To help with the relief efforts needed after the Haitian earthquake, TrueBlood-News will be donating 100% of the proceeds from our Blood Donor t-shirts to the Red Cross.

The American Red Cross is sending money, supplies and staff to Haiti to support relief efforts there after Tuesday’s earthquake, which caused catastrophic damage and loss of life.

According to reports, as many as three million people may have been affected by the quake, which collapsed government buildings and caused major damage to hospitals in the area.

The Red Cross is contributing an initial $1 million from the International Response Fund to support the relief operation, and has opened its warehouse in Panama to provide tarps, mosquito nets and cooking sets for approximately 5,000 families.

Other ways to donate directly: People can make an unrestricted donation to the International Response Fund at www.redcross.org or by calling 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767). The public can also help by texting “Haiti” to 90999 to send a $10 donation to the Red Cross, through an effort backed by the U.S. State Department. Funds will go to support American Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti.

Already donated to the Red Cross but I’m getting a shirt too. BTW I do make regular blood donations (Type O-). It only takes an hour and you get a mini physical to boot. It may not be as nice as Bill biting you but you leave with a good feeling.

  3. it’s soooo great that true blood helps out because of the terrible thing that happened at the haiti quake but i need to warn other members who goes to the wetpaint true blood wiki site these moderators are very bad there not to be trusted stay away from them there names are boadica, morgaine, glamoured69 these moderators like to ban members from their wiki site for no reason !.

Lemor, this site is not affiliated with HBO or the True Blood Wiki. We are an independent group of fans that got together to provide a True Blood News site. We do have a Wiki discussion board, but it is located at http://billswikidwomen.wetpaint.com/forum and again, has no affiliation with HBO or the True Blood Wiki.

Let’s keep this thread positive. It’s about helping out a country in need, not bashing other sites.

Bought a shirt–Love the design! Texted my $10– The Red Cross is the leading Blood Bank in the world as well as all the other good they do for people in crisis.

NCB is right: mini-physical (not bad if you have no insurance and haven’t been to a doctor in awhile)

plus info about your own blood — especially if you are rejected from donating: you might have anemic or something else detected in your blood that you wouldnt have known about, so you can take care of it!

plua the good feeling from the opportunity to help anyone truly in need of vital blood– the real “V-juice” —

plus a nice big fat doughnut and juice or cookies and milk to replenish while you recover —

Give blood with a friend! It’s like meeting for coffee! They can set you up side by side and you can chat away!
