jgFHM1 janina gavankarJanina Gavankar plays a sensible single mom, who just happens to be a shapeshifter, on True Blood but in this month’s FHM she shows off her ultra sexy side to the men’s magazine. The magazine called Gavanankar a “shapeshifting stunner” who is beloved because the beauty is a self professed geek.

“She is, by her own admission, a big geek and a huge fan of sci-fi and fantasy. You could probably woo her with a list of your top five elves, if you tried.”

Janina recently posted three pictures on her site and back in November  tweeted about the shoot: “I’ve never done a shoot as sexy as the one I’ve just done.”  Be sure to check her out in this month’s issue!

Update: Joe Manganiello Covers “DAMAN” Magazine

Da Man Joe Feb 2012 cover

DAMAN Magazine must really like True Blood actors. First they had Ryan Kwanten, then Jim Parrack, and now Joe Manganiello. Joe is featured on the February 2012 magazine. Now updated with a gallery pics and excerpt from the interview.

DA MAN: What was the biggest motivation for you to choose to pursue a career in showbiz?
Joe Manganiello: I grew up a misfit. I never fit in. I had all of these parts that were in direct conflict with each other. I was an athlete, but I was extremely artistic. I was a big strong kid who was also very sensitive and empathetic. I was a jock who was good at math and chess and loved to read … I didn’t know what group to hang out with in school until I started acting. When I did, I realized everyone was as weird and out of place as I was, and that I could combine all of those weird opposing characteristics together and create characters that made sense to me in my weird way. Acting was the only place that I ever felt like I belonged so went for it with everything I had.

CoverWth2 alan ballThe September 2011 issue of Australian AXN magazine features a picture of Alexander Skarsgård, but the interview inside the magazine is about True Blood’s creator, Alan Ball. Alan talked to the magazine before his first trip to Australia about sex with vampires, casting True Blood, and politics of the show as an allegory for the gay rights movement. Some of the other male stars are also featured inside the magazine, as you can see in the scans below.

Alan Ball: “I think there’s also something really sexy about the notion of being so incredibly intimate that you share your essence with someone. The idea of feeding on each other is kind of insane, but at the same time very alluring.”

sfxvampires2012Cover 219x300 publicationsSFX have released another of their vampire special editions, and of course, True Blood features heavily.  There’s new interviews with Kristin Bauer Van Straten and Alexandra Breckenridge (yes, they’ve erroneously used a photo of Brit Morgan *facepalm*), an article in which two journalists debate whether or not the show lost its bite in season four, and a review of the season three DVD/Blu-Ray.  The magazine also comes with some vamp-tastic goodies: a double-sided poster (of vampire movies Martin and Vamp, both well worth a watch), a Dracula fridge magnet, and vampire-themed badges.

This magazine is an essential purchase for anyone interested in vampire movies and TV shows, with articles on Buffy, Twilight, Underworld, Being Human, The Vampire Diaries, Salem’s Lot, Near Dark, Ultraviolet (excellent 90s British show starring a young Stephen Moyer), and many more!
