It’s that time of the year for sure – here I am again giving you a chance to not only donate money to a worthwhile cause (always brought to you via True Blood personalities), but to get something completely awesome for yourself or maybe for you to give away to a loved one. The latest of these is really a doozy. Check this out:
From the Vault/AllStephenMoyer:
Do you get completely stressed out every year trying to come up with what Holiday presents to get for your loved ones? Not looking forward to last minute shopping in overcrowded shops or online shopping with disappointing results? We have the perfect solution for you! Instead of a present for you husband, sister, friend, etc make a donation in their name to Facing The Atlantic. Make a donation of any amount to Facing The Atlantic in name of your loved one and download a donation certificate that you can personalize with his/her name and a personal message. You can print it and wrap it up or send it by email to your family and friends who don’t live near.
But that is not all… The Vault/AllStephenMoyer has collected some wonderful holiday presents, which were kindly donated, that they will be giving away randomly to a number of lucky participants.
Please click HERE to find out more about this worthwhile charity event. Seriously, they have some truly unbelievable prizes for this drive, so git yer butt on over there and participate!

It’s that time of year, and our friends at True-Blood.Org are presenting their holiday advent calendar once again. From December 1 until December 24 everybody can open one little door of the calendar each day. A lot of great auctions with signed True Blood Merchandise are linked via the calendar. This year, the proceeds for any of their auctions go to the Make A Wish Foundation.
Here’s the link to their calendar.

Attention all knitters/crocheters and all around crafty critters out there! Do you want to do something to help society that shouldn’t cost you much moolah? Our sister-site, AlexSkarsgard.net (along with SkarsgardNews.com and Skarsgardfans.com) is participating in a charity event that’s close to Alexander Skarsgård’s heart, and we urge you to participate too. The drive this year is to benefit “Handmade Especially For You.”
Did you know that every 9 seconds in the US a woman is assaulted or beaten? Studies suggest that up to 10 million children witness some form of domestic violence annually and that those children are twice as likely to abuse their own wives than sons of nonviolent parents. Even sadder than that, based on reports from 10 countries, between 55% and 95% of women who had been physically abused by their partners had never contacted anyone for help. Many feel they don’t have the means to walk away, they don’t know how or they’re just too afraid to take those steps in order to better their lives… or the lives of their little ones.
That’s why this year AlexSkarsgard.net decided to go with an endeavor which aids in comforting victims of abuse… Handmade Especially For You.
Handmade Especially For You wants every woman who comes into a shelter to receive a handmade scarf simply because she was brave enough to leave her abusive situation. Leaving an abusive environment is a huge step for the woman who takes it. Handmade wants to make an impact on the women who receive the scarves, most of whom have never received a personal gift, much less a handmade personal gift. We want receiving these scarves to help lift their self-esteem and help them to begin changing their lives. We hope the scarves are a symbol of every woman’s transformation.
The scarves are not for sale. They are gifts, which we give from our hearts.
Learn more here, and if you are crafty, please participate in this holiday charity drive.

Joe at last year's fan meet and greet signing autographs.
Pittsburgh native Joe Manganiello returns home for the holidays for WPXI’s My Macy’s Parade, Saturday, Nov. 26, and will also attend a post-parade meet and greet at the Waterfront Dave & Buster’s to benefit the Steel Valley Salvation Army Worship and Service Center.
For $20, fans will be able to snap a photo, get an autograph, and a Dave & Buster’s game card. Although the event doesn’t start until 1 p.m., doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Early attendees also have the chance to win a lunch, courtesy of Dave & Buster’s. The autograph session will run from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Joe was in the parade and hosted this event last year, in coordination with The Salvation Army and WPXI. Any Joe-lovers willing to bare the post-Thanksgiving Day food comas and cold to support this cause?

Kristin Bauer and Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine launch campaign on Change.org asking U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to extend endangered species protections to captive chimpanzees.
WASHINGTON, DC – Actress Kristin Bauer, who plays Pam on HBO’s True Blood, has launched a campaign on Change.org with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine urging the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to protect captive chimpanzees.
Bauer’s online campaign asks the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to extend the endangered species protections currently given to wild chimpanzees to captive chimpanzees used in experiments and the entertainment industry and kept as pets in United States.
“I’ve always been fascinated by the incredible intelligence and rich, complex social lives of chimpanzees,” said Bauer. “It would be shameful to see them go extinct in the wild as we continue to exploit them here in the U.S. in invasive experiments, entertainment and as pets”
Bauer cites studies demonstrating that when people see chimpanzees used in commercials and interacting with humans in the media, they are more likely to believe that chimpanzees not only make good pets, but that they are not endangered in the wild.
“The Endangered Species Act should protect all chimpanzees, including those being used in laboratory experiments,” said John Pippin, M.D., F.A.C.C., of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. “No other developed countries allow invasive research on chimpanzees because of ethical and scientific problems with such experiments. The U.S. must do more to protect humankind’s closest genetic relatives.”

Some of the True Blood actors exhibited their support for worthy charitable causes by making appearances at some events this week.
In New York City at The Plaza Hotel, Nelsan Ellis walked the red carpet at the 2011 Skin Sense Awards Gala, which benefits the The Skin Cancer Foundation and recognized achievements in skin health, including public education about sun protection and skin cancer prevention.

Kevin Alejandro showed his support for Soles 4 Souls, an organization that donates shoes to adults and children, Oct. 11 when he showed up at the Puma presents Riddim + Run benefiting Soles 4 Souls held at Siren Studios in Hollywood.
Last night, Ryan Kwanten attended CAA’s Young Hollywood Party, benefiting Communities In Schools at The Colony, Los Angeles. Communities In Schools is the same charitable organization that is currently auctioning the on set meet and greet with Ryan and Alexander Skarsgård that we posted earlier this week.
