featured in their ad for Entertainment Weekly Events (at their Comic-Con celebration on July 14th).
The magazine is dated August 10, 2012 (issue #1219) and contains 26 pages on 50 years of James Bond if you are interested. It is on newsstands tomorrow.

Alexander Skarsgård is in the September 2012 issue of GQ UK or British GQ. He’s only in two pages, but we blew up the text so you could read it better. If you buy the magazine, there is even a scratch ‘n sniff for the new Calvin Klein fragrance “Encounter”. As you remember, Alex will be the “new face” for Encounter. (Photo by Steven Klein)
If you are looking for the magazine – Claire Danes is on the cover. It can be found in the US at Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million. I think there is a delay before they stock foreign magazines, but it is on newsstands today in the UK.

Three Truebies are in the new Entertainment Weekly this week. Kristin Bauer van Straten‘s Pam made the SoundBites (quotes of the week) again this week for her line, “Okay, break’s over. Time to get back up on that pole.”
Stephen Moyer is in EW this week in the music section. He tells us about 4 of the songs on his iPod. Tom Waits is his ultimate hero.
Joe Manganiello is featured in a humor article on “The Boys of Summer”. There is an illustration of Joe (see right) with his fellow Magic Mike co-stars. They describes Joe stitching one of his G-strings in the movie as “beyond adorable.”
The issue (#1218) is dated August 3, 2012 and hits newsstands on Friday, July 27, 2012.
