Lauren Bowles has landed the role as Holly Cleary in True Blood. Her character will appear in five episodes of the vampire drama’s upcoming third season, with an option to continue as a regular on Season 4.

Detail: Holly Cleary is a thirtysomething mother of two who applies for a job at Merlotte’s and creeps out Arlene (Carrie Preston) with her oddly prescient observations. Holly Cleary is a major character in the Southern Vampire Mysteries books “True Blood” is based on, in which Holly is a practicing Wiccan.

Bowles most recently appeared in guest spots on ABC’s “Private Practice” and CBS’ Cold Case.”

I don’t know how much of a spoiler this is so I’ll call it small…..for now.

Finally, some new casting calls and one serious spoiler for episode 7 “Hit The Floor”

Gregory Sporleder has been cast in the role of Calvin Norris. Y’all know this actor, he has a long list of movie and TV credits including “The Crazies,” “Black Hawk Down” and “Hotel For Dogs.”

His character will first appear in episode 2, “Beautifully Broken” and he’s described as a big, rugged, bare-chested man in his 40s who is upset when the police arrive with a warrant to search his rundown trailer… 2 lines, 1 scene in this episode; STRONG RECURRING.

Eric Northman’s father, Ulfrick, has been cast and it’s not Alexander Skarsgard’s dad. It’s gonna be………..Hans Tester. He’ll make his debut in episode 5 “Trouble”. Below is the casting call description:

[ULFRICK]In his 40s to 50s.. warm, a battle-scarred Swedish Viking king, he is Eric’s (Alex Skarsgård) father, seen in a flashback to 900 A.D. Though they have a good relationship, there is some tension between father and son, because Ulfrick wants Eric to learn responsibility and behave in a manner befitting royalty…GUEST STAR

Three additional characters have been cast for True Blood. If HBO’s keeps this up their going to have to rent more studio space for all the new cast members.

Tamara Frapasella has been cast as Henchwoman in Episode 2.

Sylvianne Chebance has been added in Episode 2 as Were-Bitch.

After many rumors and speculation it is confirmed by his agency that Don Swayze, younger brother of Patrick Swayze is scheduled to be in four episodes of the upcoming third season of True Blood.

Don will portray Gus.  OK. Who’s Gus?
