Christopher Heyerdahl casting callDeadline is reporting that Christopher Heyerdahl will be playing an ancient vampire on True Blood this season in a recurring role.

Christopher Heyerdahl, who plays an ancient vampire in the Twilight Saga movies, will now play one in another screen adaptation of a popular book series — this time on TV. Heyerdahl is joining HBO’s hit vampire drama True Blood in a recurring role. He will portray Dieter Braun, an ancient, powerful vampire who plays a large part in the intelligence of the Authority and especially enjoys enhanced interrogation. That is familiar territory for Sanctuary alum Heyerdahl, who played the ancient Volturi vampire Marcus in three of the Twilight movies: New Moon, Breaking Dawn Part 1 and the upcoming Part 2 (photo on left). Additionally, he played a demon in an arc on the CW’s Supernatural. Heyerdahl, repped by Open Entertainment’s Lesa Kirk, currently co-stars on the AMC drama series Hell On Wheels playing Norwegian badass The Swede. The period Western was recently renewed for a second season.

Chris Meloni To Portray Powerful Vampire… Really

chrismeloni casting callChris Meloni, formerly of Law & Order: SVU, will definitely portray a powerful vampire in True Blood’s fifth season according to series creator Alan Ball.

TVLine reports: According to executive producer Alan Ball, the former Law & Order: SVU front man will play, ”An ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands.”

Not only that, but his character is “the mastermind of the mainstream movement. Hmmm, so I guess this guy is a friend of Mr. Bill Compton?

So we can assume this dude is part of the authoritarian authority? I think I’m excited, yet I’ve never seen this guy in anything. People are excited… Yes?

Possible New True Blood Authority Vampire Cast

carolynhennesy casting call

Can this woman get her hair high enough to interfere with air traffic?

Our friends over at Wetpaint.com found an interesting tweet from Carolyn Hennesy. Read on for her possible role in True Blood.

The True Blood cast should get ready to have their scenes stolen, because it looks like Carolyn Hennesy is joining their ranks in season 5!

The redhead actress — who is best known as brassy lawyer Diane Miller on General Hospital and provocative Barb on Cougar Town — tweeted a clue that she’ll be appearing on the HBO show this season: “Guess who’s gonna be a fab new vampire with a Texas twang on True Blood? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?”

Hennesy brings sass and spark to every role she plays, even when she’s nearly unrecognizable, like on Once Upon a Time recently as Jiminy Cricket’s evil mother Myrna.

We can’t wait to see this new vamp she plays. Could Hennesy be playing Rosalyn Harris, a “40 to 60-year-old member of the Authority from Texas with “hair high enough to interfere with air traffic,” in episode 2? The timing makes sense, since we know True Blood started filming recently and had their first table read.

Whatever the role is, we know that True Blood + one of our favorite characters actresses = must-see TV!
