HBO promised us a new graphic tease for Season 5 of True Blood. It’s obviously about Russell Edgington being dug up out of the concrete, but wonder what else will be dug up?

Remember that cool app on True Blood’s Facebook page that you include you & your friends’ names/profile pics in a video starring Eric, Pam, Jessica, Arlene, Andy, Jason, and Lafayette? Well, it is up for a Digiday Award along with CBS Interactive’s TV.com and WatchMojo.com. The 3 will be vying for the honor in the Digiday’s Best Entertainment Destination Category on Dec. 12, 2011 at The Digiday Video Awards Gala in New York City.
The app was only available in the US and is no longer on their Facebook page.
Congratulations to True Blood creator Alan Ball! He’s been named by Hollywood Reporter as one of the 50 most powerful showrunners in television. Long may he reign!
And for those of you who have been left devastated by the cancellation of stupendous HBO shows like Carnivale and Deadwood, fear not! The same fate will not befall True Blood. The AV Club, sister site of The Onion, has published an article speculating that no matter how low a show’s ratings dwindle, HBO is now taking the stance of not cancelling a show until it has come to a logical conclusion. Not that a show with ratings as healthy as True Blood is in any danger of facing the axe, but it’s nice to be reassured after the trauma of seeing the cliffhanger at the end of Carnivale that will never be resolved! And since True Blood is such a cash cow for HBO, perhaps the fans of other, less successful shows on HBO have the vampires to thank for their show’s survival?

HBO has put out a really cool and gross and informative video on how they got the very glamorous Pam Swynford de Beaufort to look like her skin was rotting away. The True Blood Special FX Producer Dan Rebert takes us inside all of the behind-the-scenes with Kristin Bauer van Straten.

I have been getting all of the comic books and so far the Tainted Love series has been my favorite. The illustrations are top-notch and the story was funnier and co-written by Michael McMillian (Steve Newlin). So if you haven’t purchased the individual comic books, you can get them all in this handy hardcover.

Meanwhile, Sookie and Lafayette try to help Jessica a little differently, by seeking out Eric, and the local sheriff!
