mambo fashionThe Mambo brand just got a new Mambassador! Bon-Tons Stores has announced that Ryan Kwanten will be the face of their campaign to introduce the Aussie surf/streetwear line, Mambo, in their Bon-Tons Stores stateside. Ryan will design some of the shirts himself and every product he sponsors will have his signature on them.

The entire Mambo collection launches in all of The Bon-Ton Stores’ eight nameplates for spring 2012, which will coincide with a media and marketing campaign, including personal appearances by Ryan Kwanten.

Ryan Kwanten fashion“We are very pleased with our partnership with Mambo and excited about being the first retailer in the US to offer this iconic Australian surfwear/streetwear brand. We believe Ryan will be an outstanding ambassador for this brand — and certainly one this customer will relate to,” commented Bud Bergren, President and CEO of The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. “I am sure our younger customers will be thrilled, not only with the Mambo line, but with the exclusive designs Ryan will be creating for us.”

Mambo is a fashion company built on the four lifestyle pillars of surf, art, music and humor. Kwanten, who embodies these lifestyle pillars, will serve as the face of the ad campaign and in-store visuals, while also lending his artistic influence and design to the brand for select t-shirt styles as part of the Mambo Artist Program. All designs by the actor will include his signature.

“I grew up with Mambo — my very first pair of board shorts were Mambo,” commented Ryan Kwanten. “I have been living in the US for 10 years now and when the opportunity came up to work with Mambo, not just in designing a few of their t-shirt graphics, but in launching Mambo in the US with The Bon-Ton Stores, I couldn’t resist.”

UPDATE: Below you can see the scans from September’s issue of The Stylist, courtesy of our wonderful pals at www.apaquinsource.com. Enjoy!

Anna Paquin talks to The Stylist about her life as a Londoner, her love for a good curry, fashion, hubby Stephen and of course, some True Blood (including a very discussed shower scene!).

You’ve just celebrated your one-year anniversary, True Blood has been commissioned for a fifth series, and you have four films coming out. Is this the best time of your life?
This is definitely a really amazing time in my life, personally and professionally. A lot of things are coming together in a way that is just amazing and I feel incredibly lucky. We all know it’s not always going to be brilliant. There’s always the harder times. But this is one of those really, really good moments.

Do you ever find it difficult; being both married to Stephen and romantically involved with him on screen?
Not at all. We have a life outside the show. Plus, I get the opportunity to see my husband all the time as opposed to being stuck in a random country making a movie and not seeing him for five months.

Nonetheless, it must be refreshing to have a new love interest in the character of Eric [Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård] in the fourth series?
Of course. It would be boring if all the characters were happily involved with the same person for season after season. There’s got to be conflict, there’s got to be some downs, some new people, so this season it’s the tall Swede. He’s massive – 6ft 4ins.

According to the books written by Charlaine Harris [which the series is based on] you are set to have quite an explicit scene in the shower…
Well, in the books, there are very detailed encounters in a shower. Our boss has confirmed that there is indeed a scene in a shower with Sookie and Eric, the specifics are yet to be divulged. It could be anything!

Jim Parrack in DA MAN Magazine

By Jess on Aug 11 2011 at 10:48 pm | 3 Comments »

Jim Parrack2 fashionJim Parrack took some time out from charming us all as Hoyt Fortenberry (and growing some new facial hair…) to discuss how he landed Hoyt, on-screen intimacy and his acting inspirations.

With Season 4 of True Blood underway, his character, the lovable former momma’s boy Hoyt Fortenberry could be in for some exciting twists, but nobody is giving further details. Before securing his regular role on True Blood, Parrack was in the film Annapolis and made appearances on TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Monk, Criminal Minds, Supernatural, ER and CSI. As True Blood fans know, Hoyt is in a steamy relationship with the sexy vampire Jessica Hamby, much to the chagrin of Hoyt’s controlling mother.

DA MAN: Tell us about True Blood, how you came to be on the show?
Jim Parrack: True Blood is a total blessing. I went in for the part of Hoyt, which was very small at the time and the character description was literally ‘the most nondescript human being ever’ and I thought, ‘Well, that’s either an insult or an opportunity.’ Then, I sat and talked with [True Blood Executive Producer] Alan Ball for nearly an hour and he made me feel very comfortable and we talked about Texas and growing up in a small town. The next day, I got the call that they wanted me and wanted to make the part [Hoyt Fortenberry] a regular. It was such a blessing. It has added a lot of public credibility to my career because when you cast an actor, you are in essence vouching for them. To have Alan and HBO vouch for me opened a ton of doors and to be able to act the great scenarios that our writers come up with, gives me the opportunity to put rare work out there. I say rare because an actor can’t ever be any better than the situation he gets to act and they give me extraordinary situations to act.

DA MAN: Hoyt’s relationship with Jessica involves a lot of, often racy, on-screen intimacy, what does your wife think about that?
Jim Parrack: Gracefully. She is terrific. My wife is an extraordinary and exciting actress, so she knows the dream of getting to act a story as great as the one Deb [Deborah Ann Woll] and I have been given. She is supportive and she and I are open and talk about anything that may come up. When we all started, I reached out to Deb’s boyfriend, EJ, who has now become a good friend and just made my intentions clear to him and told him if he ever wanted to talk I’d be happy to. If you go about it with patience and respect, it really is possible to not get tangled up in hurt feelings and suspicions. But, it probably costs Ciera more than I know to handle it all so well.

Audrey Fisher: Dressing Up Dark, Sexy People

True Blood’s costume designer Audrey Fisher talks in exclusive to The Hollywood Reporter on Bill Compton, Vampire Eric and Pam’s new hot vampire looks — and where to get them.

“This is the first moment we meet Bill as King in Season 4, so it was important that he exuded the luxury and polish of a well-heeled King.

Stephen wears an aubergine button-front dress shirt and a Ted Baker chocolate-brown sportcoat with a subtle lavender pinstripe and espresso velvet collar,” says True Blood costumer Audrey Fisher. Here, Moyer is seen in his new office in the King’s mansion — the room also reflects Compton’s new, elevated role. “Our production designer Suzuki Ingerslev basically redid the whole house so it kind of looks almost like a high-end Manhattan penthouse. It’s all chrome and grays and blacks and artifacts. It’s very super posh,” adds Fisher.

Vampire Eric, played by Alexander Skarsgard, has amped up his style. In the past, says Fisher, “he was occasionally kind of a mafioso. He’d show up in a gray sharkskin Versace suit or a velour track suit.” This season, “he’s more kind of rocker goth, a heightened black prince.” The jacket here is a black denim jacket with leather sleeves from designer Rick Owens’ Dark Shadow collection. “It’s sleek and sexy.”

PAM DE BEAUFORT

“This is Pam’s Witch War ensemble … I found this amazing Canadian designer Amanda Lew Kew, and she custom-made four of these biker jacket with studs which run from the shoulder down the arm. I used some extra studs to make custom earrings; her leather mitts are from Skingraft, a great local resource in L.A. for luxurious couture goth leather; the black waxed jeans were a good balance so she wasn’t all in leather; and I finished it off with an elegant tall harness moto boot from Frye.
